Fantastic video! Every time I make a tutorial video, I get frustrated that I'm a one-man operation. Your video proves that even a one-man show can still produce fantastic results. I'd love to know more about your setup for that video.
Hey man I really enjoyed your videos on your bug, they are a really well filmed and put together series that are quite insightful. I hope to see some more the the car soon!
WilluDesign where did you go. I first started watching this series before you had the long break and just recently discovered you had returned to make a few more. The amount of time you spent on the production of these videos is impressive. So much so that I assumed that the point of the videos was never to really highlight the building of a Baja, but more to hone your film and editing skills. I’m sure your busy but an update would be awesome. Also a parts list for those of us who came here for the Baja rebuild primarily would be awesome. Great job!
Nice work with the use of the lights as a light source and using them to transition between different clips. It looks like it took more work to use that method, and I enjoyed the video even though I don't know anything about taking apart or reassembling engines. Overall, very artistic, stylized and fun video to watch.
Two things, first would be an aftermarket lower pulley with a sand seal. Second would be more of the tin. You are blowing air over the tops of the cylinders and not much more. Put the bottom pieces on. There is also a piece that clips on the bottom of the cylinders so the air doesn't just blow between them and straight out the bottom. Some of those parts look like they do nothing and are extra weight but Doctor Porsche put them there for a reason
I like the 360 pan! Really cool! The videos are great! Me and a buddy are like you, we make videos about a little bit of everything. We're not on your level with the editing, but we get a little better as we go. Both of us have a couple cameras go pros and DSLR. You got some cool stuff going on! Keep it up.
Muito bom esses videos que fez em especial esse ai ! super produção mesmo! eu estou montando um baja aqui em casa, moro no rio de janeiro, brasil e curti muito seus videos!!! parabéns!
Awesome editing and camera work Will. You seriously have to be one of the most original channels on youtube. Always entertained when I watch your vids no matter what your working on.
You have the ignition coil upside down. I saw Girls Garage the other day and one of them while installing a ignition coil said that it should be installed upright because it has cooling liquid inside. I'm not sure, check on it. I love your videos, this one is perfect. Keep them coming.
What are the cylinder barrel measurements? Are they thick wall like the stock 85.5mm barrels, or significantly thinner? I'm interested in building a stroker engine for a bit more grunt in my daily driver. The engine will be similar to stock except for the rotating assembly, so I won't be using a radical camshaft. But an 82mm crank is very tempting. The stock carb and muffler will be installed. Your videos are first class. I can't believe that you used that crappy looking blue crank pulley on a nice engine.I hope you change it.
wonderful as usual, Will. can you tell me what your process for finding legal, suitable music might be? i'm finding that to be one of the strangest challenges in creating videos.
hey! here we meet, funny how RUclips connects people with same interest together lol! I built a computer similar to your "Dave's Monster", your advice did help to built my monster. but I should have take the x79 pro to have 4 internal sata 6gb/s instead of 2... well I heard I can still use the Esata (6gb/s) to do my SSD raid 0. Have a nice one!
Hey man! I really loved this series, and I was wondering if you were going to make a video or a few of it doing its thing on/off the road. I want to build one myself, and I love these little cars.
really nice video, must have take you so much time to produce and edit? did you have someone to film or you just pushed record and start your work? well good job, I was actually just checking out the "video editing computer" and saw that one, very nice.
Hey love your vids cant wait for the next one. Just to ask you is that rotating machinism with the cameras custom if so would you consider filming a small vid about it and how you made it pls thx.
I was wondering, do you still do videos for one of the newegg youtube channels? This video reminded me of that unique unboxing style of video you made with the spinning thing on the table and everything.
Will really enjoy your videos... Now that the engine is reassembled and 10+ feet in the air how are you getting it down? I've never notice a crane in your videos that an handle t kind f weight. GAME Mob got it right...best technical videographer on RUclips.
i can only wonder how many hours it took to edit a video like this ... how are you going to take the engine down from there Will ? eheheh LOVED the video man, thanks!
I noticed that when you introduced the bug, it had a white metal shield covering the engine. Is that one piece? Welded together? Bolted on? Are you going to keep that? I want to do it for my baja bug, but have no idea how to.
Came for the beetle, Stayed for the cinematography. Nicely done!
A thing of beauty not to mention that I think your one of the top video choreographers on RUclips.
Had to watch again. So creative!
Your rotating camera rig is probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Nice job!
I am thoroughly impressed with your filmography talents. I have enjoyed your videos very much. Good job!

Loved that spinning camera rig. Would like to see more on that setup.

For some reason I can't stop rewatching this... :)
Really love this Will. You're easily the best technical videographer on RUclips.

Clever design - cooling the engine oil using a fan attached to the alternator, driven by the engine.
Muito bom esses videos que fez em especial esse ai ! super produção mesmo! eu estou montando um baja aqui em casa, moro no rio de janeiro, brasil e curti muito seus videos!!! parabéns!

Dude, I love watching your videos. You're great at what you do. The engine came together nicely, looks great!
I came here for the cinematography never am I disappointed
Joy!!! so much joy watching this in 1080P on my tv with chocolate ;)
Very impressive! Especially the 360 camera boom. :)
You have the ignition coil upside down. I saw Girls Garage the other day and one of them while installing a ignition coil said that it should be installed upright because it has cooling liquid inside. I'm not sure, check on it. I love your videos, this one is perfect. Keep them coming.
I've always wondered what that big shroud was on these engines. Neat little engine!
Your editing is impeccable man, seriously its so amazing haha.
I'm so dizzy now
Hey Will, next time try rebuilding your engine while hanging from the ceiling of a meat freezer and have lasers going off. That would be cool man.
I just love how you put those videos into one awesome clip :D
that was unbelievably good
really good work, i love watching this !
I did see you fixed the spelling error. Thank you. Great videos, sir.
must've been a pain to get the engine down stairs

Hey love your vids cant wait for the next one. Just to ask you is that rotating machinism with the cameras custom if so would you consider filming a small vid about it and how you made it pls thx.
I need some ear plugs and some Dramamine.
you should put a serpentine belt so you dont blow off fanbelts and get a better exhaust
Yay! More videos
this video deserves way more views omg absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please make a behind the scenes!! so we can see how you made this! :)
I was wondering, do you still do videos for one of the newegg youtube channels? This video reminded me of that unique unboxing style of video you made with the spinning thing on the table and everything.
Any videos out there that can show how to build a 2000+ cc engine? Was hoping this would be helpful.
geekdomo look up VwDarin on RUclips and visit the articles on Aircooled.net.

I hope Motors. The music in the video was exhausting though.
nice light posts!
Nice Video :)
wish I could do something this fun
Can you show how to make the super beetle spacers in the front to lift the struts please
Are those vertical light stands a custom job? If so, can we get a build video on them? If not can you tell me where to get em?
Your editing is getting pretty out there.
Cool stuff though.
I noticed that when you introduced the bug, it had a white metal shield covering the engine. Is that one piece? Welded together? Bolted on? Are you going to keep that?
I want to do it for my baja bug, but have no idea how to.
Awesome thank you so much!
i got dizzy from this. but still very good
What was it? I saw the other video and didn't notice anything wrong.
And how are you going to get it back downstairs?
Whats with the front pully you ran out of money. The coil should be mounted to the firewall so the engine doesn't shake it off.
hey what camara u use an what lens u have on them i want to get a good camara
Are you going to dyno it (for us)?
The only thing wrong from first upload was the title which said part 1 still as far as i know
Looks like you forgot to install the thermostat and cooling flaps.
Benjamin ..and ANTEFREEZ
SHINEY!!
this made me sick to my stomach with the spinning camera
what is needed to be done to increase the cc of the 1600 to 2000 plus even more
Steven Schultz Add 400 cc's ;-)
Does this plan involve ordering rockets from the ACME corporation? :D
LOSE THE MUSIC. talk thru what your doing. The music is kinda gay. And video too flashy for a Volkswagen motor. cheers
Too bad you never finished this series.
Re-upload? Why?
Wheres the install and first startup video.
These videos show you absolutely nothing about putting the motor together!!?? cool engine, not instructional at all!!! waste of time
Barry Perkins not the point
Holy fuck , that editing :O
I thought i was watching a video of the future...
What the name of this song?!
Oh ok haha I was so confused.
