At the time, it was the world's fastest street legal car. Today, it is a legend in the automotive world. No matter which way you look at it, whether it being a homologation counterpart to the Porsche 961, or a car that was banned from America for 25 years for it not meeting NHSTA safety standards, the Porsche 959 is a piece of automotive history that runs fast and looks and sounds good while doing it.
The 959 is a Tier 3 Supercar. At surface level, it seems like an all around average supercar; it has good acceleration and good handling, at the cost of average speed, nitro and durability. However it's important to note that the car, having a higher ground clearance compared to other supercars, can take full advantage of off-road shortcuts and evasion routes, with little effect to its performance when compared to on-road.
