- Sometimes, elevator filming doesn't always go as planned. Elevators turn out to be broken, I could get busted by security, or the video could just be ruined by a restricted elevator! This is a compilation of failed elevator videos that just didn't work out! Enjoy!

With elevators that are locked off, ive heard you sometimes have to be careful, as sometimes, literally every single floor is locked off from what ive heard, and some elevators will apparently lock out the door open button when on a restricted floor with the door closed, which combined with literally every single floor being locked off, could cause you to become trapped
The ground floor should work. There has to be a ground floor to exit the building.
you can just pull the doors open. They arent heavy and arent locked
@@official_meeleesDoor operators apply torque to hold doors closed at all times as a safety thing (after all, the air curtain created by the car moving is substantial enough to catch on the door seam and pull doors open if it wasn't there). If the car has a run/stop switch that the user can access, then you can cut the power to the door op long enough to open by hand, but the downside to that is that will simultaneously ring the alarm bells at every floor.
@@eliastaylor2817The recall floor in general has to be unlocked according to fire codes. The recall floor is the guy with the star. That's the floor that elevators will return to in the event of stage 1 fire mode activation or code blue activation. It's also, in fire codes, the floor with the most direct outside exit from the elevators. If, for whatever reason, stage 1 doesn't activate, you have to be able to get out of the shaft ASAP, preferably to that recall floor. Security teams can scoff at that however they like, human safety takes priority over not letting them see whatever office or lobby they want them locked out of.

“You’re not allowed there.” “Oh, OK.” Exactly how this kind of thing should go. Guy 1 wasn’t all pissy or rude or anything, and didn’t leave you stunned for a bit or with any questions, just stated that it wasn’t a public area in a reasonably polite way. You immediately complied, which is also the right way to handle it.

What surprises me the most is how many restricted access elevators your run into. Normally you have to really look for those. Of course you probably do that on purpose so never mind.

He's been stuck in a couple in videos before, the first time he got stuck in one he was specifically filming for he did panic a little. He's gotten less afraid of being stuck since and is a lot more calm about it on the off occasion that it does happen, probably a combination of experience and more knowledge about the underlying safety systems.
I don't remember the exact video but IIRC it was a Dover hydraulic, it served four floors in an office style building that just happened to be unlocked on a weekend. He ended up using the phone box and the tech on the other end directed him to use the E-Stop switch to cut power to the pump and drain valve and also remove the torque from the door operator. That allowed him to push the door open by hand and get out. I think it got stuck levelling, it undershot the floor by more than 1/2" and the controller thought it too far off to open the door.
The lifts/elevators here are ok but don't always match the floor, couple of inches out at times. Plus on riding it is fast but clunky on floor stops. Couple weeks ago when I pressed button 10 it stopped at floor 11 and I walked downstairs.

The elevators in a hotel has a thing that you need key for. Using the key on that will unlock the buttons, and clicking on a button will then lock all the buttons. I've experienced those elevators, they're really good at preventing robbers in hotels!!

I live in a Manchester UK social high rise building, am on the 10th floor of a 16 floor block and have building works going on. They take the piss with holding the lifts/elevators , am glad we don't have RUclipsrs going on ours!! Yet.. although I say that.. please do.. perhaps you will highlight just how bad and clunky these old lifts are here lol!! 😂😂
