- Here I am doing my rendition of Yes' Survival from their first album. This is the second time I've uploaded this, the sound seems to lose quality after RUclips uploads it. This version sounds slightly better than the first one I uploaded, but it still doesn't sound right.
RIP Peter Banks, who just passed away this week at 65 years old due to heart failure. Thanks for your part in starting one of the best bands ever!
I love Steve Howe's guitar playing, but Peter Banks is a much overlooked and very talented guitarist who deserved much more credit than he got! I'll always remember his playing!
Been listening to that song for 30 years+, love it. SOR w/ Jon Anderson recently did it as part of their shows (I went to the Collingswood, NJ show & met Alan White during the break). Excellent arrangement of the material, quality job all around!!
Chris, one of my all time favourite performances by you. There is something magical about the first YES album. I hope one day people realize how important a part Peter and Tony played in crafting the YES sound. Congrats again and keep up the good work. Survival and Yesterday and Today are my favs from that album.
This must have taken a lot of time and dedication. Watching this nearly brings tears. It makes me so happy.

Hey there, Ive seen a few of your videos and it seems like you are plugging your guitars directly into your recorder/computer.. Have you tried using a mic? I've tried both and I think the guitar sounds really flat when plugged into the recording device - It loses its balls! Cool vids though.

Sorry Randall, I wish I could help, but I learned this song by ear years ago and even then I didn't know what the chord was called. My suggestion is to try to figure out the fingering by watching the video. Good luck!
