It was in a way both an easy and difficult podcast to record last night. It was a painful game to sit through and ultimately talk about, but easy to break down and rant about in another sense.
Last night’s podcast was over an hour long as Matt Wiltse and Om Arvind called in Kiyan from the stadium. As a Madrid fan I saw it coming.I have been saying it all the time Ancelotti is a rigid coach that is why madrid can’t play any other formation except 4-3-3 plus we are so predictable,take Vini and benzema out of the game and what does it make madrid team? ,Average. We literally lost hakimi,Hernandez,llorente,odegaard,kovacic with Brahim and kubo on loan because we don’t know how to build a team.We have so many talents in castilla that don’t get the chance to prove themselves,I mean look at the way Barca has trust in their youth players ,acting as if getting mbappe is the solution to our problems.Ancelotti should be sacked ASAP he has no vision and is far from being a tactical genius.
Exactly, he was a good coach but his time is over. He can’t compete with xavi in la liga let alone pep, tuchel, klopp and nagelsman in the ucl
At lot of those players HAD to be sold to save the finances during Covid + have money for Mbappe.

All you guys are great but that young guy without the picture was absolutely spot on. Ancelotti is at present a mid tier tram coach. Modern football has changed on the last 5-6 years. And he’s stuck in the past. His inability to incorporate talented Castilla players like Blanco and Gutierrez and probably many more we are not aware of simply UNACCEPTABLE at this level of modern football. You run your starting 11 to the ground, get them injured then come up with a crazy formation totally unsuitable for these player in the Classico?.. Really??? … Come on man. Give it up….you embarrassed yourself, us fans and more importantly: the Club!
Tbh, madrid needs rebuilding starting from the Manager.
Am I too harsh to say that the upcoming Chelsea UCL tie can make or break Ancelotti managerial position with Real Madrid?

Man it was Sunday league coaching from Ancelotti.
Ancelotti is a one trick guy. He tried to change things with hazard and jovic integrated into the team in teh season beginning. Lost one game and went back to 4-3-3 with tail between his legs. He tried something different in psg, got burned. Tried an intense preses in the return leg and got bailed out by Benzema and Modric. We need a coach who is agile, atleast have a 2-3 winning formations/combinations like ZZ had.
I would say to Perez, pick up your phone n call Klopp
Klopp is considered a modern tactician, it will be nice to see what he can do in RM, but I don't think he has 2-3 winning formations. His Liverpool has the same system, they play in settled 4-3-3. There might be some adjustments as Om said, but I don't think Klopp change the formation as you want. Again, as Om said, I don't think flexibility of formations for the sake of it is what we're looking for. All these modern tacticians more or less have a traditional formation they play almost often. Players can change, but the formation persists. As the players know the system, isn't a problem to change few players. In contrast, Carlo wants to be flexible, but apparent he doesn't have the tools needed so his players can really master and play at least one of his desired styles at elite level. As result, we are doing badly a bunch of differently things (low-block, high-press, possession...).
@@felipejacknogueira i dont think he has no tools at his disposal. I think zidane had pretty much the same team and he tried a lot of things and was not hurt very badly. Atleast he never approached games spineless like we dis against psg first leg.
And regarding Klopp I think he keeps 433 but rotates players. He is good at extracting the best from all available players. Not freezing some of them. We are speaking with no knowledge of inside stories at RealMadrid. Still yea..
@@987rahulraj I agree about Zidane! He isn't considered a tactician, but I think he paid close attention to tactical aspect of the game, trying to minimize being hurt, while trying to hurt the opponent. In that way, Zidane won Klopp last season in UCL, even though Real Madrid suffered in the second leg.
Don Carlo looked like it was his first day on the job. What a shambles. It should be a wake up call to Papa Flo. We need much more than Mbappe in the summer.

@@TheMoeht91 I genuinely have no idea why nacho played on the left and alaba as a cb, they should switch and yes. We already lost rudiger now we need a reliable cb and an rb, probably Sergio Santos would be a good option and Miguel Gutierrez should start playing more
@@andarupramudito9998 nacho is great as a 4th cb that can play on the left and right and his spirit is great for the team, but playing against barca psg bayern Liverpool city they would rrpe his good for copa Delray fixture at max but playing as a 3rd choice cb and 2nd choice lb is a disastrous decision by itself
Btw Marvin> Carvajal, wish Marvin and Guti got playing time because Mendy and Carvajal are trash and are always injured
@21.33 GREAT POINT, during all our (La Liga...) success, one of my biggest fears was, what would happen if and WHEN Benzema gets injured. Jovic clearly isn't in Carlo plans, nor does he fancy him to give him what he wants own the field, and now look, we're trying to play a false 9 system when we haven't had a DECENT enough false 9 since maybe when Isco was playing at a high level 3-4 years ago. Carlo's use of this squad has been extremely poor, disjointed and somewhat unprepared, there have been 3-4 opportunity for Ancelotti to slyly integrate the squad players better into the system, style and culture of football that he wants.... I am so disappointed in how things transpired, BUT the signs were there, the signs have been there....

Actually Perez is the main man in question after this defeat first why we signed ancelotti after he managed club like everton and sacked by freaking napoli and let's not forget about what he did to bayern, second our transfer strategy yes we need mbappe but also we need a world class RB as carvajal is a shadow of his old self and solid CB to play instead alaba or militao if they get injured or you want to rest them ironically you won't have it with ancelotti,third all the deadwood and useless player in the team like Vallejo mariano ceballos jovic marcelo hazard bale asensio nacho and Vasquez.
i agree with alot but Jovic he plays 5 mins here there to save a game if he cant every one says hes no good he plays and scores & assist then hes benched again Benzy is out 3 games he still dosent start we play Bale isco etc as a 9 how do expect a player to build after that ? a few years ago Benzy was ordinary missing chance after chance being booed by fans yet if he keeps playing he gets confidence now look at him the rest are taking young guys mins like Miguel Arribas Park Peter Blanco
@@angelonikitaras2977 as i remember we loaned jovic back and hi didn't perform as well didn't even get game time that indicate the kid have problems, Benz had problems before as we all know but it's not the same case Mariano is 2nd option for a reason even if he's below our level but at least he run jovic doesn't seem interested in the game
@@angelonikitaras2977 plus the technical role Benz offered is far more greater than scoring goals he was and still the link between the lines and played for the team even at his lowest point i guess 2016 2017 when he scored 5 Goals that season he was providing spaces for CR7 to score
@@angelonikitaras2977 go check the first goal that CR7 scored against juve that summed up the work that he did for CR7 and how he moves in between the center back and take there attention to mark him while cr7 was coming from behind
was always on the cards Carlo lack of rotation and not playing Jovic Miguel etc to build confidence ...with this players havent built team chemistry and playing the false 9 has failed every time Jovic plays a similar game with good control yet we tried some weird shit that didnt look like it had been done before... KCM has been off many times and struggle with quick mids ... how long will we play this tactic ? what makes this worse is we have players like Peter Blanco Arribas Miguel who cant get 10 mins yet at Barca they would be regularly playing to be ready to take over yet we flog horses then throw in the players if they dont perform the coaches say see they arent good enough Zizou did this and now Carlo is doing it very disappointing i can handle a loss but this is always a game away with a injury or suspension

Crazy how all we had to do was play our classic 433 and play Jovic for Benz, we probably wouldn’t have won but the score wouldn’t have been 4-0 and at least players could play in their original positions, Alaba was playing left back, this isn’t 2015 anymore, Alaba sucks at left back, Casemiro was playing cb, Mili was playing cm, Kroos and Modric we’re playing as strikers when they were pressing, everyone was just out of position, just an absolutely trash performance, worst performance of the season without a doubt
We did what United did against city playing our midfielders as strikers and like United we also got beaten by 4 goals
Ancelotti out, let's do what Chelsea did & we might havee a chance to achievee something great. Splurge & get Ten Hag, he's out of the CL & we can be the 1st to try to get him instead of waiting till the end of the season... like how we did with Camavinga, instead of waiting for contract to end.
I do think Perez has planned to bring Klopp at Real Madrid in 2024, Klopp said he wants to try La Liga in the future... Salah contract's ending in 2024 too, same for Klopp. I don't think Klopp will stay at a club that refuses to keep a player he raised into one of the world's best, what sort of team or club would be willing to let go one of the world's best player for a bit of money? He doesn't want 500k, 400k... it's only 300k.
Issue is, Perez needs to know what rotting means. He's too old, too patient... there were no real signings because Mbappe, Mbappe... we gave up on so many talent because financial issues. He's too fixed on financial security for 20 years instead of footballing excellence for another 10 years to dominate. You can't wait till Klopp, Tuchel or w/e manager ends his contract... we're Real Madrid, we want you, you come now or not? Get Ten Hag, give him 2 years & see how he does & then consider Klopp or maybe, bring back Zidane... support him with signings to reinforce all positions & then we go forward. No Poch.
We should sign 2 good full backs instead of halland. Perez is doing the same mistake he did with galacticos. We can't have 2 players who are considered as next big rivals in same team .
We haven't developed our players even when llorente was here we didn't give him chances like we give vinicius.
Against PSG we won mostly due to the fact that they lost all their confidence when we scored unexpectedly and they crumpled like always , but against a team like Chelsea it won't happen. I hope we win .
Bringing Ten Haag is a good option since he will develop our youth players, but if anyhow Tuchel is available (I don't think so) we should get him
Is Miguel injured? If not why are we not using him . Why stick with nacho when Mendy is not available. I say instead of looking to sign halland we should sign 2 good lb and rb. Carvajal is no more what he used to be, he lacks speed and energy . Against PSG we saw this .
The success of clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea mostly depends on their full backs. Chelsea saw a dip in form when Reece and Ben chillwell got injured.
We should give our youth a chance , camavinga , blanco should be given more game time since the league is almost finished.
If Tuchel is available next season ( considering situation in Chelsea) we should bring him in.
I will say this, 4-0 was a honestly a very very modest scoreline... it should've been 7/8-0, easily, that was a tactically shyt show.... our team was totally outplayed, outclassed, out hustled, whatever other superlatives you want to use, you name it...
We need a better squad management, KCM cant start together anymore, the team is calling for legs in the midfield Fede needs to be a starter everytime with Camavinga coming on as first sub, why is Miguel Gutierrez not being utilize when we need a left back, we need a midfielder (Tchuoameni), and we desperately need a right back, Carvajal has been a disaster all season. And most importantly, who do you replace Benzema with, we can't rely on a 35 yr old ST for a full 60 game season. Where is Jovic, Hazard, Ceballos they can surely help the team a lot of thinking needs to be done.
Exactly, we have miguel who is solid good but instead carlo played nacho on the left back it’s a disaster, i hope reguilon comes back next season or we can rely on out youngsters Miguel Gutierrez and Sergio Santos

@@andarupramudito9998 Miguel has a lot of potential to be a good back up needs work defensively speaking but its a lot better than having to play Nacho there. And as much as we hate to say it KCM are not it anymore, if we want to press we need Fede to be a starter.
@@marvmg i agree, anyway mendy can be the more defensive fullback so when Miguel moves up he can form a back 3 with Eder and Alaba. Nacho as a leftbacks is disastrous and Carvajal is injured a lot these days

Now the question is who should replace him? Raul would probably be a good replacement if we want to build a team of youngsters but there are some good options as well
@@andarupramudito9998 he should be sacked after the end of season. he doesn't have any philosophy. Look at Barca they bought Xavi and he completed turned around Barca. If we have to compete with them at and win big titles then we have to sack Ancelotti.
I don't know if raul is fit for this job. of course he has Madrid DNA but I certainly wouldn't want him to be next Pirlo.

Let's be honest ancelotti was finish as top coach years ago, with his old killer mistakes that costs us the league and cl in 2015, playing with the same team every match substitution are late even when we're winning the game comfortably, the whole team is drained physically and mentally, the bench player are not integrated in case of injuries and if any player miss a big game we will get in big trouble plus his only way in to counter attacks against big teams
He did the same thing in everton too, played well until january and the no rotation policy made the team lost chemistry and intensity after that

@@slippageenigma1939 agreed,but what I meant is that we are acting as if getting mbappe is going to solve our problems.We should have signed one of those guys this season at least to play the rw or kept kubo so that in case we don’t get mbappe we go in for Haaland knowing well that at least we have sorted the right wings.

Ancelotti game plan is out dated , keeps using same set of players why? We need more than just mbappe or haaland, we need to boost other positions .
This loss could have been averted if Carlo had played Marcelo instead of Nacho and Gareth Bale instead of Rodrygo. Isco and Jovic could have played an important role as super subs.

@@d7aconic One good clasico won't make dembulance's transfer to Barca successful. The man has been severely underperforming ever since he joined Barca. Marcelo would have handled dembele pretty well, on top of that the link up play between him and Vinny on the left flank would have stretched the Barca midfield and defense.
