For the first time, the doors of Freddie Mercury's home (known as Garden Lodge) have been opened to the public in a one-of-a-kind exhibition and auction at Sotheby's in London titled Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own. All of Freddie's belongings, including furnishings, clothing, musical instruments and more, are on display in Mayfair before going under the hammer in an auction that is expected to raise millions of pounds.
In this video, you will visit Freddie Mercury's house in Kensington before joining Sinead on an incredible visit to Sotheby's to see all the items that are up for bids. This is a revealing look into the private life and mind of one of music's most famous - but private - individuals. Bought you some coffee thanks for your positive energy Sinead 😀
@@lunis471 just saw that thank you sincerely lovely x
Sinead
Not only was he a Rock’n Roll genius, he had good taste as well 🤩
Not as good as Elvis Presley
@@jeanettenfreeland1408ummmm 🤔
@@jeanettenfreeland1408why do you need to compare? It's not a competition. Plus, in my opinion, that's like comparing apples and oranges. For the most part, they were producing completely different types of music.
Oh, Sinead this brought tears to my eyes. What a magnificent collection of Freddie’s personal things. I can only imagine what it was like for you to see them in person. I am very aware of his need for privacy, but I am hoping and praying that some million or billionaire buys most of his more public items, costumes, gold records, crown etc and donates to or starts a Freddie Mercury/Queen museum for all fans to see and enjoy. Thank You so much for showing us these fabulous treasures. 👑🎤🎼🎹💜
There will truly never be another like him. I'm glad he is still so loved and appreciated. I got goosebumps when I saw the Bohemian Rhapsody piano. ♥ Thank you as always Sinead!
Glad you liked this one, Allie!
Thanks Sinead for allowing us through your video to visit this exhibition of one of the greats. I was lucky enough to see Queen twice. Freddie was such a brilliant front man, he knew how to get the audience in his hands.
SO lucky, Colin!! We are envious.
MUCH love, Sinead. Thank you very very very much for visiting this pre-auction exhibition. Just how beautiful Garden Lodge is. A green oasis in the middle of all those grimy looking buildings. Plus, Fred's stunning taste in everything from art to fabrics. Fantabulousa.
Glad you liked this one!
The curation was exquisite! It was presented as a museum rather than an auction lot by lot tour. Seeing all these things together just makes one sad that Freddie didn’t live long enough to benefit from the medical triumphs over HIV we know today. He was a gifted man. We were lucky the world loved him as big as they did while he was alive. Very sad for Mary I’m sure to part with these things but it is certainly understandable. I’m curious what she might have held back for herself. Thank you for the update.
That was an amazing tour, thank you Sinead. Freddie had the most incredible voice I've ever heard.♥
You deserve a medal for standing in that queue Sinead, well done !
A distant cousin of mine was just there this past week. Loved all of her photos. What I wouldn't give to be able to buy at least one thing of his. Absolutely love Freddie!!!
Thank you very much for this beautiful tour. I send Love and Blessings to everyone at Sotheby's. Freddie's lifetime of possessions are exquisite from what I've seen. I'm so very happy to be able to see on the Internet, and from across the World!!

Glad you liked this one, Leonora!
What a collection. Fascinating Thanks again.John in Chicago
Freddie was a legend in his own time. Thank you Sinead for sharing this
The legend, Mr. Farook Bulsara a/k/a Freddie Mercury! Love it.
GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU FOR THE TOUR OF THE GREAT FREDDIE MERCURY!! I STILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY ...RIP FREDDIE ❤❤❤
Well this was bittersweet. So sad that he died so young and to remember that we lost a legend. To see his life and the nostalgic feelings of memories and the private side we wouldn't of makes this tour video one of your best. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed this one so much :)
@@FreeToursbyFootLondon truly did, because I won't be able to go to this and I would of loved to, but you took us and was very appreciated.
Great vid Thankyou ! ..The sheer fact Mary did not sell it all on before speaks absolute volumes , she kept her word 🙂
Hi Sinead, thank you once again for this amazing video. Wow!!! What a wonderful exhibition of all of Freddies precious possessions, I hope they are looked after in their new homes. Much love from New Zealand x
Hiya Sinead, WOW! Thankyou for sharing. Agree with what you said a true loo to music can only imagine what he would have created in the past 30 years! Blessings luv Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
such a great tour you took us on today
Stunning video Sinead as usual, you have captured his spirit in this video. Can’t thank you enough, I loved you showing his quote how he wanted to bring happiness to folk and my favourite piece was the juke box. Excellent work my darling xxx
Thanks for your support, as always, Jon!
Omg Sinead, what an experience! I've been watching everyone's videos and I think you are the first I've seen to show the mustache comb. He certainly did surround himself with beauty. Sothebys did an extraordinary job creating the displays. I opened an account to be able to bid but most items are now beyond what I would pay, still going to watch the live auctions. this is going to be record breaking.
I LOVE Freddie! I SO wish I could be there to witness this in person. I can only hope that his items go to true fans that will love his things as much as he would've and not just to people who buy for money value.
We hope so, too!
Wow! Thanks so much Sinead!!! Felt like we were walking through together with Freddie. Continued success x
Glad you enjoyed this one, Sandy!
Thank you for this tour….amazing man amazing life.
I liked so much to see this fantastic collection of one of my favorite singers. I remind when Queen came for the first time in Brazil, I was going out of college on night of beginning of show. Freddie Mercury simply brought all to delirium. Your performance was amazing. Nobody can substitute your way and your voice, he's unique. Till today the musics are ahead of your time, as when used in Flash Gordon movie. Thanks you Sinead for the amazing tour 🤩👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So glad you enjoyed this one!
The love of his life awe they stood by each other in their solid friendship and soul mates how wonderful. Freddy would support what she's doing I'm sure and she has all the memories she wants of Freddie that's for sure. Wowza you surely come up with the good Sinead you seriously know your stuff. If I ran a show I'd want you to be the top presenter in it!!
History is beautiful to us...mostly ;)
Hello, beautiful Sinead! Very interesting this video today. It's very exciting to see so many objects from Freddie Mercury's career gathered in one place. And seeing his house has been very nice. And I've also seen you filming, you looked very focused! Thank you for showing me London like no one else. Many kisses for you and, let's see what you surprise me with very soon! See you soon, gorgeous! ¡Ole, Sinead! ❤❤❤❤❤❤😘😘😘😘💋💋💋💋
PLEASE do a tour of places that members of Queen would've had connection with in the past such as colleges, places they have performed and lived, the place where Freddie and Roger had their little shop at the start, places they ate and hung out ...anything you can think of pertaining to them. It would be an awesome tour!
This is definitely on the list :)
Thank you Sinaed, once again you have brought us a fabulous video. Freddy was so talented in many arts, his music was something that still gives me goosebumps listening too. 💕🇦🇺
Such beautiful artwork. The Cat collection is stunning. Don’t get me started on his clothes. Loved this peek so much.Without you Sinead,I would never see this. Thank you so much!! ❤️🇨🇦
I love Freddie Mercury. Queen is and has always been my favorite band. He was one of a kind. I wish I could have seen them live. Thank you so very much Sinead. Rest In Peace Freddie Mercury.
Thankyou for sharing this with us, such a very special event. Freddie was one of the greats I felt a little sad seeing his life within his personal belongings what an incredible impact he made.
Grateful that you shared this with us, less fortuned ones. Envious, but not jealous. Thanks, sweet lady.

Hi From Washington DC, USA. Thank you for the tour!!! I saw this was going on in London for a short period on the news, and I was I could have visited there. I’m so happy to see your video. Thanks.
We are glad to share it with you :)
Freddie❤ Thank you for this very special tour.
Our pleasure, Michelle!
Thank you so much Sinead.
During the height of this covid pandemic some the significant activities that kept me sane and going were: listening to Queen music and their stories, found Cole Lam the young lad at that only about 12years old playing extraordinary rendition of Queen on piano, and following you , wonderful Sinead, walking on foot for us all over the wonderful places in Great Britain and sometimes out. Thank you always. xx
We are glad you found us, Eden!
Thank you for that look in to Freddie,s life, and stuff , there will be some crazy prices at sale
To be sure!
An amazing video showing the incredible wares of Freddie. I went on the last August Saturday. Blown away by the vast display. I want to watch the auction.
Us, too!
Thank you so much for doing this!!! I absolutely love Queen. Got a little teary eyed seeing Freddies things❤
Now I would like to say Why not have everything in his house remain there and make it a museum for ALL to see in the coming YEARS .......with things being auctioned off again it will be the WEALTHY who will enjoy Freddy's possessions as they purchase them CONGRATS AGAIN ELITE
Glad you enjoyed the video, Emma!
Thank you so much. Massive Queen fan
You are most welcome, Stephanie!
Hi from California. =) I'm not a real fan of Freddie/Queen , but I do like a few of Queen's songs, and I thought this was a very interesting video of the exhibit of the upcoming auction. Definitely gave a glimpse into Freddie's life in a more personal way. Thanks for sharing!

@@Posey12345 Like Elvis’s Gracelands you mean? I’m not sure Freddie would have wanted that. I must admit that did cross my mind as well. It would have been nice, if they had made a touring gallery exhibit, of some of his personal artwork and costumes though. I think he would have approved of that.
@stevecross5444 Yeah maybe not like Graceland, but a gallery exhibit absolutely. Now all these beautiful items will disappear out into the world :(
Just beautiful! Extensive. Thank you so very much, Sinead.
Thanks so much for the tour!!

Awe Thank You So much for the Tour I Loved it So....Much!!🤩🥰💖😊

I believe you’re telling a tall tale about Freddie dying 32 years ago (I know it was 32 years ago). I remember it as though it were yesterday. He’s the only celebrity death I’ve ever shed a tear over, none before or none since.
He also didn't live at Garden Lodge for 11 years. He bought it in 1980 but it needed so much renovating that he didn't move into it until 1985.
I am happy Sotherbys made the book for us fans to purchase
Thank you so much for the tour I really enjoyed it and I love your voice and personality I really would like to see you again I was hoping it would be a part 2 of Sotheby's but I guess maybe it was too crowded or something 😁 but I would love to see some more of your vids again thank you so much 🖤
I went last Saturday and I loved it ❤ it's really sad it's getting sold off. Wish a museum would save the items
I have little interest in trivia of celebs but this is a well presented excellent video tribute to Freddy.
Glad we could win you over with this one :)
I will miss you forever Freddie.
I only found this today😢 you do take us to some great and interesting places Loved Freddie love Queen 🇦🇺
We are glad you found us, Jennifer!
Thanks for the comprehensive tour. So sad that I wasn’t able to get to London, but did see the Freddie Mercury capsule at Sotheby’s NYC. Now, let’s see if I can actually buy anything on auction day (doubtful). Regardless, it’s nice to have a narrated visit!
Good luck with your bidding, Mary!
Thanks!

Sadly ,Freddie himself didn't want his things or house to become a shrine to him and said so to a few of his friends.I don't think he took himself that seriously really.
@@jodawson5268 He may have said that....but in the end you and I can't afford anything in there...expect his belongings to decorate the rich folks mansions and they will certainly show it off.
@@jodawson5268 So the Elite buying his stuff they will not show it off to others that is worst than NORMAL working class people to enjoy the "MUSEUM"
You aren't the only one who feels that way!

Special thanks to Mary Austin for her foresight and wisdom, who carefully maintained these items for 32 years and even put the door of the house up for sale!!!
