It's interesting to see how far the 49ers have fallen since then. They competed for a couple seasons after the Super Bowl, but the rise of the Seahawks ultimately prevented that Niners team from ever getting back to the big show. But that defense was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Patrick Willis, Justin Smith, and Aldon Smith led an amazing front 7. Donte Whitner and Dashon Goldson were 2 of the hardest-hitting safeties in the league. Take a look at the 49ers now, in the 2015 season. Patrick Willis and Justin Smith have retired. Whitner and Goldson have left. Aldon Smith had off-field issues and went across the Bay to the Raiders. Kaepernick looks merely a shell of his former self--throwing little 4 or 5-yard passes on every single play. Crabtree went from up-and-coming star to mediocre WR, and then left for the Raiders too. Vernon Davis went from being the deadliest, fastest TE in the league to being an after-thought in the 49ers' stagnant offense. And while the Niners now have Boldin and Torrey Smith, both of whom were on the Ravens in this Super Bowl, neither can do much as long as Kaepernick struggles. It's a shame that 49ers team, especially that defense, never got to win a Super Bowl. Not to take anything away from the amazing talent that is Ray Lewis, but that Niners D was also one of the best. And in that one special year, just a mere 1st and goal away from a ring.
It's actually their 4th season after this Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was in 2012, but it was the 2011 season. It's been 4 years and now we're in the 2015 season. Just goes to show, though, how quickly the Niners have fallen.
Ah, my bad. I associate things with major life events, and I had thought the Super Bowl was in 2012, but you are right, it was 2013. 2012 season. Goes to show how even quicker the Niners have turned around their franchise from contender to struggling-to-survive.
+SteelCityFilms I think they were pretty equal in wow factor. That was a great game though. I was pulling for the Steelers (I'm a Ravens fan). If the Ravens aren't playing you guys or they don't make it to the postseason, I want the Steelers representing the AFC. They're just so similar in their football mentality. It's like looking in a mirror normally. Hope you guys make it to the post season this year and good luck! Can't wait to see the normal Ravens-Steelers games next season.
Ray Lewis last game Super Bowl a good way to bring one home on his last season to the greatest linebacker of all time see you in the hall of fame👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
+Isaiah Gaming That 49ers team was led by ALEX SMITH, GORE, DAVIS , Patrick WIllis and Justin Smith. All of them are no longer with the 9ers. Smith has been the only one to have SUCCESS with the team outside of the 9ers. Smith just might get a ring with KC in the SUPERBOWL 50 that will be in the 9ers stadium . That would be amzing for Smith to come back to Frisco and win it .
+Isaiah Gaming The Ravens made it to the Divisional round last year if you don't remember. They gave the Pats a way harder time than the Colts did in the AFC Championship game . This is just a cursed season . 20 players on IR . All good starters. They'll rebuild and come back
These were the days man... Colin Kaepernick was actually good and didn't kneel for the national anthem, ray rice actually played and didnt beat his girlfriend, Ray Lewis' last game, Aaron Hernandez wasn't a killer off the field, and back when Joe Flacco was actually good...
My god, just watched this and found myself up and jumping with excitement. I know it's kind of pathetic, but that may have been the happiest night of my life. As a life long Ravens fan born in raised in Indiana, it sounds folly, but I bleed purple. SO PUMPED after watching that again. Just a few more weeks folks! RAVENS!!!
Amazing season. Tough losses, our owner Art Modell died, but we still made it to the playoffs. Beat the great Andrew Luck and the Colts in the wild card. Beat Manning and the Broncos in the divisional round (one of the greatest games ever). Beat Brady and the Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Before the Super Bowl Torrey Smiths brother died, Ray Lewis announced his retirement. First Super Bowl where the head coaches were brothers, we became the first and only team to beat the 49ers in a Super Bowl. Amazing performance by Flacco and Jacoby Jones. Ray Lewis ends his career with another Super Bowl. Only sad this is that Patrick Willis retires without a Super Bowl win because he deserved one.
I Still Feel For #82 T-Smith's Brother, Who Died at The Beginning of The 2012 Season, Right After The Raven's Team Owner Passed Away Before The 2012 Season & The Ravens Winning SB 47 Over The 49ers, Brought The Hardship of Pain, Easy to Live With & to Continue to Play Football in The NFL & Evan I Can Admit That The 49ers Got Screwed Out of Winning SB 47.

Well....don't all teams go through their craptacular seasons, hit the bottom and work their way back up again? I expected them to have a craptacular season last year after the injuries and after 6/7 years in a row, being in the playoffs always one step or two away from getting in the Super Bowl.
That was a heck of a game. Everyone played their hearts 💕 out. No shame to no one. The black out wasn't expected but somehow was a nice touch, in retrospect.

Initially, after reading your comment, I thought,”Hell no.” But then I started running down Super Bowls I’m my head and I think that you might be right. Maybe the Packers/Broncos Super bowl…maybe. Reggie White, Elway, Farve, T. Davis, Shannon Sharpe, Neil Smith, Atwater, Braxton, Rod Smith, McKyer…stacked for sure. But you’re probably right.
As a Niner fan, that last possession still gives me nightmares.. they threw 3 straight incomplete passes from within the 10 yard line to the same receiver … why on earth didn’t they run the ball with Frank Gore or Kap still baffles me
The fact that two brothers coached the Teams that played a superbowl is incredible. Like I can only imagine how christmas or thanskgiving dinner is like. Just now it cannot happen besides conference championship game I guess ? Lets see
I haven't watched enough superbowls to say this, but man this is my favorite one that i've personally seen. The storylines, the plays, the blackout, the halftime show, the almost comeback, this SuperBowl had it all.

This is the first game I watched on my birthday this year I am a die hard ravens fan, and this is arguably their best game of all time. I hope they make a run this year
I know the 49ers lost this game, but Colin Kaepernick was able to actually WIN in the playoffs while Lamar Jackson is 0-2 now in playoff games during his career.
For the Kaepernick supporters arguing that him guiding the 49ers to this Super Bowl is enough of a reason for someone to sign him, remember this game was played over SEVEN YEARS AGO. Hardly any of the players from both teams are still in the league (9 from the Ravens, 7 from the 49ers) and fewer are still starters. Based on your logic, someone should sign Mark Sanchez since he guided the Jets to back to back AFC title games in 2009 and 2010.
It's a combination of reasons. He should only be signed if he can still play well (obviously), but teams will also take into consideration the fact that he once led a team to the SB and played well during that run.
@@mathgodpiextras You may want to reread the part about that Super Bowl run being from seven years ago. Plus, it makes no sense to sign someone who hasn't played a down in 4 yrs. Even a year away from the game is too much. That's why I don't expect much from Aldon Smith and Gronk.
@@finchborat Reread the part where I said he still has to be able to play well and prove himself in camp. That said, experience of leading a team a is valuable asset, no matter how long ago it was.
@@mathgodpiextras If he could still play, he might've been signed after that tryout last year. If it weren't for George Floyd getting killed, no one in the sports media would be calling for him to get signed to a team. Also, that asset loses its value if it's been so long since the team did anything. The "Kaep led the 49ers to a Super Bowl" argument had some legitimacy 3 yrs ago, but that argument has been pretty weak from 2018 on. People also cite his 4-2 playoff record. Mark Sanchez was 4-2 in the playoffs too and his market wasn't all that good when he was available.
@@finchborat I would argue that Sanchez never had a season where he played at an elite level. Kaepernick was elite in the 2012-13 season & playoffs. How much of that player still remains? Time will tell... But I think it's foolish to ignore the fact that teams wouldn't sign him after 2016 due to his political speech & gestures; he could still play. His 2016 stats were decent.
"My 9th game is the Super Bowl and I'm a bad ass so I'm just gonna find Crabtree 5 times in a row because that will fool everyone". I never sleep on Bmore. As a Lions fan I'm usually forced to choose a surrogate team by January. It's usually the Ravens. That Flacco just turns into a total beast when the playoffs start. Besides my navy blue Brady jersey- a Black n Purple Lewis jersey and a white Flacco jersey are the only non-Lions in my closet. No QB is better in the clutch than Joe Flacco. I know I will take shit for saying that but it's true. He becomes a man possessed when the shit hits the fan. If he had a little bit more help from his line- he would have won in Foxborough last Jan. and the Colts couldn't have stopped him.
Tony Starks You cant hate on Kap too much for who he threw to in this game at the end. The dumbass Greg Roman kept picking pass plays so Kap kept throwing to his best receiver. That last play where he overthrew Crabtree was such bull.. IF his oline had held more then a half a second he wouldnt have overthrown him. Literally as soon as the ball is snapped someone is passed the line and in Kaps face.
I can hate on Kap all I want. You don't target the same guy 5 consecutive downs and expect to score a TD. The only thing I'll credit him for is not getting picked off by that Ravens defense. Crabtree isn't Megatron, and any pass catcher on your offense is a valid target, that's why they get paid so much. Randy Moss was in 2 of those formations. His hands are FAR more sticky than Crabs, regardless of age, he may have lost a step, but speed isn't necessarily required in a red zone passing attack. Vernon Davis was in there too. When he tried to hit Crabtree the 3rd time I giggled. By the 5th attempt I was already debating what I should buy w the money I was sure to win. They got a free 1st down and everything. He should have took the game into his own hands like he did against Atlanta in the NFCC. He's a good QB, but trying to pass the buck off on the coaching staff is laughable. ESPECIALLY considering how good that SF coaching was.
Everyone seems to forget the blackout in this game. I live in CA, where everyone is either a Niner or Raider fan (some Rams and Steelers)... And EVERY niner fan tells me they were a play away from winning. The truth is Baltimore's momentum was killed after that rigged blackout. The NFL knew that people would change the channel and stop watching the game. They had to do something, and that was the best they could do, to hope for a Niner comeback.
Great game! A very pivotal play looking back is at 10:25: 31-29 Ravens, 3rd an 9 on their own 21 with 8:35 left in the game, and they call PI on Culliver. Torrey Smith pushed off first, but they got Culliver, and 1st down for the Ravens.

And in that one special year, just a mere 1st and goal away from a ring.
dude, it's there third season after this
It's actually their 4th season after this Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was in 2012, but it was the 2011 season. It's been 4 years and now we're in the 2015 season.
Just goes to show, though, how quickly the Niners have fallen.
+GoldenWarrior7 ah no.
t
Ravens vs 49s was in 2013.
2012 season
Ah, my bad. I associate things with major life events, and I had thought the Super Bowl was in 2012, but you are right, it was 2013. 2012 season.
Goes to show how even quicker the Niners have turned around their franchise from contender to struggling-to-survive.
+GoldenWarrior7 that niners defense gave up like 90 points in the playoffs.
One of the most thrilling superbowls!
+Joe Reilly I AGREE
+SteelCityFilms your right. steelers and cardinals right? that game was amazing I was going for steel city all the way!
rafael
+SteelCityFilms I think they were pretty equal in wow factor. That was a great game though. I was pulling for the Steelers (I'm a Ravens fan). If the Ravens aren't playing you guys or they don't make it to the postseason, I want the Steelers representing the AFC. They're just so similar in their football mentality. It's like looking in a mirror normally. Hope you guys make it to the post season this year and good luck! Can't wait to see the normal Ravens-Steelers games next season.
panthers vs patriots considered one of the greatest
One of the best superbowls I've ever seen
D Raw watch Super Bowl 43 if u haven't seen it
All the super bowls were good except 35, 36, 38, 39, 47, 49, and 51.
oleirishdragon
How was 51 not good?
oleirishdragon 47, 49 and 51 were amazing, maybe you wanted to say 48 and 53
Ray Lewis last game Super Bowl a good way to bring one home on his last season to the greatest linebacker of all time see you in the hall of fame👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Same for Peyton Manning 2015
Too bad for randy moss though
“That’s somebody daddy out there”😭

Watching these old superbowls makes me so excited for this years superbowl!
Jacoby Jones was a MADMAN this game. Dude really strapped on the jets for the big game
If your a niners fan like me and feel sad about this just think about super bowl 49
This hurts
Now your going back
@@brendenmenchaca5419 And losing again

A Ravens fan here watching these Superbowl highlights before we play the 49ers Christmas Day ❤️💪🏾😈
Now both teams are playing bad
True
Nobody stays good forever. Your Seahawks will stop being good one time.
+noize2040 Gore has done pretty well with the Colts, though
+Isaiah Gaming The Ravens made it to the Divisional round last year if you don't remember. They gave the Pats a way harder time than the Colts did in the AFC Championship game . This is just a cursed season . 20 players on IR . All good starters. They'll rebuild and come back
These were the days man... Colin Kaepernick was actually good and didn't kneel for the national anthem, ray rice actually played and didnt beat his girlfriend, Ray Lewis' last game, Aaron Hernandez wasn't a killer off the field, and back when Joe Flacco was actually good...
Who cares if he kneels or not thats his decision stop being soft
The most memorable Super Bowl for me and I was cheering for the Ravens in this game even though they defeated my Broncos in the playoffs that year
My god, just watched this and found myself up and jumping with excitement. I know it's kind of pathetic, but that may have been the happiest night of my life. As a life long Ravens fan born in raised in Indiana, it sounds folly, but I bleed purple. SO PUMPED after watching that again. Just a few more weeks folks! RAVENS!!!
Het I'm watching this today
I'm watching today because this was the best night of my entire life. I was there :) my first ever Ravens game and what a game to attend :)))
I just realized Ravens almost blew a 28-3 lead
They never led 28-3.
ThePerfect10 28-6
Power outages fault, not the ravens
I miss this ravens team😭
Iyanna D - It’s even better now. We got Lamar!

Baltimore Ravens Are The Only Team To Be Undefeated In Superbowl History & Only Team To Defeat 49ers In The Superbowl
Yep
ravens are terrible
+Diego Gonzalez tell me another tem who is undefeated in the super bowl & another team who has defeated the 49ers in the super bowl
Uhhhh I don't know that much about super bowl history
Jarrett 82 and they only made it to two Super Bowls and the high is seven...
I Still Feel For #82 T-Smith's Brother, Who Died at The Beginning of The 2012 Season,
Right After The Raven's Team Owner Passed Away Before The 2012 Season & The Ravens Winning SB 47 Over The 49ers,
Brought The Hardship of Pain,
Easy to Live With & to Continue to Play Football in The NFL & Evan I Can Admit That The 49ers Got Screwed Out of Winning SB 47.
The 49ers would of won the Super Bowl if Kapernick gave the ball to frank gore or run an QB sneak at the final drive.
Too bad he loves Crabtree too much, which cost us the nfc championship the following year....
@@a.j.martinez3259 i mean he was there number 1 receiver

2 year ago they were one of the best teams, 2 years later they SUCK...
sahittya rahman just every other team that goes to championship right? Ex: panthers... Etc
Well....don't all teams go through their craptacular seasons, hit the bottom and work their way back up again? I expected them to have a craptacular season last year after the injuries and after 6/7 years in a row, being in the playoffs always one step or two away from getting in the Super Bowl.
LMFAO, did you catch the ravens' game yesterday?
sahittya rahman the Only reason they suck is cause they need better offense and defense there fucken up to much
That what happens when you fire a great coach
That was a heck of a game. Everyone played their hearts 💕 out. No shame to no one. The black out wasn't expected but somehow was a nice touch, in retrospect.
Gvvv.

But then I started running down Super Bowls I’m my head and I think that you might be right. Maybe the Packers/Broncos Super bowl…maybe.
Reggie White, Elway, Farve, T. Davis, Shannon Sharpe, Neil Smith, Atwater, Braxton, Rod Smith, McKyer…stacked for sure.
But you’re probably right.
As a Niner fan, that last possession still gives me nightmares.. they threw 3 straight incomplete passes from within the 10 yard line to the same receiver … why on earth didn’t they run the ball with Frank Gore or Kap still baffles me
Moss was open twice. VD and gore were also open once. 🥴 💊
lights dont go out this game is a blowout
The fact that two brothers coached the Teams that played a superbowl is incredible. Like I can only imagine how christmas or thanskgiving dinner is like. Just now it cannot happen besides conference championship game I guess ? Lets see
that jacoby jones footwork man.. thats the blueprint
And now this Super Bowl is about to happen again
i'll never forget that punter became a LEGEND by taking that safety
I haven't watched enough superbowls to say this, but man this is my favorite one that i've personally seen. The storylines, the plays, the blackout, the halftime show, the almost comeback, this SuperBowl had it all.
Me coming back to this game in 2021 realizing how many great players were on that field like bruh oh my gosh
Such a good game. So underrated.
Sometimes i watch this game for that good nostalgia of early 2013
Kaepernick, Garoppolo, and Purdy 3 games 3 losses almost makes me feel bad for 49ers fans
#RavensNation Brazil!
8 years later, there could be another epic SB battle between these 2. Go Ravens!

8 years? This super bowl happened in Feb 2013 so it’s 11 years later. They just uploaded it in 2015 😂

When I saw that opening kick at the start of the third quarter all those years ago, I screamed.
Best play I've ever seen on live television.
This is the first game I watched on my birthday this year I am a die hard ravens fan, and this is arguably their best game of all time. I hope they make a run this year
Idk I think the mile high miracle was the greatest Ravens game of all time. Still to this day the best playoff game I've ever witnessed
9:22 “If he would of hit Brady or Manning like that he’d be ejected” speaking facts
I know the 49ers lost this game, but Colin Kaepernick was able to actually WIN in the playoffs while Lamar Jackson is 0-2 now in playoff games during his career.
I remember my pops joking around. “The 9ers paid someone for that power outage! Look at them play now” Lmfaooo
"A man possessed when the shit hits the fan"
I love you
Tony Starks Although I am obsessed with the Ravens, my NFC team is the Lions and I foresee a great 2015 season for both teams
Ql00 lplaceylki
Great memories, I almost cried lol #RavensNation
Ray Lewis, is that you?

looking back at this game, I forgot how nervous I was after the lights went out
I always loved when this crew did the game recaps they were always so entertaining
when the harbaugh brothers were kids:

Jacoby Jones doing the Ray Lewis dance is my all time favorite moment as a Ravens fan
Lol shut up
There wasn't a blackout in the Seahawks and Broncos Super Bowl so ur argument is invalid
+Ali escheik But wasn't that game outdoors???
They should've done it for the Broncos and Seahawks super bowl because they was the worst Super Bowl I've ever seen in my life.
Still my favorite Super Bowl to date. I'll always treasure this one.
If the power never went out, the margin of Victory would have been bigger. That killed all the Ravens momentum
As a ravens fan I was just about in tears during those last 2 minutes
Great game! A very pivotal play looking back is at 10:25: 31-29 Ravens, 3rd an 9 on their own 21 with 8:35 left in the game, and they call PI on Culliver. Torrey Smith pushed off first, but they got Culliver, and 1st down for the Ravens.
This was lowkey a great super bowl especially when u look at all the storylines and how everything else turned out
