- I loved the camera test for The Batman that Matt Reeves just tweeted out, but I was itching to see a bit more detail. So I decided to do a quick color grade on the footage to try and neutralize the red light. Enjoy.

@@sketchy4383 honestly I saw people were comparing the cowls look to the Netflix Daredevil (which to me it does look like it). But honestly it's not that big a deal at all. They both are made to be somewhat form fitting to a face, of course they look similar.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I haven't been this excited in years for anything Batman related. Not since BvS was I as excited as I am now. Not only is Matt Reeves a fantastic director, who obviously loves the comics, but Robert Pattinson has been churning out knockout performances for years now. I totally buy him as the caped crusader. The casting is awesome, and Matt Reeves is drawing inspiration from my favorite comic books of all time, Batman: The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Earth One. The score already sounds iconic, and if it's coming from the man who won an Oscar for scoring "Up", I don't doubt he'll do amazing work. I can't find one thing I don't like about this movie so far. It's a detective story that finally focuses on Bruce Wayne for once. The man the movies are named after for goodness sake! This could be The Dark Knight or Mask of the Phantasm level good. I wouldn't be surprised. This looks great already.
@Nick Lawson I agree. Paul Dano is a great choice for Riddler, and I can't believe I never even pictured him as a candidate. Plus, Zoe Kravitz is always a great choice.

It is an amazing movie, the music choreography was amazing but I’m still trying to decided whether this is my favorite Batman movie or if it’s tied between the dark knight, mainly because I grew up with the the dark knight but Ill decided for now I just want to say it was nothing short of amazing.

Agreed. The cowl looks like Bruce has stitched it together himself from leather. It looks practical and homemade. I love it.

With Robert there is something weird, like it's not creppy but it's more disturbing, like I didn't understand wtf was that suit and I say that it makes it more scary to not know what you have, like a criminal will not understand how this suit works, he will have to think about it, how can he find a way to hit him, but it will be alredy too late.
It's weird but honestly this is my favorite live Batsuit, it looks great.

and also, the suit is made BY him which has that hand-made tailored rough vibe, and we will see the next modified suit in the film too.
I like the more normal sized bat ears on the cowl, the tiny ass ones on the bat fleck version made him look a lot more like hamster man than batman

Not gonna lie, I was very skeptical of this at first like many were when Heath Ledger was cast as Joker in The Dark Knight. However, I have hope now. This batsuit looks as cool as the The Dark Knight one and looks heavily inspired by the Arkham games

The Batman is by far the best superhero movie to ever exist. The acting, to the score, to the cinematography, all of it is just so fantastic. This film has taken The Dark Knight's spot for me. Thank you Matt Reeves for making this beautiful masterpiece of a comicbook film, I'm excited to see what you do next with this wonderful world. The Batman gets a solid 10/10
I absolutely agree with your comment. To me, The Dark Knight may have been a great movie overall, but The Batman easily surpassed The Dark Knight as the best Batman related movie I have ever watched. I am super excited to see what Matt Reeves will do with this film series.

I'm not completely sold on the actual suit itself, but everything above the shoulders is excellent. That cowl and the creepy eyes already makes this a better design than the Nolan one. I think Pattinson is gonna absolutely nail this role
Eeeh, its the other way around. The suit looks amazing, but the cowl makes him look more like Daredevil than Batman. So everything below the shoulders looks good (even though we havent seen everything yet).
Nope. Everything below the shoulders is excellent. And colors are great now. But mask is not good. It is like part of leather jacket. Eyes look ridiculous. Collar is absolutely out of place. They need to remove it.

Sadly Pattinson is about 60-70 lbs too light to play this role. They absolutely MUST roid him up prior to filming for him to look even remotely intimidating the way batman should be. Batman is meant to be trained to the human muscular peak that is possible. and out brawl his foes physically.

This new batman..like the trailers and stuff..it gives a really dark..grim sort of..uneasy horror type of vibe. Which I fucking love, because if you ask me..from what very little that I've seen..it seems like they're really capturing the essence of batman.

I actually have a relative who works on the film and I already saw 25% of that. Unfinished.. Pre editing. Yet it's so EPIC. Pattinson does a remarkable job. The Cat suit is amazing. Paul Dano is scary and Colin is powerful

All I can say that you'll LOVE IT. His fighting style is very detective and less Affleck.. The style generally feels like a dark comic book.

I had the same feeling about Year One as well. The construction of the suit looks like an early prototype. But they've got to get rid of that gun on the chest. It looks stupid.
And as for the music, it sounds like the imperial march from Star Wars. What were they thinking?
I heard that, story wise, Batman is supposed to still be kinda new to the scene, so it is possible this is just a prototype costume. We’ll see where this goes.

They kept it red as they didnt want to reveal the actual colour of the suit and bat symbol.

It was also due to then hinting at a Valentine’s day gift on Twitter. This was the gift, hence the red color.
They kept it red to remind you of the terrible Daredevil movie
@The Battinson no Reaves did say the suit will be a more modern take on the 66 batman suit and will be more of those color grey and blue just look at that cowl it looks so much like the Adam West cowl so most likely it will be a more blue color

I really hope that "gun" was gold color. Always think batman logo have some yellow or gold in it.
I don't think a solid gold bat symbol would work very well at all. Especially for a beginner suit, which I assume was built to intimidate criminals more than anything. Maybe when batman becomes a super well-known and feared superhero, he'd opt for a more flashy suit, but not when he's only been batman for 2 years.

It could have used some eye enhancement like night vision "gloom effect" in the shadows then back to normalize at 50% as the eys hits the light. That would make it "complete" as your showing the eys at the end which are not appealing without a highlight in them
