@@TheLauriPP Screaming for Engeance lmao. I think Defenders was their overall best album, but Vengeance was more unique and very signature Judas priest. Painkiller's title track is obviously fantastic, but I don't think the rest of the tracks compare to those two albums.

The section after the lead break blows your head off, just takes the song to another level and just when you think it can't get any better... BRILLIANT after all these years.
Blows your head OFF is the most concise way to describe the sonic, drum and vocal OVERLOAD. SEEN these cats, up danger close, 3 times in Arizona( where rob lives) IN THEIR PRIME and my 2 feet if hair blew back like an F16 ripping over at 100 feet. ( like the Blue Angels Used to do before they changed the crowd safety rules).. just FN DEADLY
Magical day in history the day Rob Halford walked into the studio to record the vocals for this song. BY FAR, IMHO, the most emotional vocal performance recorded by ANY artist. "death defying grace" makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time...
It's seems like it was only yesterday this album came out. I just remember being blown away by this album. This is definitely one of the best songs on it.
it's interesting that this album came out before my born, but still, for me, it is the good example of the music with soul, not nowerdays copy past combinations.
@HebaruSan It has never matter to me what Rob's sexual orientation is. How about we just call ourselves human and eliminate all these silly labels, they seem to have caused a lot if silly indifference
Screaming’ was so ahead of the curve. “Smash and grab” still a popular phrase today. Electric Eye could be written tomorrow and be fresh and relevant. Although Halford’s voice in the early 80’s will never be matched.

I was 13 when this album has been released. I went totally crazy hearing this album, priest as its best. Typical british style, groovy and great arrangements. Devils Child is my favourite songs here....
@@jakubkaras7810 There is nothing super special about the riffs on Screaming. Great album of course, but for us, I guess you are older as well, it is nostalgi. Invincible riffs is on par with Screaming. Judas has never been any special riff meisters either. So before you answe. What's so special about Devil's Child riff? Riding in the Wind? You've Got Another (Zzzzzzz), and Electric Eye (which is most rhythmic strumming anyway - no looping riff).
Okay. I will comment on this band. The early stuff was magic. After sin, and sad wings of Destiny The band was so into complex instrumentals and Robs voice. It wasn’t until they got commercial in the late 70s with breaking the law and living after midnight that they started changing …. and then they came out with screaming for vengeance! Probably one of the greatest melodic guitar albums ever!! it is one of the best metal albums of all time. Van Halen and AC/DC can learn a few things from priest
I wore out the needle on my stereo listening to this LP over and over and over again! To my mother's horror I might add.😂 But, it's NUMERO UNO on my personal list of best JP albums.
Another Epic song with so much feeling in the music. First I fall in love with the notes, the feel of them touching the depths of my soul, then after ive played it a million times the words sink in over time. It is time less Thank you Judas Priest for keeping my soul alive, all these long years... 54y and feeling 17y woohoo
The chorus to this song randomly popped in my head this morning (3/17/24) so I thought I’d drop by to give it a listen. I probably haven’t heard this since I was 15, and I’m in my 50s now. Dang! It’s better than I remember. The vocals from 1:58 are perfect.
I remember buying this cassette back in early 1984 at Rolling Stones records in Chicago. I usually bought their LP's but I had a cassette player in my 1972 Chevy Chevelle.

2024 baby!
Priest is number one
Tied with Maiden but yes
True
A magical album.. and the start of my lifetime of Priest fandom.
Yeah! This album introduced me to JP, though TH/EE, YGATC and SFV were my first songs :D
Exactly. Never understood when they always compare their new album with the Painkiller. Priest was at the top with SFE. Not before not after

Metal senza compromessi lunga vita ai judas priest
this one, blood red skies, nearly all of stained class. amazing vocals.
That bass...and Rob's vocals...man those were the days....
I love this entire album! So many classics on here The Hellion/Electric Eye, Riding On The Wind, Bloodstone, non-stop awesome!!!
It's weird hearing this referred to as a classic. I was 18 in 82, and this feels new to me now.
This was definitely a really good album.

What a masterpiece of straight rock, with the grabbing lyrics to match with the right front man. Hail to the Priest
Straight rock by a gay man, all hail JP!
@HebaruSan It has never matter to me what Rob's sexual orientation is. How about we just call ourselves human and eliminate all these silly labels, they seem to have caused a lot if silly indifference
They made some of greatest hard rock albums with Dave Holland. And Screaming for Vengence and Electric Eye are two of the best songs in metal history.
Once you hear it , you never forget it .
Leave the best for last. I love it how they put the best track at the very end of the album

Summer '82! Heading into Senior year. First day of class I must've heard a dozen cars in the parking lot crankin' this tape.
Flawless album!
That moment you realize JP is posting and Hellion/Electric Eye is on the way
unapologetic sound of heavy metal played at its absolute best❤🎸

The five guitar notes played immediately after "I believe you're the Devil" ignite the fire in my soul! 💓🤘

Lost in my own world with endless playing of the entire album on repeat in my cassette player with headphones in junior high.
