Dr.Mandell, I eat a salad w/ dinner At least 5-7 days a week. I have my famous 21 salad. It has At least 21 vegetables in it. I make it fresh 5-7 days @ week. For salad dressing I use olive oil & apple cider vinegar. Yes I add nuts & seeds as well as part of my 21 ingredient. Oh & I don't use iceberg lettuce in my salads, I use romaine lettuce & fresh spinach. I've always loved vegetables because my paternal grandmother had her own garden. 😉🙂😁 Oh sometimes I'll cut up strawberries, add blueberries, fresh not canned peaches etc.

😃 @ reneerose1525: I make my croutons with hotdog buns cut in small cubes. I pour melted butter over them, Italian seasoning and parsley, parmesan cheese sprinkled on them (op) toss or stir, place in a preheated oven on 400 for about 5 mins. (use your timer) Turn the broiler on (do not walk away @ this point,) about 2-3 mins. You don't want to burn them, remove from the oven, let cool. They are so delicious and crunchy! send me a Salad recipe! oh, by the way, the Salad dressing you ask for is somewhere here in the comments! Happy Cooking!😊

One of the best salad dressings is just extra virgin olive oil lemon juice and a little bit of salt and you don't pour it over the salad you just either spray it or sprinkle it and toss the salad well and taste a leaf or two to make sure you have the right balance I have a Greek friend and he taught me how to make tabouli and that is the dressing that is used into bully and I love it and it's good you can vary your oil like walnut oil and you can bury your vinegar like white wine red wine champagne vinegar taste changes the taste a little bit have fun and explore you can also vary your types of salt

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person who genuinely loves salad, it's my favorite food. People assume I'm just saying that because of societal expectations or whatever but it's actually true. Reading this comment section of other salad lovers makes me smile, knowing I'm not alone. I always try to take my time so I get to enjoy it longer but it's hard, I'm always extremely tempted to just wolf it down, but I make myself resist the temptation.
The last bite of salad is always bittersweet, I'm happy I got to enjoy it but slightly sad the experience is over. So I kind of savor the last bite for way too long, like 3 to 5 minutes (unless I'm in a hurry, then maybe 1 minute tops).

Doc, your salad looks yummy! Why is it that other's salads always look so good?
I love salads as a side, but I also love them as the main by adding protein. My standard is marinated chicken breast or "crisped". I dry chicken breast slices well, then toss in a mixture of baking soda and nutritional yeast, seasonings and air fry. The soda is a great way to get a crispness airfrying with no oil.
But thank you for bringing this point home so thoroughly, and I'll be making my weekly menu incorporating more salads!
