This is one of those videos that people will watch in 2100. It'll be like a blast from the past to them. Seeing a guy from the dawn of gaming spend 6 hours talking about Kirby lol. This is awesome!
I use these long retrospectives to fall asleep. I've fallen like 6-10 times trying to finish this video. It feels really weird when i surpass that place that knocked me down last time and start hearing about new games. That guy Kirby seems to really go around. Keep it up Jordan!
What a wonderful retrospective of the series. I've only recently become a massive fan of the series after I began to take a look at its expansive catalog. Funnily enough, the game that got me interested in the series was _Kirby Super Star,_ which I obtained by a mini-SNES that my dad got from a friend of his. Its chaotic pace, fun co-op, as well as its surprising twist boss, Marx (who had a memorably unnerving theme), were a great introduction to the basic Kirby formula. It got my cousin hooked on the series too, which why we bought him _Kirby and the Forgotten Land_ for his birthday, which only fueled my love for the series even more. Of course, who could forget the Kirby lore, which is genuinely wild and crazy. Fans have made the most out of the pause screen lore and the Mii posts made by the creators of the game during the 3DS era in order to craft one of the of the most baffling and complex narratives out there, complete with cosmic entities, lost ancient civilizations, tragic backstories, and a bizarre connection of every final boss (especially the Soul Bosses) with the titular main antagonist of the Dark Matter "trilogy" (Dreamland 2, 3 and Crystal Shards). If memory serves me correct, this shift to the lore came about Shinya Kumazaki's rise to series director. He apparently has a fondness for making cosmic horror art in his spare time, which is why most modern Kirby villains tend to be universe-ending cosmic entities in their final format. form. Aside from that, your video was a pleasant surprise, with very good humor mixed in with a great editing and narrating from your part. Despite its length, I was thoroughly entertained all the way through, and pretty agree with all your takes, except for the best OST award (yes, Rainbow Curse is great, but I personally prefer _Planet Robobot's_ electronic tunes). KING DEDEDE #1 FOREVER! He is the best character in the series, and I love how he went from a greed villain to a great hero and ally. Meta Knight comes at a close second though.
Haven’t finished the video (close to the end though) but I just want to say it’s so nice how much you talk about playing these games with your daughter and hearing about her experiences with the games! As a person who did also play a bunch of games with their dad as well growing up, it’s really wholesome and sweet!
Playing games with her is our best time together. We recently played through mario wonder and we had such a laugh seeing all the crazy stuff going on there. So many memories for me! Not sure she will remember when she's older but I sure will.

Great memories getting sweaty and shaking hands beating the Nightmare end boss fight on Kirby's Adventure on NES. Must been in 1993. Love that game stil and since a Kirby fan.
Small peaceful planet with national sports being samurai shodowns, cowboys duels to the death, trash talk puyo games and the olympics of destroying the planet in half with your fists. Kenshiro was contacted to join Pop Star and he ran away crying. Don't forget the local tyrant trying to be a dictator all the time AND the local dark entity trying to take overt the tyrant, the world and basically destroy everything. The nicest guy you will meet there will try to eat you in an attempt to gain your abilities
Disagree. While Squeak Squad could benefit from a re-do Amazing Mirror could severely benefit from modern kirby mechanics. It's so close to perfection, but its not.
@@wariocapproductions326 while I see what you mean and I would love to see it because amazing mirror is one of my personal favorites in the series I feel like out of the 2 amazing mirror has much more of an identity compared to squeak squad witch really surprised me on my first playthrough of squeak squad because of its great concept. Incredible retrospective my guy, you covered each title very well, and I appreciated you discussing what 100% entails for a lot of the spinoffs. It was structured so well, I even came back to watch it a second time. It's very sweet getting your daughter involved on the more manageable titles, it was because of that I was able to convince a game adverse relative to give Kirby a shot, and they've actually been enjoying a game for once. Keep up the good work, I hope you work up the nerve to attempt a project like this with another single franchise someday! Btw, I love Dream Land 3 over base Super Star myself, you're not alone, Shimomura nailed the atmosphere component with DL3 and K64.
I really enjoy that one. I think I appreciated it even more playing it for this video. I played it on release and enjoyed it, but it felt better this time around.
