100% of a federal employee’s TSP contribution can go to Roth TSP. 100% of the government’s match always goes to the traditional TSP.

So good to hear from someone with more modest income/savings. Love this show.

Good video. Curious what her SS strategy is. I don’t believe that was discussed.

Take the $1800 monthly guarantee. You’ll need 500k in life insurance to make up for the potential loss.

Instead of life insurance maybe get a HELOC while both have incomes which could be used in case of disability as well as death?

A part-time job with the federal government???
Unless this couple is planning on leaving the eight kids behind and moving to SE Asia, I strongly recommend the guy stay put in his job for a couple of more years.
They’re a little too young to retire, especially since the wife is uneasy about it. May you all find inner peace.

She’s concerned about the money and works part time. The husband’s job is discussed but not hers. Odd.

Maybe she will if they need her to. That's what part of this call was about determining.
