Great to see Joni enjoying this, she is not known for showing emotion at other people singing her songs. The vastly underrated Cyndi not only demonstrates that amazing voice again but also shows how powerful understatement can be. Mariah has never shown this much emotion.

This song is so true, so real. And I love how Joni mists up as she watches "Nyew Yawkeh" Cyndi Lauper sing this classic in this video. And damn, Cyndi looks and sounds like Rosalind... and thank you Rosalind for introducing me to Sylvia a week later in Athens...

A unique and truly original cover, worthy of Joni but more importantly, Cyndi does an AMAZING job of pouring all of her heart and soul into this performance. I could have done with a little less of her body English, but Cyndi was feeling it and I'm glad she did too!

I only heard Blue Angel a few yr's ago and as a result found out how great her other stuff was,and is. I had no idea how many other things she did, and how good it is. Even her county covers are great.

I saw her do this a few nights ago in Niagara Falls. She went into classic Cyndi zone-mode, dancing the same way she is here. It was really cool. :)
