I'm using just a single layer of overgrip on my 15 years old racquet and I actually think that by not protecting the wooden handle helps to absorb some of the moisture from my hands. The grip gets really wet in any case, but if it swam on top of a plastic layer, it might be even worse.
yes, your sweat will stay on the surface of a PU grip or Overgrip when it has a layer of electrical tape underneath to protect the wood, it's your hands will slide more with that, but if you don't put a layer of electrical tape below a PU or overgrip, your sweat will be absorbed into sa wood handle which may damage it overtime, but the sweat will not stay on the surface of the grip, and your hands will not slide on it😢
I use hockey overgrip for my badmintongrip in the form of shammy or chamois leather. I use thin layers of gauze and a top layer of Shammy/Chamois. It absorbs well, gives a very good grip, it doesn’t stick on your hands. And it doesn’t stick to your grip so I can take it of very easily, clean it and use it again. Much more hygienic than standard grips that players seems to use for several years. It is very durable, I can use it for years, comes in enough meters to do 2 rackets with 1 package.
Love that kind of overgrip for the reusability factor. In my case I tend to wash regular badminton overgrips after few sessions so the textures get close to a peach skin sensation. Towel grips, specially the think ones, are gross despite providing consistent grip. It is like wearing the same underwear over and over but for your hands.

Sir, I just have a question. Some people always use electric tape on the wooden handle of their badminton racket to protect the wood from sweat, while others insist that it may damage the wood at last because this makes the wood unbreathable and increase fungal growth. Which one would you recommend?
If you wrap the tape well, the moisture woudn’t be able to seep into the wood in the first place. But if your application is sloppy, it causes moisture to get in and can’t get out. Essentially trapping the moisture inside the wood and fester mold
