From one MacGyver to another, great job! I kept call out to you during the video, “forget the springs, use a bolt.” I wouldn’t cut off the excess hung. It’s good leverage should you need in the future. Thank you for all the extra effort videotaping takes. Love your channel!
The Summit reels I have are definitely slower but have enough torque to pull you over the reel lol. Definitely overkill. I like your belt design alot and would be cool to have a idler clutch lever to engage and disengage the belt. Pulling the lines on the chain reels have alot of drag vs the hand reels. You're definitely on to something the industry needs! Well done:)
You never seem to amaze me. Haha great work. Brilliant 👏 Been a fan since you started. Can you help me set my reels up? Not physically lol as I'm in south Carolina 🤣. I woke up for a sec and started watching this and now Its almost 4 . Have to get back to bed have to work at 730. Lol thank you so much for your time.
If I were marooned on a desert island….I want KENCO…. Most would build a raft; Ken & I could build a speed boat 🚤. Long time subscriber. I’ve learned from every video. Keep it coming my friend 👍
GREAT JOB AND GREAT INGENUITY MY FRIEND, I THINK YOUR ON TO SOMETHING MAN AND THESE COULD MAKE GOOD KITS TO SELL IF YOU COULD MAKE IT A NO BRAINER FOR ANYONE TO HOOK UP AS FAR AS SIZE AND LENGTH WISE. AMAZING JOB
This is great but just curious if it will be similar to the remote valve you made vs the flow pro you ended up buying? Those electric motors are expensive unless I had one laying around I wouldn’t even consider it personally…
Thanks. I'm booking work for April. We still have some sneaky freeze days in March. My shoulder is around 40% right now. I can't get it much past 90 degrees. I get weird twinges in my arm and hand.
What do you think about just mounting the motor shat right to the shaft of the reel. Instead of having that pulley and you had a low speed high torque motor, do you think that would work? Thanks again.
That would work. However, I've found that powering through a belt is safer on you and equipment. I can't tell you how many times my hose gets caught, and the belt slips as opposed to a chain or direct drive.
@@housewashing5693 I agree it’s fancy adds to the cost. I did see how easy it turns. I would be worried that spinning the motor backwards would do something to the brushes. I like the concept!!! Simple and effective.
The true test will be how it performs when it has to pull the total length of hose across a yard...and I am sure that it will be fine...but that is going to change the workload on the setup.
DISCLAIMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how long this will last? Build at your own risk.
Your ability to improvise with the metal bur was amazing!!!
I get lucky sometimes.
I also thought so. But leaving the burr on would’ve acted like a lock washer maybe
Glad to see you building again kenny. This is why we’re here!
Thanks for watching my struggle!!
Good seeing you again! Another great video! Thanks for taking us with you through your journey!
It's always a bumpy ride!
This is Gold!!! Thanks for the instructional video!
They are still working great

LOL. Yeah, you think of things you should have done once finished. But it is what it is.
Cool video. Great idea. Just what I was looking for a period thank you. God bless
I'm glad it helps

True. Thanks for the comment
Great info, thanks for sharing!
Nice DIY love your video from Australia 🇦🇺
I need to metal detect your goldfields there. But it looks like the Mosquitos eat men alive there?

I can try to help you. Whatcha got going on?
Cool home made electric reel system. Nice job.
Thanks!

Lol. I think I would stay there and be done with all the crap going on here.

Nobody wants any of my "Farmboy" ideas. Thanks for the nice comment!
that's just a tad faster than the hannay's that i have. good job on the build
Thanks for the info
Great job my friend!
Thanks a lot!!
Thanks for the time and energy you put in to sharing with us.
Where did you buy your hose reel from.
All my reels came from Southside Equipment. But I wouldn't buy Titan again.
@@housewashing5693 Thanks for the reply because I was just looking up titan reels🤦🏽♂️
I made one using wiper motor not bad at all it's hard to deep drop in regular reel
Cool
Good job sir. I salute you
Thank you
I have 3 electric reels on my rig, yours is definitely faster than commercial ones.
I love them. What a time and arm saver!
This is great but just curious if it will be similar to the remote valve you made vs the flow pro you ended up buying? Those electric motors are expensive unless I had one laying around I wouldn’t even consider it personally…
Good point. Who knows if this works 1 week or years? I'm going to put this in my description.
Kenny, you are just a straight up MacGyver 😊. This is awesome. How’s the shoulder? Started spraying yet?
Thanks. I'm booking work for April. We still have some sneaky freeze days in March. My shoulder is around 40% right now. I can't get it much past 90 degrees. I get weird twinges in my arm and hand.
@@housewashing5693 Still in therapy or is that over? Be sure and keep doing your home exercise program!
@@brianfletcher7942 I have PT once a week. I think I have 5 more scheduled.
I would like to order the motors for the hose reels need order information please thanks Dave
The links are in the description
Do u have the size pulley and the weld a hub? I’m rebuilding my trailer and I want to try it. I have the same titan reel you do.
Awesome job
Thanks
Very helpful thanks
Is it possible to jimmy up a drill to get the reel to spin some how. Great Ingenuity
That is a likely option.
How are the electric motor setups holding up?
Great. I have around 300 jobs on them

You should be able to give it less voltage to slow it down a bit. With a low Buck converter set to maybe 10.5 V
I've gotten used to it. But great idea
How well did your diy foamer nozzle end up working
Good but I think I can make it better.
If the springs don't work out, try a turn buckle. nice work though.
I think you skipped through too much. Watch the video again. That will also help my view count! LOL.
@@housewashing5693 lol. I did. Got called away for about 2 1/2 hours before I watched till the end. Good fix
@@Doinitmyway I though people couldn't pull away from my videos until the end! LOL
It’s been a few months since you did the video on powering the reels, just wanted to know how that is working. Thanks
How has it been holding up?
Real good. I had to replace one switch is all.
What about an electric pto clutch and when it’s off it free wheels but when you turn the motor on it engages the clutch.
It turns easy pulling the hose off. That electric clutch would be too fancy for me! LOL
@@housewashing5693 I agree it’s fancy adds to the cost. I did see how easy it turns. I would be worried that spinning the motor backwards would do something to the brushes. I like the concept!!! Simple and effective.
I hope they last a season.

What size pulley did you use?
Be subscriber. Great info (all videos)👍Maybe a Lawnmower type pulley would have size/ hub ya need? 🤔JAT 🤷♂️
👍💯🙏✌️
Maybe so.
