Looks like you got a TLC job to do, I got an 1998 XR400R, had it rebuilt 5 years ago and runs better, did replacement parts costing about $2,500 especially for the engine, I always have mine maintained, some others don't maintain and bike depreciates, you may need a number of replacement parts. 😉
Since you’ve been through the process, you may like Part II coming soon. I didn’t realize that some critical parts have been discontinued. It’s been a little bit challenging sourcing what I need, mainly the crank assembly components. Thanks!
Enjoyed the build. Looking forward to watching the 2nd/3rd part. Just rebuilt my 07 CRF80F and was a fun experience.
Thanks! This was my first time opening up the lower engine. Figured it would be good to learn on a fairly simple bike.
