I’m from the UK and my first place I’d like to visit in the USA is Des Moines. To me it looks beautiful. If I were to visit I’d never want to leave. ❤️
You know what else make Des Moines Iowa a great place? I LIVE THERE! HA!!! All jokes aside, Iowa is truly a wonderful state, it is very peaceful, and also has the world's largest truckstop in the world too! Great list by the way! Sums up pretty much all (if not all) the great places in the Des Moines area!
They were right about putting our capital number one on this page.the most beautiful capital in the USA .and every twenty years when the scaffolding goes up you understand how important it is and what it takes to keep a 140 building in the beautiful shape its been preserved in.
Thank you so much you are always awesome with your videos and you always give me some new inside of want to USA is a simply amazing country. I wish I was 30 years younger to be able to go on a couple of years tour or more and still not be able to know all the rest of theirs in there. Your reading was lovely so thank you very much lots of love and blessings to you always.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful video, and very informative. However I must point out something. A couple of times the sculptures in the Pappajohn are referred to as by local artists. Actually they are by many world renown artists of international acclaim. Great video though.
FYI, Natchez Trace Parkway has nothing to do with Iowa. It starts in Tennessee and ends in Mississippi. It is a good drive, I was there a year ago and drove all 440mi. However, there's not much to see or do. It's where Merriweather Louis (Louis and Clark fame) died mysteriously, two gunshots, and they claim is was suicide.... yeah right. Nothing else, except a very long drive that you can drive on cruise control at 45-50mph and never stop. No signals, no signs, no driveways, no power lines or trashcans. Pretty scenic, but that's it.
Just a comment as I am from Des Moines. You started out with the Blank Park Zoo and said it's in the heart of downtown DM. It is NOT. It is south of downtown about 6 miles or so. You take SW 9th all the way south to the Zoo. In the scheme of things, I guess it's no big deal, but I do like accuracy. Otherwise, I enjoyed the tour and you did a great job. Thanks.
The Blank zoo is the second zoo. The first was assembled by a guy named Sonderleiter in the backyard of his pet shop on 2nd Ave. I recall that in 1952 it featured a geriatric lion that seemed to have a prostate problem. I don't recall any other exotic animals being there.
I can confirm
Since living here since I was born, all these places are great

Visited Des Moines last week. No vibe. Dead downtown. Incredibly boring. Great hamburger at ZombieBurger though!
I can tell Californians will full this place is so chill
Honorable mention has got to be the history museum
That place is young 1870 something young
Iowa is different than Illinois they have similar markets but I like how West Iowa is
Currently living in Texas but considering moving to Iowa also considering Minnesota and North Dakota
Iowa is so nice. Rural, cheap, laid back.
Great video !

I think Minneapolis is better. MN has superior geography.
Are they're racist to blacks there
Oh now it’s a great place? 😂
