(RIP) Amazing Original 1950's Unknown Brand Bottom-Drive Traction Lift

  • This was filmed in 2017, and sadly this has now been completely molested, the only remaining feature being the car itself, although it's been completely modernised, you can only even tell it's the original car due to the curved back wall at the top.
    I've no clue on the brand on this one, possibly a smaller firm using generic (for their time) buttons? Absolutely love how original this was, with a mostly working original indicator too! Amazing motor sound with its original 2-speed relay logic, and oddly it always parked at ground with the doors open. Apologies for the fairly poor filming quality.

    Wow that is an epic motor sound, this was probably some generic company who made it or possibly Hammond and champness because they made lots of wooden cabs in the 50s and 60s

    Looks like a United Lift Co. Lift (I believe) Very rare! Shame it is no longer there.

      You might be onto something there! There is a couple of sets of United Lift Co. lifts in a hospital near me (have had slap on mods). I believe they were bought out by schindler
