You got to fix that bypass hose that is kinked. Throw some flat or Belleville washers on those bolts for the intake. Plus make sure they're not too long
Very clean everything, I like that! Did you start the engine with that opening for the pcv hose in the carburetor? Ran good? reason Im asking is that my 502 seems to run better once I disconnect the hose from the pcv, Im still trying to figure that out, the pcv tested ok, got a newone, will try that next time i go to my engine.
I did get the pcv hooked up and it does run a bit different with one. Not really sure why. I have been told to get only AC Delco pcv valves and that is what I get but still noticed a difference.
I wonder if a tall deck could use an even thicker gasket. That is what it seems to need. I think I got it stopped but not without a fight. The few engines I have put together I have never had an issue like this.
You can't get a torque wrench on the four inside bolts. I just try to snug them all up as good as I can from experience. I have all the parts I used linked in the description and the first comment.
Sometimes those cork endseals hold up the intake. Ditch, and never use endseals, rtv the china rails, and rtv around water ports, and somethin like gaska cinch on the intake ports. Done deal. Arp bolt sealer on all the intake bolts.
It's a tall deck big block. All I can find is racing intakes because that is what people do with these tall deck big blocks. I believe you can get a spacer and run a normal intake but that would mean two intake gaskets need to be installed. I will stick with this setup.

Sounds good buddy!
Just had the same problem too, but mines a 366 also a tall deck, I hope this gasket fixes the issue I'm having
I'm having the same problem as well. Did you ever fix yours?

I learned there are different spring pressure pcv valves z28 had real strong ones
I never ran the end gaskets always used rtv that seems to work the best for me

@@mossman381 I had a small block leak from tge ends before but not like your big block
Get rid of that cheap plastic oil line.
it will never run right without a hose on the PCV nipple on the carb. or a block off for now
Try putting some washers on the bolts for the manifold leak.
Some places would need a really small washer because there is barely room for a socket. Otherwise I would have put washers on them.
did you deck the heads the block and the manifold ?
Nope, it's an old good running engine from a farm truck. No leaks with the stock intake it had.
Plastic razor blades work like a champ to clean up
I usually use a real razor. Never have tried a plastic one.
how many ft lb of torque did you use to tighten the manifold bolts?
and what is the part # for the valve cover gasket? Planning on replacing the intake and valve cover gaskets on my BBC. thanks

25 foot pounds

lol..I pulled 5 bolts and washers from that hole
I am sure lot's of things have been lost in them.
Looks like insufficient casting material on the intake manifold
I don't understand the racing intake manifold, when everything else about this is stock.
