Such richness in this content! I’m wondering if I’m the only one needing to set your videos to .75 speed for full comprehension…. 😅

Hahha! One of the most said things to me is I speak too quickly. But it's a real life quirk of 32 years! Hard habit to break.

Thank you, Stephanie! I do love my bookshelves and decorating with books in general! I 100% know the feeling of wanting to peek into someone's space, but I pretty much only film in this exact spot so our family space is our family space. Ya know. Internet and privacy and all that. ;)

@@thecommonplacehomeschool As much as I enjoy seeing how other people decorate, I can't tell you how much I respect you for valuing your family and your family's privacy like that. Kudos!

Had to pause to say, I've been wondering since finding The Commonplace why your name sounded so familiar. Risen Motherhood! Glad to have finally "figured" that one out!

Very excited for that guide! Autumn! You inspire me so much. I think the thing that's been so exciting for me to take from you and your content is just the DELIGHT piece. You bring joy and beauty to this space and infuse it into the Commonplace 😉. And it makes me want to bring that joy and beauty of this whole tradition into my home. That's the piece I was missing. Can I say I love you? I love you! Thank you!

So happy to have you in Patreon, Brooke! And glad to have solved the name mystery. (Love R|M!) If I can take all my classical delight which as passed onto me and pass it on to moms who pass it on...imagine that impact! That tradition lives on!
I can't wait to hear what you think of the guide!!

Forreal. This is awesome. So excited for the guide. Thanks so much! I love how you so gracefully/autumnly bring to light how we end up thinking of children so wise . This was a much needed comparison in our modern world. I think Mason mentions something similar, but doesn’t quite say if it’s bad or not 🤣

Oooh Mason, for sure, sees children as persons but immature ones, and she says their consciences aren't the supreme authority and are in need of education. She loves kids and because she loves them, she doesn't let them pick their curriculum/subjects or decide what's good on their own.

So excited to exhale today, that truth was wonderful. I needed that one. The reminder that it is possible to turn things around and that we as mothers have that special ability . This principle has been on my mind so much and I am thankful that you are speaking about it.

Yes! We can always turnabout; in fact, it’s the nature of the Christian life. Stop. Repent. Turnabout. Joy. Repeat. Now, to do it with our kids!

I love this video, and all your content. We're in our third year CM homeschooling, and even though we're lucky enough to have a local CM group, I have learned SO MUCH here! Also, I find myself NEEDING information on your stuff...like, this outfit? Also, your small leather notebook from the intro? So great!

    • @thecommonplacehomeschool

Corinna, hello! Outfit: my dress is from Not Perfect Linen but I customized the top (I mixed a shirt top with a dress bottom.) so I can't be more helpful than that. The shirt is an old Madewell blouse. I can't for the life of me figure out which small leather notebook you're referencing in this video but my guess is my traveler's notebook? It holds my mother journal field notebooks for each of my children and I found it randomly on Etsy!

sheesh. Can I also have a video on how to find the adorable clothes Autumn wears. I know it's silly, but I can't help it. She is my new fashion icon. lol

    • @thecommonplacehomeschool

Hahahaha! I'll tell you my secret: I have a very small wardrobe and that's the way to do it. I slowly bought six dresses I really liked from Not Perfect Linen and Son de Flor (I bought some used! Great tip!) and I wear them in a loop. (I really recommend NPL since they let you customize for your measurements without up-charging. Game changer.)
And yes, I get all of my "linen dress jokes" about the Charlotte Mason world from looking in the mirror at myself.

I think I will move it to the market on my website in a bit after I give the next guide to the patrons!

I think connecting the theological truths we know with practical methods is such a gift! It can really give moms a boost of confidence as they roll up their sleeves and get to work in the home! Double bonus: I love hearing a great tip from a fellow mom in the early years, but I'm really thankful for the thousands of years of wisdom from history that have all the proof in the pudding.

I really love your channel, Autumn. I’m an “old” mom, having done this for over 21 years now but with my last child just starting school. I have been reading back through volume 6 and, when my eyes just don’t want to work right, listening through your videos. I find so much encouragement along the journey in each one. You’re so intelligent and thoughtful, yet humble; a rare combination on this platform! Thank you for not growing weary in doing good and helping more mother teachers do the same.❤️

Hi, can I ask if you think we should explain the motto to the child? That it's something to turn to when we're not sure what to do or is that giving them the leading thought?
