I reckon that shot of the TAA 727 at 1.47 must be at the Boeing plant as the TWA and other 707’s in the background also the very brief shot of what looks like a Ford Econoline panel van, based on Ford Falcon running gear. And a model not sold here in Australia
I just checked. Ansett called the identical plane the FanJet in their advertising. They were identical according to an article I recently read . Had the same Boeing Model number. They did the Melbourne to Perth flights at night which was Australia’s first cheap fare . I flew accross in 1969. It cost me 75dollars as a student , $149 as an adult, that was a cheap fare then the day flight considerable dearer. I went on a special. Not many passengers & it was rough.,as it often was back then. The weather information was a lot less reliable & comprehensive than it is today . Navigation I am told was by beacons which meant they stayed close to the coast.
not quite the ame Boeing model. TAA was a 727-76 and Ansett was a 727-77 for the -100 series....then 276 and 277 respectively for the -200s..nice price you got!!
The whispering referred to inside the cabin , where they were quiet compared & smooth compared to other Aircraft like. The Viscount DC6B & Lockheed Electra. They were noisy & left a trail of Black smoke.interestingly they flew them faster than planes fly today.. it was also very expensive to fly . Ansett used a similar theme something about fan jets.
Whispering!! tell that to a kid in Arncliffe before they closed the east west runway. This 727, subtleties aside, were louder than bombs.
I suspect they meant inside 🥳🤗
They'd call this false advertising today. Quietest jet in the world? I grew up with 727's taking off past my house and loved the noise and vibration.😂
The 727 was the fastest aircraft in TAA's fleet to the best of my knowledge - with a maximum cruising speed of 615 mph.
Quiet.... err no! But they were the Porsche of the skies. Beautiful Aircraft the 727.
those were the days BRING BACK TAA!

T-Jet, t-tail, TAA jet. Nice
Whispering!?
I worked on the 727 and I can tell you right now.....it was a great airplane but it was NOT a quiet one!

Whispering??? I guess deafness was common back then :)

@@beagle7622 quiet for it's time but compared to the a320's at ansett and later versions of 737's that ansett and australian had it was noisy.
excelent video nice
Fantastic era of Aviation, to which 1964 was the year my father joined Ansett as a F/O. A very white homogenous society back then.
