What you have done is simply incredible. I can't even fathom the amount of work, sweat and tears you must've put into the entire project from start to finish. I'm sure the people who came in will benefit from their experience with you for their entire life. lots of love out to the both of you
This isn't the end of the story, just the close of a chapter. Which all begs the question: what's next?

@@janegoodfellow1529 that's not a slight on the guys, I know they're intelligent, creative and passionate people. I'm hoping the setbacks they've experienced don't diminish those qualities like they have with some of us and they move on to bigger things. I'm just curious what those things will be.

Love the photos of the people who used the space over the years. Seems like so many community services are losing funding and closing 😢

Onwards to other adventures...
I closed ones a non profit (LGBTIQ) youth center, that I participated and co run... (city council, stopped the co funding) so I know how it feels to say goodbye to something that was dear to your heart... thank you for the service you did to your community and for doing the close up, properly even if it hurt...

What a transformation it was and how lovely all the people who helped you were! You made it such a welcoming, positive place under your tenure, especially for children. May the next occupants be as good to the building and the community as you were; the loss of "third places" makes centers like this essential to society. Time passes and things change, so blessings on this closing of an era, and best wishes to new endeavors, guys 🙂

If an investor with a whole lot of money was to buy the place, is there any chance of it being saved? And would you guys be up for running/managing it? Or is it too late?
The rent was the best part, as said in the vlog it was a peppercorn rent, but the running costs from small non-profits being charged business rate utilities, even when none are used, is/was just way too much. We don't have the time to continually apply for funding to keep a place like that going anymore. It will get rented to someone else hopefully, and will still be in use but maybe as something completely different.

Paul sounded very different 20 years ago. The place looked so much better after you guys took over.
You can really see the effort you both put into all of your projects. Sad that this particular project has ended but the good you did for the community will last in memories. 🩷
