I would love to see you get back to making videos.
I'm having a heck of a time trying to load a blade in this razor. I'll definitely try this method.
I am stoked for the se50 and the de version. Rocnel knows how to mix it up with design. And stainless steel. Can't beat it. I have the Rocnel se and love it. Great video and review.
Thank you! And you're exactly right. They have a lot of fun with design. I really admire the way Murat's mind works.
Thanks for your comments. Your reviews are guiding for us. Regards
Keep up the great work!
Great video as always Scott! I have to say that I felt a strange feeling of relief to see that with less than 10 Thumbs on your video, some goober had already had given you a thumbs down. I cannot see what anyone would dislike about the video. Just good to know that my channel is not the only one with random thumbs down. Though quite honestly, I don't try too hard and probably deserve a few.
I don't worry about the haters. People will do what they do. Thanks for your support!
Looks like an improvement on the previous design. Great review Scott.
Italian Barber, The Hawk will be CNC machined aluminum with a chrome plating (Both Head and Handle). Designed to be used with Feather Artist Club and Kai Captain blades. At a low $20 price! Damn... that could be a game changer for SE's. What do you think?
It could be. I don't much care for the design of the Hawk, but it will certainly be a bargain!
The Clean Shaver its the back of the razor, looks odd dosen't it, wonder if it serves a purpose?
Yes. It looks a little weird to me.
I think any time one has to have special tool( in this case the Allen wrench) to maintain a device( be it razor or electronic gadget and etc ) and that tool is small : easily subject to loss I find this to be a detriment. On the other hand a Allen Wrench( aka Hex ) is very easy and cheap to replace. My personal opinion is that the design is clever but a step back technologically speaking when compared to a Vintage GEM that a simple push button that "snapped" the razor open and literally locked the blade in correct alignment.
so glad you kept the beard - you had me a little worried
The beard will be leaving soon, unfortunately. It's a little too hot for the summer. I'm growing it for an activity I'll be done with in July. Expect it to come back for Movember, though.
+The Clean Shaver yeah the beard has got2 GO 😉 actually you look good rock'n the bald head and beard.
The razor looks like it's very good quality. Great review as usual👍👍
You should unbox and review the Leaf Shave razor!!
I just got one in. I"ll hopefully be sharing a video soon!
The Clean Shaver Awesome!! Looking forward to it!!
I just got my package from Leaf Shave yesterday. Can't wait to try it!!! Goodbye beard!! 9 days from the US to my hands in Dubai!!
The Clean Shaver been 3 weeks...
Interesting idea for a razor. My first thoughts on just seeing it here would be a handle that has the "set screw" permanently attached. That would make it work more like a two or three piece DE razor. Just some initial thoughts. Looks cool. Thanks for the try a blade shout out, was not aware of the company. I will definitely be giving them a try. (Yes, pun intended) Enjoy your videos, keep it up. Regards, Larry
Thanks for the kind words, Larry. Definitely check out tryablade.com. Very convenient service for trying new stuff.
Good thorough review. Subscribed.
Thank you!
I would agree with those that would not want to use a tool to align the blade and tension. I guess if someone is retired and can spend a lot of time doing this it would be okay.
Totally fair. For me, I recognize that I won't actually be swapping out the blades often enough for it to become a real issue. You could sidestep it if you wanted to permanently fix the set screw in your handle, however.
I expect I'll lose the Allen key pretty quick . That's an unfortunate 'feature'. needs a case with a holder for it or some way so it doesn't stay loose
The Allen key isn't included. I just happened to have a set on hand.
+The Clean Shaver To be clear does fingertight do the job but or is the cost of the head $95 + Allen wrench?
Fingertight will not do the job. You'll need the tool, but it's not included. The $95 is for the head and handle.
enjoyed the video. how does it compare to the mongoose, cobra, SE bamboo.
ps you're better-looking without the beard plus you have more to shave and to enjoy
I find it to be right in between the Mongoose and Cobra for mildness/aggression. It's not as mild as the Mongoose. As for the ATT SE, I've yet to try it, so I'll have to let you know when I do.
Do you really consider shaving under your chin a good way to review a razor? I thought you were "The Clean Shaver"!
The toughest spots to get a close shave are above the upper lip and the sides of the jaw around the chin and under the lower lip. For those of us who are inordinately piliferous and flocculent under and around the nose, that's another tough spot to really shave closely.
Okay. I have to admit that I needed to look up piliferous and flocculent. As a reviewer, I simply try to offer my insight from my own experience. The beard, at this point, will only be staying around for another 3 weeks or so. After that, I'll have a bit more feedback for you. Otherwise, I feel I do offer a bit of a unique perspective as a head shaver. As for shaving below my chin, I find the neck to be one of the hardest areas for me to get a clean, smooth shave without irritation. In that regard, this razor performs beautifully.
Wow ,can't believe you need a tool to change the blade. and you gave it how much for design ? a 9 wow. I find most of your videos very informative . This does sound like you are on the payroll.
Thanks for the feedback. In the case of design, I grade on a combination of actual shave function, innovation, and ease of use. Since I like the innovative nature of it so much, in addition to the shave, I didn't feel that having to use a tool to loosen the blade was that big of a deal. Especially considering that most of us leave a blade in there for at least a week while just rinsing it clean.
The Clean Shaver over the long term having a room is one extra thing you should not have to worry about. This does not have the user in mind for quick changes.
How is the aggressiveness?
I enjoy your style but I'm not a fan of a sales pitch.
I appreciate the feedback. What about it sounded sales-y to you? I'm not trying to sell products. Just review my thoughts on it.
+The Clean Shaver I watch shaving videos in the morning with my wife while we eat breakfast. She made the comment about a sales pitch before I said it out loud. If that makes sense. This one feels pitch-y for some reason. But don't worry I'm a big fan. 😀 so is my wifey.
+Kerry Kerr Thanks for the candid feedback. When everything sounds like sunshine and rainbows, I suppose it could make it feel a little pitch-y. I do have some qualms about the razor, but I can see where that would come from.
+The Clean Shaver I've written this before, I really like the point system and how you edit with the shave in the corner. We (my wife and I) watch shaving videos instead of the morning news. 😉 plus product reviews give my wife ideas for gifts. You do a fantastic job!! Family friendly and I appreciate that. Keep it up! K
Too complicated. A standard, old SE razor and blade would be simpler and far easier to use.
I don’t find that ingenious. If it were it wouldn’t be a hassle to load a blade
Why too much trouble
Just following up, you out of closet yet, or what?
