Man...I am glad you are making these videos. No offense to others, but it just seems you are down to earth and here to tell the truth about fishing. Congrats on the wins this year! Keep em coming!
Love the concise and to the pint videos that you are making!!! Trying to learn more about the actual use of the swim jig, how and where the best areas and spots to look for!!! Thanks for the learning opportunities!!!
I am so glad you are making videos. Pros that win have the most valuable knowledge. I worked the Bass master classic expo this past spring at Hartwell and the company I was with, we made picks for who would win and I confidently said you knowing your past there and was so happy you won!
I like your format of breaking it down into parts. Keeps things organized and easy to follow. Good content and very helpful. Becoming better friends with the swim jig and bladed jig is one of my learning goals this season. I've been a lipless crankbait, square bill, spinner bait guy mainly and it's time to broaden my skills.
Hey, what a relaxing channel, you popped up and I said...cool!! I just finished eating a few bluegill my husband caught the other day 🤣. Never seen a bluegill I didn't like!! That was my grandaddy's favorite fish too. I'm enjoying your channel...well let me binge watch a few! Thanks 😊👍 Oh, yeah, I subscribed too!😁
Hi Jason great tips. I like the format of your videos. How you show with the on screen pinpointing the target areas. The only thing I would like to see is a bit more in depth breakdown of the baits and trailers. When and why you would use different types based on conditions and times of year. Keep um coming!
Other than my dad I have very few men I admire in today's world. You JC are one of them and have been for years. My style of fishing is literally identical to yours and we have that same single minded mindset. Looks good when it's working but we aren't gonna back down when it doesn't either. Swimming a jig has become my go to with all the fishing pressure we have locally. I slow roll deep in colder water or when they are less active. And of course up higher when they are on it good. Keep that hammer down hammer and ride it straight to top.
Great content! We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the lakes. This will surely give them motivation to try new activity like fishing. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thank you Jason you are a great teacher. You explain things very well and keep it easy to understand. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.Congrats on all your success this year keep it going.God bless
This is one thing I have a harder time getting them to commit on. Thanks for all the great advice Jason!! Is there any advantage in that situation of using a bladed underspin swim jig or one of those screwhead swim jigs or is that too close to a spinnerbait not as natural?
There's only a few channels I subscribe to, this is one of them. Question: what kind of knot do you use to go braid to floro on the swim jig set up? My concern is having a knot that knocks a rod guide insert out.
I've actually caught bass when swimming my casting jig in before there was any swim jigs but I own swim jigs now they absolutely catch fish you might even think its a big'en until you realize a catfish just ate your jig and is rolling beside the boat get ready to wash your hands and jig 😂😮
When I started swimming a jig here on the Lower Coosa, back in 1991, it was unreal. A motoroil Swamp Frog w/orange legs on a brown jig, or a white frog on a black/blue jig would get absolutely stomped most every time out. We kept it secret for a long time and won alot of money. I've seen a 6 lb bass explode on my jig, miss it, and get trapped outside, ON TOP, of a solid mat of dying December grass. I once saw a 3lb bass jump out of the water willow, clear across 2 feet of grass, and come DOWN ON IT from above. In the decades since, it has become increasingly harder to get them to stomp it like they did back then. One of the things I've found that helps is realism. I've found the FLASH of silver or gold glitter, in my skirts AND in my trailers, to be VERY effective in creating realism, and thus-bites. Naturally, in clear to stained water, black, green pumpkin, and pearl all produce good results. Likewise, in dirtier water, black and white still produce well. It's in CLEARER water, with great visibility and on still, bright, or otherwise tough days that a clear skirt with lots of gold or silver glitter really shines. Crazy Chrome, TN Shad, Silver Flash, Golden Shiner, Green Pumpkin Flash- whatever the color- as long as it has ALOT OF FLASH from silver or gold glitter and muted colors, it will work. Give this a try in your swimjig fishing. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
I mean no disrespect at all but unless you're just fun fishing on a weekday these old techniques that our dads taught us are irrelevant when it comes to tournament fishing. If you're not using FFS then be prepared to be dragged across the scales by a couple of 18 year olds who have never skipped a dock or fished a creek arm.
You still gotta be good at both. FFS is the primary technique going right now though. It's tough to beat it. I'm sure you're seeing what's going on at the Fork event right now

Appreciate it. I like to teach anyway I can
I been fishing a swim jig just like slow rolling a spinner bait in deeper water and having really good results, especially immediate post spawn.
My mom said your building a house down by them! Don’t wanna say where but it’s in Cherokee county! I’m from Stilwell and raised in Cookson!
Thanks for video, Jason, got in jig fishing last couple years, but mainly flipping, wanting to learn more how to be a better swimjig.

Fascinated by JC throwing a swim jig on the 74 Cara jig rod versus a Cara Head Turner. 🤔

Appreciate that James
Man I like this time of year to get out there
Thanks for another great video. You have an easy to understand explanation of what and how you are fishing. Always enjoy watching you. Thanks
Appreciate it ✊

Thanks! Glad to help.
find the right trailer that gives it action that is equivalent to shaking the rod for skirt movement 👌
thanks for the tips on Ft Gibson lake
What size swim jig do you primarily throw?
1/2 oz mostly
This is one thing I have a harder time getting them to commit on. Thanks for all the great advice Jason!! Is there any advantage in that situation of using a bladed underspin swim jig or one of those screwhead swim jigs or is that too close to a spinnerbait not as natural?
I’m sure lot of things would have worked. Just comes down to the baits you have confidence in and the swim jig is one of mine
There's only a few channels I subscribe to, this is one of them.
Question: what kind of knot do you use to go braid to floro on the swim jig set up? My concern is having a knot that knocks a rod guide insert out.
Alberto knot
@@Christiefishing how long is your leader? Like I said, concerned about the knot popping out a guide insert.
Loved the video, what is a good swim jig rod that's 7 ft? I have a lizard dragger original bucoo and a bucoo trap caster, love them.
The 7’2” cara swim jig rod is a good option. Not sure on a 7 footer though
What knots do you use to tie braid to fluro with heavy lines? Thanks for the video.
Alberto is all I use for leaders
What trailers are you using for your swim jigs?
I've actually caught bass when swimming my casting jig in before there was any swim jigs but I own swim jigs now they absolutely catch fish you might even think its a big'en until you realize a catfish just ate your jig and is rolling beside the boat get ready to wash your hands and jig 😂😮
I know this is a old thread but I never heard perch were a bass worst enemy during spawn. So like a ring perch?
Perch, bluegill, sunfish. They all eat the fry
@@Christiefishing 10-4 Preciate ya. I thought you were sayin perch were more of a egg eater than others
Is that Yum chunk rigged sideways? I can’t tell. Thanks
No
Dang I believe that’s fort Gibson lake

I'm on the upper Coosa lake Neely Henry gonna give those suggestions a try in the morning....

Yeah things change quickly here in Oklahoma
