In this video I consider the full probabilistic treatment of Compton scattering using the Klein-Nishina equation to get the distribution of energy transferred to electrons during Compton interactions.

Thank you for your awesome python tutorials! 🤩
Thanks Luke, what a fabulous way for viewers to gain intuition behind Klein-Nishima, and by extension visualize probabilistic energy transfer from a photon to electron through Compton scattering in 3D space. Intuitively helps people understand why high energy (UV, x-ray) photons are also called “ionizing radiation” and why they are more likely to damage tissue and DNA in our bodies than low-energy photons.
Excellent presentation. Yes, it took a while to work through the code, but it sure is an interesting way of stimulating an interest in Physics, while at the same time getting a tad better familiarised with Python and Jupyter Notebook's Markdown editing.
Keep up the neat work; very cool stuff!
thanks so much, man! you are our hero!
Wow!! nicely explained! good job!
Thanks I will use it as a project for my university, I hope you don't mind greetings from LATAM. :)
Hey man I love your meme videos, but I'm very lucky for this tutorial. I'm starting a thesis about deep learning applied to image restauration of images aquired by compton scattering (the sensor if often called the Compton Camera).
It really helps having someone detailing these equations :)
Edit : no way I checked your research and you're actually working on nuclear imaging with AI too :D
you become my most beloved yutuber within 2 days☺ . Ur ultimate legend
Great video! I love being able to play around with the code as a way to better understand the subject. Thanks for freely sharing both.
amazing to this guy!
very nice.
Yo, you are awesome.
Thank you, this is very interesting! :)
Can you make a simulated Mie scattering tutorial?
Great insight into the KN formula and process. I could use your help ($) with pretty much the same project with python. Is there anyway of reaching out to you?
I can't wait for the integration of Biology and Technology. Artificial intelligence computing assistance in tandem with the brain. The missing link.
Thank you. I am a high school student so sorry about my ignorance. My teacher was teaching us something and he used geogebra to do so. It was very good simulating what he was trying to convey. I just wanted to know that why can't we just use geogebra instead of python to solve physics and maths problem because is so much easier. What is it about Python that geogebra can't do? Sorry about my ignorance.
Thank you.
Thanks for the video ! I think you made a typo at 11:17. The dsdo expression doesnt match the one that you wrote in latex.
It seems the typo is actually in the Klein-Nishina formula at the beginning of the video
Could you make a video tutorial on Python's Pandas package?
Sir,
I'm A Thirteen Year Old Boy From India. I Love Your Videos But I Want To Start Learning Physics. Can You Recommend Me . Where To Start ? .
Please Sir
Hey man, keep learning your curriculum syllabus till you are at 12th class class physics. Do lots of classes and watch youtube videos to visualise. Build your intuition
. You have to have strong fundamentals, don’t rush things.
This topic is taught in the first year of your engineering/science degree under introduction to modern physics.
