The Movie Loft was for movie lovers. Dana would discuss what went into making those movies, so we all got an even greater appreciation of them.

I remember this so well. They used used to play really high quality movies. It’s sad that there’s nothing like this on tv anymore.

I know some people would like to say they wish they could go back to the 1980s especially the early 80s but I don’t think they would want to. Think of all the things we would miss, but I did enjoy watching movies on channel 38 and I enjoyed watching Dana Hersey. Fun times and fond memories but I could never want to go back in time to that era.

I remember watching this film on TV38. What is interesting is that the majority of the films they showed were on actual 16mm film stock , like this one. Complete with scratches and a feeling of nostalgia. I miss this TV station.

I remember one of the competing stations put up a movie show later on where they marketed their 'advantage' that they had no host interrupting the movie. In the commercial they had an obvious Dana Hersey lookalike saying, "And now....for your pleasure I will juggle!" It was kind of funny--but I used to watch The Movie Loft all the time for Dana's info in-between commercials!

@electrogeek77 - NYers probably would have grown up watching movie programs on PIX and Channel 9, and a few others. The Movie Loft was indy, low-key, and ran lots of great movies. Also, un-cut movies and, kind of unknown ones too, with a lot of background info. at breaks by Dana Hersey. First place I saw Spielbergs' "Duel", and others. Guess you can only go back here on YT..
