    "I'm not here to get you laughs". Good to revisit a really funny one. Howard, love or hate him changed the industry. Albert Brooks; one of the funniest of all time.

    It’s Albert Brooks!
    Shut up for 5 minutes and let him get on the groove.

    Funniest thing Howard said was that he couldn't see why Carson was great, as he is stepping all over Albert for the 15th time already in the first 4 minutes.

      That's part of schtick. It can be funny to make the interview all about him. I'd rather have this Howard than interviewer man modern Howard

      You could really see how damaged Howard Stern was, but i couldn't hear when i was an avid listener back then. It really bothered Howard that he actually met someone who knew Carson and was disappointed Albert didnt agree with him

    Albert Brooks genius!

    This was before Howard let the guest talk. He just keeps asking questions and interrupting him. It is ridiculous the way he keeps shouting down Albert over Johnny Carson, someone who Albert obviously knew a lot more about.

    Back when Stern couldn't interview a rock out of a paper bag. Brooks is a genius and Stern steps all over it.

    Back when Howard was Howard. He's a different cat now. (Not that here's anything wrong with that.) Comparatively, he's tamed now.

    Seems to me that the only person in the world who could render a video with Albert Brooks in it almost devoid of humor is Howard Stern, and most annoyingly so! Albert Brooks could make Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner break down with laughter for chrissakes, but Howard Stern kneecaps and dismisses almost everything Brooks tries to express in this video, and (once again with emphasis) MOST annoyingly so!

    I had hoped Brooks had one more film in him before he eventually passes, but he's getting up there in age, and it's looking less and less likely.

    While i do like Howard, it hit me during his Comedians in Cars with Coffee segment that he is so personally miserable in his own skin that he isn't happy unless the people he is with are just as miserable if not more so. Maybe the only way he CAN be happy is to keep people uncomfortable, badgered, and always questioned as to their life choices. This interview is like that -- he clearly loves Albert but doesnt believe a thing he says because he doesnt want to believe that Albert's life is just fine -- because that means Howard's life is even worse than he had thought it was. Just a theory!

    Stern is so unbearably sychophantic. And he simply cannot let the guest take centre stage.

    All these comedians and they don't have pryor, murphy or carlin and he has ghallager 😂 ... stern was something, but he wasn't a genius. You can tell by what the show has become. It was groundbreaking back then, but now it hasn't evolved.

      If he's not a genius how do you explain his ability as a photographer, painter or chess player. Everything he trys he becomes great at in a short time. Sounds like a genius to me, and that's discounting what he did in radio😂

    • @darrenwendroff3441
      @darrenwendroff3441 10 месяцев назад

      You bring up some good points, I think my perspective of what a genius is is a bit different but you really bring up some good points. I think what he did in the past was genius, perhaps what it's become is not at all, it's just the same drivel it's everywhere else. Maybe that's why he seems to loathe himself and everything else because he knows he's doing subpar work. Also, most of the time when I'm writing a comment on RUclips I'm high so there's that :)

    Surprising to me the number of people who apparently don't realize that the old school Howard Stern Show wasn't supposed to be about interviews.
