I've always loved this Christmas carol. The first verse paints a picture of a cold we can't picture unless we're from the far frozen north or Antarctic, I imagine temperatures between minus-40 and minus-60 and then in the subsequent verses I still picture that freezing cold. I've loved how evocative it is
Thanks very much! I think that this particular arrangement of the tune makes it even more mystical than the original one. It is a short but well written meditation 😊
Paul Fey is a very cool composer! And very young and handsome! It's very touching to hear his music through your performance! The calm performance is excellent!
Beautifully performed, DP! It's always a joy to listen to you play on this incredible instrument you have and once again, you hit the jackpot with some wonderful registration choices to showcase Paul Fey's superb music. Bravo!
Thanks Jerry! The divine thing of this instrument is that I can choose the best stops for the piece every time. I basically have a continuously changing voicing! 😃
What a beautiful performance of Paul Fey's wonderful setting of Holst's poignant melody, 'Cranham' (named after the village in Gloucester where Gustav spent his childhood). Your registration choices - especially the strings - reveal your exceptional abilities with digital voicing to customize this instrument and create sound that is equal to any pipe organ I have ever heard (and vastly superior to most!). You play the music so sensitively that you capture all the emotional power that is carried in this arrangement, making for a fully immersive experience: bravo!
One if my favorite Christmas hymns! How awesome is that you can voice your organ for your liking. I think you are incredibly talented. Bravo, my friend!!!
That' s making music 💖Really mystical, your sound design is overwhelming and such an expressive final chord is very special.(Slightly out of tune with each other, so floating.).🤜🤛👍
Very beautiful rendition! Great sounding organ! I have just came across your very interesting RUclips-channel. (and subscribed ;-) ). Many greetings from Germany.
Just beautiful, Paolo. The combination of Oboe and tremulant is very nice, the tremulant sounds very realistic . Which certainly isn't often the case on digital organs. I suspect you tweaked it somehow?
😄😄😄 Paolo = master tricker!!! Believe it or not, the tremulant is the only thing I have not tricked out on this instrument! It also has some parameters that one can change but I found that it was working fine by default so I never had to manipulate it 😉 Thanks for commenting, Ralph!!!
Those stings are wonderful.. and that Oboe.. wow!! Thank you so much for recording the piece!
Thanks for writing it, Paul! 🙏🏻

Beautiful. This piece reminds me of the Washington National Cathedral stained glass windows reflecting on the organ during morning prayer there.
Wow! That’s a very inspiring image! The music is very inspiring and it was very pleasant to play it 😊
