Poor heat treatment or too much extractor tension. I normally don't see extractors break that early unless the bolt face is reamed out for a larger cartridge base like 7.62x39. I would get a colt gold/sprinco extractor spring and not use the o-ring insert when you get the new extractor. A heavier buffer/spring can delay unlock timing and reduce the wear on the extractor.
Thx I ordered a few replacements yeah I heard nitriding them takes 1000 degrees plus which makes them more brittle which negates the initial heat treatment thx for your input btw what is your twist rate on your FN 20” barrel mine is 1:8 I got a video on those 53gr vmax.223 superformance got a coyote with it too and a 320 yard water jug test also I just need to edit it before I upload it I was getting 3445 avg MV out of a 7 shot string with my magneto speed they haul @$$ for.223 thx for watching
I already fixed it myself I ordered a 3 pack of extractors from Sanders Armory I called BA a few times a day and left messages 2 days in a row never got through or heard back I don’t think they are going out of business thx good day
@@bnicedanicest6288 I have a Sanders as a backup bolt. They seem like a decent company. I should get rid of it and put it towards a JP Bolt, but that's a future me in issue
@@jdrollason I built mine with an aero bolt and had to replace it because the locking lugs were getting peened and wore. Bought a JP after purchasing a few others that were out of spec.

@@bnicedanicest6288 those vmax are screaming from a 20" barrel! My FN barrel is 1:7 twist, hope to see that video and the results soon.
Not necessarily ballistic advantage fault, 6mm Arc and 6.5 Grendel are hard on extractors. I keep an entire spare bolt in my grip.
Thx for the input yeah keeping a back up bolt for an AR in any caliber is a smart precaution I have some spare extractors jic happy holidays
6 Arc is tough on bolts. It uses a much thinner bolt than 5.56.
Yeah. BA/Aero owes you a new bolt although they may just send a new extractor
