Hi David, I'm looking to purchase an inflatable myself. Set on a 12' one. How do you find the 6hp performance on windy days? I would love the portability of the 6hp but im afraid 6hp isnt strong enough. 9.8hp feels safer to me but ya i would not enjoy hulling that around haha.
I honestly don't know because i only take my boat out when the weather is good, < 20 km winds. There was a rare occasion when i was stuck out in 30km winds with a 9.8 and it was fine. If you anticipate going far and in unpredictable conditions get the 9.8, it will make a huge difference in high winds and turbulent water. Good Luck!
@@DavidPhamChannel ah ya. I’m a few hours into my break in and I notice the same no matter how far I twist that throttle nothing else happens I have a very wide jon that weights 140lbs dry. It’s like pushing a block through the waters
None at all, its been great! The low weight and multiple carrying positions makes this the ideal portable motor. You can take it anywhere. Owned it for a few years now and have not had any troubles with it. Runs like the day i got it. Of course regular maintenance is encouraged.
Its the standard prop that comes with the unit. When i asked the dealer about prop adjustments they said there was only a single prop for the motor. Hope that helps with your question.
@@DavidPhamChannel i got the same engine that dealer wasn't right though u can get like 4 different props. I bought a 7 inch pitch prop wich makes me plane with 2 people on board. About 18kmph. The stock prop is no good with more then 1 person.
thanks for the vid, how long is your boat and what kind of floor does it have?
Boat is 11' long with an high pressure air floor

@@DavidPhamChannel Thanks for the response! I also dont plan on taking the boat out on windy days. Sadly i do live in a windy area haha. 9.8 it is!
Did you find the engine was faster after the break in procedure?
Never tested but since I can't plane (2 on board) any more power after half throttle gives me no additional speed.

Any issues with the Motor so far?

Do you know what prop you were using?
