It's possible of course. We definitely recommend keeping the violin flat on the work surface, and try not to move it excessively for that reason, but a correctly set soundpost shouldn't fall too easily.
You guys dont measure the length between the bridge and tailpiece?!?!?! The distance should be 1/6 of the string length. Learned this from Stefano Trabucchi in cremona! You guys should do that.
Thanks for the addition! This was just a very basic introduction, and that is an excellent thing to measure for and fine tune once you generally what it... entails (pun intended). We're looking forward to your video on the specifics 😉
If it looks like everything's still intact, you could try again, but it will most likely just happen again. There's probably something that just needs to be replaced. If it looks like the hardware (nuts or washers) are still in place, and they just slipped through the tailpiece, you might have to replace the tailpiece, or you could try a kevlar tailgut where you can tie larger knots underneath the tailpiece like: fiddlershop.com/products/multi-fiber-tailcord
As usual.
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you for watching! 😃
Damn, I felt like I was watching Jascha Heifetz when you tuned that, that was amazing.
Grazie mille! Nice video.
Appreciate it, thanks :)
What’s the likelihood of the sound-post moving or falling while the strings are loose?

@@Fiddlershop glad to know, mine has fallen a few times if left out of case or changed strings.
Thank you
You're welcome

If the peg the gut attaches to pops out due to the gut tension, do I just need another peg here?
Fiddlerman my gut string came off the tail piece. It popped.
Can it be replaced or do I need a whole new tailpiece

Do I detect the slightest hint of a Dutch accent?
Thanks for watching!
