I just recently change to towel grip, dude you don't how much I needed to see that end cap wrapping.. lol it is so hard to make it at right angle. Also that bump with cushion wrap is new to me too. wth thank you
I have recently just used an overgrip but it increased the weight and feel of the racket too much. Just curious how much the average towel grip weighs?
Electrical tape is for preventing any water form enter the wooden handle! And cushion wrap is just to get some comfort and a softer feeling so it won't be like holding a sharp wood! Hope that helps :)
You could! But it just won't be waterproof and I think Viktor used it for adjusting the thinkness of the grip. But feel free to test anything that works fpr you
I never knew of left handed grip and right handed grip. Always used a right handed towel grip which my stringer puts on. Do you really think as a left hander, left handed grip would be a difference?
@@shuttlefever8268 thank you so much for replying and thank you for adding information in which position you will follow based on which hand you use, thank you! very useful!!
the cushion won't makes a different! (but I've tried other brands one they're thinner so need more wraps) and for the towel only yonex's ac402dx are as thin as ac102 after done gripping other brands are thicker if you don't mind them
Hi I recently bought yonex DX grip off eBay Love it thin feels like a super grap but one issue am I gripping it wrong? I’ve used the custom wrap except the tape and I like it when it goes damp due to this I’ve got a cut on my thumb now? Shall I use less powder? Thanks
Hey! Love to hear that you're loving it! And sorry to hear that it hurt you:( from your description and my experience, it could be that the wrap is a bit too thin for your hand. Or! The wooden handle from the racket is a bit too sharp. Maybe another layer of the cushion wrap, or even the base tape will help it. Please let me know if there's more question:))))
Because they look flashy and they have sponsors so they use light colour so can easily know when the grip gets darker or changed colour they should change the grip
Yea dx ver is a bit rare if not located in Japan. Hmmm but if you want thin towel grip Li-Ning and victor has a thinner version too! Though I haven't try it before
Yup! I think starting on top will be better coz the starting point can be the same everytime and that will be good for consistency. However I think for us starting from bottom will be easier to learn :)
Because in single you have more work to do like defence and attack and sweat more while double you have less work as you know 1 player up front and back so you won't sweat as much.
excally the sweat is the reason! and it's faster to switch from grips, adjusting from short to long and forehand to backhand. But there's also some player using towel grip, I guess they just have really sweaty hand xD
poor way to grip the electrical tape and too much coushion wrap and then an already thick and heavy towel grip wil make the racket handle very heavy and the racket will becom difficult to play with.
Most of the professional players do not have well wrapped grip. They probably change their grip every week and imagine if they have 5 racquets to do that? Look at Lin Dan's racquet, he didn't even wrap the whole handler. The point is, just wrap how you feel comfortable.
I think Lin Dan might be a extreme example 😂😂😂 he has his “own” style haha. But at least from what I noticed most of the players nowadays grip their grip pretty nicely! 👍
This is the most majestic and elegant badminton video ever lmao
I love the way these videos pick on whoever is the popular player of the day. I’ve been wrapping my grips like this since before Momota was born.
Welp I’ll have to be honest part of it is for the views lol. I think without that title you won’t click in and comment:)

I'm glad it helped u! Join the towel gang haga
Yes, i suppose the towel will break cushion wrap underneath it, unless the towel grip overlaps a bit
Thanks. 2 questions , do you remove factory grip before applying electrical tape? 2nd, why keep end part bigger?
Yes! I always remove the grip.
And for second question, making it bigger will keep the racket fit in hand better so it won’t fly away.
Thank you for the video. Can you tell me the name of the brush you use in the video?
I have recently just used an overgrip but it increased the weight and feel of the racket too much. Just curious how much the average towel grip weighs?
For me I think it's between 8-12g
Hey I just wanted to ask that if I don't use the cushion wrap and electrical tape what will happen?
Electrical tape is for preventing any water form enter the wooden handle! And cushion wrap is just to get some comfort and a softer feeling so it won't be like holding a sharp wood! Hope that helps :)
@@shuttlefever8268 Thanks a lot!
Thanks, but instead of electrical tape can i instead use normal sports tape like in Viktor Axelsen's video?
You could! But it just won't be waterproof and I think Viktor used it for adjusting the thinkness of the grip. But feel free to test anything that works fpr you
have you tried ax99 , which do you like the most?
I never knew of left handed grip and right handed grip. Always used a right handed towel grip which my stringer puts on. Do you really think as a left hander, left handed grip would be a difference?
I mean anything works for you! there's no rules. But for me it just coz the finger will wrap against the alinement of the grip
Do I need to re apply everything when changing grip?
Not the electric tape but yeah anything beside it!
hello very nice video and description i like it but what string did you use to your racket?
Thank you! It’s aerobite for 100zz. And aerobite boost for the white racket!
@@shuttlefever8268 thank you so much for replying and thank you for adding information in which position you will follow based on which hand you use, thank you! very useful!!
No problem! I tried to add as much info as I can so everyone could learn doing it!:D Glad you enjoy the video! 💛
Does it feel bumpy during grip switching (from backhand to forehand)? Cuz I play doubles and mainly smash with back of grip
No! I mean the surface of the grip is still almost flat just like using ac102! just with a towel texture
Hey does it matter if i use a different brand cushion wrap(not victor or yonex) or a towel grip roll(don't have a brand)?
the cushion won't makes a different! (but I've tried other brands one they're thinner so need more wraps)
and for the towel only yonex's ac402dx are as thin as ac102 after done gripping other brands are thicker if you don't mind them
Thank you for the tutorial I messed it up😹
😂😂😂no worries practice makes it perfect
😂ok

Hello great video but is grip powder necessary for towel grip ?
It's not necessary! But personally I feel like the towel grip itself is a bit slippery. (especially the dx ver.)
You have to use the powder with towel grip...if not then the racket will be very slippy and useless.
great video!
Thx :)
0:36 the stopper can i do any size like my own preference?
Yes of course!
Does kento momota use dx or ex? Thank you if u reply
dx! It's the thinner ver.
Nice, thank u
No problem!
Good job guys !!!
Thanks!:D
Bro thought we wouldn't notice that's Victor Cushion wrap 😂
it cheaper hehe🤐
@@shuttlefever8268 I also use Victor Cushion wrap cuz is cheaper lol
Did you replace the electrical tape and foam grip everytime you change your grip. Or you just replace either one of them?
I only replace the foam! And if I'm using ac102 that kind of traditional grip I'll change the foam every 3 times instead. :)
What wrap did you use in the video?
AC402DX by yonex
Why pro player always use yellow colour?
I wonder that too😂😂😂 but Indonesian players mostly use red or white
Because they look flashy and they have sponsors so they use light colour so can easily know when the grip gets darker or changed colour they should change the grip
because yellow represents healthy poop
it's the default color of yonex
Thanks ❤️❤️
Good to hear it's helpful :)))
Ty for the video. I just wonder why we must wrap the towel in seperate ways for the right/left-handed?
It's because of how our fingers wrap around the grip! It wouldn't affect too much but personally I feel it more handy is wraping the same direction.
@@shuttlefever8268
Hi:)
Does it work without the foam grip
yes!
Late reply but can it work with the ex one?
Yes but it's a bit thicker
please if someone has an idea about what alternative can we use for cushion wrap?.
you could try using some sport tape but then it will still be slightly different
is ac402dx more expensive than ac402 ex?
Yea it is more expensive! But just like all the other products form Yonex jp ver is always more expensive (even if they are the same)
@@shuttlefever8268 ok thank you , I think I can give up to use the 402dx
Yea dx ver is a bit rare if not located in Japan. Hmmm but if you want thin towel grip Li-Ning and victor has a thinner version too! Though I haven't try it before
@@shuttlefever8268 well I just bought it
@@shuttlefever8268 what’s the thin towel grip from victor and li Ning please?
I think Momota doesn't use electrical tape inside layer because I can see wood texture in Momota's racket
oh yeah he doesn't! But coz we are not like the pros getting free rackets everytime they break it XD we try it have it as long as it can survive
This grip sizes is G5 or G4
G5!
Ive seen momota putting his grip by starting on top not middle , same like taufik hidayat
Yup! I think starting on top will be better coz the starting point can be the same everytime and that will be good for consistency. However I think for us starting from bottom will be easier to learn :)
0:35 . What did u mean by ur racket won't land on your opponent face.
well it will be pretty slippery if u sweat a lot and using a PU grip
Why most of single player using towel grip while the double use rubber overgrip
Because in single you have more work to do like defence and attack and sweat more while double you have less work as you know 1 player up front and back so you won't sweat as much.
But like me, I still sweat a lot in single and double😅
excally the sweat is the reason! and it's faster to switch from grips, adjusting from short to long and forehand to backhand. But there's also some player using towel grip, I guess they just have really sweaty hand xD
So Stopper won't let you land ur racket on ur opponent's face 😂😂😂
Just in case! Just in case 😛
poor way to grip
the electrical tape and too much coushion wrap and then an already thick and heavy towel grip wil make the racket handle very heavy and the racket will becom difficult to play with.
if u actually take a closer look, you will notice my grip is g6 and the Dx ver for the towel is very light, so none of the above have any problem
You really need to know how it's done before showing

Yup but all the other stuff and the look are the same so I think the tutorial is still valid:)

fake momota
This is a guild for people who want it to have it like momota style I don’t think fake is a fair comment.
