Just to be clear for those new to Duviri, this is not the normal way. The normal way is to chase it on the Kaithe and then jump on it by throwing the Orvius. To gain speed, it's important to use the Orvius to attack the orbs that are fired from between its antennae. Avoiding chasing it head-on is also a key because its breath attack is deadly.
This is the worst part of the game, by FAR. It really is terrible since you need so many Pathos Clamps for the Incarnon Genesis weapons and killing this boss is the only way to get them. :(
I see so much dislike for this boss here I agree, grappling onto the orowyrm is a pain, and the game doesn't tell you how to do it properly. Like how are you supposed to know to throw th orivius at a giant ball of plasma? With that said I find it really fun once you grab it
The dumbest mechanic in the game, I hope who decided with that lost their job and head. Awfully executed, worst piece of content, had no business explaining people how to deal with this piece of crap. I hope they just remove it from the game permanently
Random veteran walking in here to say that I'm surprised by how many people are complaining about this initial phase since I find it much more intuitive than the actual arena fight where good 80% of the decrees you pick are invalidated by the boss's design (no melee cuz too far. No status cuz immune to all procs. Hardly enough enemies for crowd ramping effects.) Would love to try this out even though I'm not sire how much it helps on sp since u still have to open the pathos valves. Thx for the video!
The value clearly lies in the novelty of having discovered a method that DE wouldn't have assumed. There were already plenty of very basic instructional videos posted before this one that newbies like you look for, but judging by the fact that those people are coming here first, maybe RUclips's algorithm doesn't rank them as highly now.

Needless to say, different guides target different players; there are videos not only for beginners but also for intermediate and advanced players. The main target audience for this video is people who already know the basics, such as throwing Orvius with the "shoot" button.

The game does a TERRIBLE job to explain what to do against the orowyrm, while being bombarded every 30 secs, dismounting you/oneshotting you.
Literally just quit the game because of it, it's so stupid
