For sure some people are experiencing issues. I do not want to discount those. However, with the original LCD Steam Deck, my update has gone perfectly fine and I am actually seeing more battery life when under lower loads. I say this to givw hope that in a week or two it'll be perfect once these issues are fixed.
Some of the under the hood enhancements seem to have affected non-Steam software unfortunately. I've been playing modded Minecraft via Prism Launcher, and I now get various crashes upon game exit due to how temporary files are attempting to be used. At least, that's what I can glean from the log files. 🙂
People always say if I want a PC handheld with more power then there are plenty of options, but to me there aren't. I cannot play most of the games I enjoy on my steam deck without the trackpads, and nobody else seems interested in including them. Hopefully that'll change soon (I think I saw something about another one with trackpads but I don't think it's released yet). Fingers crossed.
I have both the Legion Go and the steamdeck. The LGO was exactly the performance boost I was looking for. The track pad isn't nearly as good as steamdecks but it is more than serviceable. I've only had a few games I straight up couldn't run and mostly those are optimization issues (Jedi survivor), but between the performance boost plus AMD FMF I'm able to get stable frames in any game, currently playing TOTK at stable 30fps 🤙
For me I have a dock but it’s useless because I don’t have a controller that is a 1:1 of the steam deck… i don’t want to keybind separate controls for handheld and docked gameplay.
I made the switch to the GPD Win Mini a while ago, but we handheld gamers owe the Steam Deck so much for making handheld PCs become a more serious consideration taken by developers, Valve included. This channel and others like it are still relevant to me, especially since I hope to use SteamOS eventually, and Steam as a launcher/retailer/controller modifier has become a game changer for handhelds, Steam Deck or not
With undervolting, cpu underclocks, and gpu overclocks, I’m getting better temps battery and performance compared to stock. I am AMAZED at how valve keeps pushing this hardware further.
I think I'm a member of the "This'll do..." group of Steam Deck users. I have been incredibly happy with my Top-tier Gen1 SD, and as much as I'd love to have the better screen of the OLED (i have crummy eyesight), I've never felt that the LCD was a problem. I don't feel like I need a true Gen2 device, at least until VRR, and even then I might still need to look past it to whether or not the SD GEn2 gets ACTUAL hardware bumps. I also have some quality-of-life hardware updates (2TB SSD, clear-back with integrated APU heatsink) that I'm not really interested in migrating or replacing on a newer unit. I'm perfectly happy where I am, and with the wealth of content the Deck supports, I'm not getting any FOMO.
my eyesight is good, but the LCD, however, destroys my eyes giving me severe eye fatigue while playing games such as subnautica for not longer than 1h of gameplay, while on my pc screen i can spend all the day playing and having 0 issues, the effect shows up on games where you have to be paying a lot of attention to details. a lot of people have described the same effects on several ocasions including games such as RDR2 getting the oled steam deck may be an annoyance because it was announced like 2-3 months after i got my regular SD, so it is still pretty new.. i would higly prefer to replace the unit with a SD2 for several reasons tho.
I dont understand how someone has not brought to market a 90-100 Wh battery that fits the steam mold but includes a back plate with a small bump to double the size available. it would still be secure and would ideally double the battery life of most users. Everyone I know with a steam deck already pays 60-70 bucks for a solid external battery pack for that exact reason. the market is there its just waiting. There are several million potential customers that would make that leap today, particularly if its plug and play.
I honestly believe that this would compromise the portability of the device as holding it in your hands would get uncomfortable much quicker due to the added weight. When it comes to handhelds every gram counts and Steam Deck is sitting in a very comfortable zone. Powerbanks already fill the niche of extra power on-the-go. Making a battery like you're suggesting would be a huge risk for any company.
I just updated to 3.6 and my deck is working fine. I play cursor games quite often and they’re working fine too. Obviously some people are having issues, but it’s not everyone it seems
Steam Deck : huge update with 3.6.19 Switch: 5.0 has improvements we won't tell you (it's DRM) and you can expect a real update when you buy another console
I was saying this to my friends the other day. It is shameful how few enhancements and features are added to the OS of Nintendo and Sony consoles. Microsoft used to be the best when it comes to this, but that's no longer the case. Valve is leagues ahead.
I think the software is honestly more important. Getting games running smoothly and efficiently is important. Getting them to run just as well on other handhelds is even more important. When they released the Steam Deck, they were really releasing a new operating platform.
My only gripe with the Steam Deck is the docking: it's just a stand and you have to plug a cable on top. Best console dock so far is the WiiU/3DS, though I would like an on/off switch on that dock so I don't have to unplug it, ever. Having the option between USB and docking means more connectors so I get the choice to not do that, but you could instead have a detachable USB-to-dock adapter in a groove, so when the dock adapter is on it's flush at the bottom (with guide holes) and when you remove the adapter, it's a small hole and the USB plug goes at the bottom. This allows for custom docks with custom adapters, in case anyone wants to try new ideas! (magnetic, anyone?) You'd have to sell separate adapters in case you misplace it, of course. Oh, why docking? HDMI+mouse+keyboard. The Deck is my second gaming PC.

It's up to the developer if they want to incorporate DRM on their release, Steam just makes it easy to do if the developer wants it. And the thing about GoG being totally DRM free, while true, is a bit misleading. While you can download an offline installer to archive till the end of time, which I highly recommend if you have the extra storage space laying around, games can still be delisted from the GoG store, so they can disappear. Not even GoG has perpetual rights to games on their store (except their own games of course) so it's only yours forever if you archived the installer somewhere safe. I'm not trying to argue for Steam or against GoG, I absolutely buy games on both stores. I just think the perception of GoG being superior because they talk big about their DRM free system is not fully understood. Croc could absolutely have been on both stores and been DRM free on both of them, reaching a potentially wider audience that way.
Steam does not necessarily mean DRM either. there are lots of DRM free games on Steam directly. Baldurs Gate 3 for example. It is entirely up to the publisher even if the use steam.

It really depends on your standpoint. If they one day fix scrolling with the stick and dpad in the store / library / forums, it will be a huge update for me while people who use the touchscreen won‘t even notice.
Spending all this time developing the base of SteamOS really would make it worth getting SD2 when it rolls out someday. I have sold my laptop for SD and im never going back.
2:31 am I the only one who noticed or cares about the support for Arm mentioned? Much more exciting than Nvidia since I'm a mobile computer guy, hope this actually becomes something more in the future!! ✌️
I see a lot of comments about the issues that this is causing and honestly that is to be expected. I am thankful people are letting us know and I also want to say that I hope we are all patient with the OS, we all know Valve will be dishing out updated to fix these issues in the up coming days and so on.
Yup,. I intentionally did not update as it was released on the day I needed the deck. Everything is working. I'll wait a couple months for issues to get ironed out.
@fanthedeck Hey Rich love your channel. I watch all four of you on the Nerd Nest podcast abs enjoy that show also. But I really enjoy your content on this channel even more. You really seem to directly hit on the content I am interested in or things I don't know about but am glad I hear them from you. I also really appreciated how you reached out to us to tell us about Jimmy's new channel. The way you support your friends and associates is great and really shows your character. . Keep up all the great work, I can't wait to see what is coming next.
Suggestion as a guide for a future video: This update allows an OLED Deck to turn on a TV via waking up via controller (I know you already said this in this video). BUT there is a way to wake from sleep on the standard LED steam deck via controller. I tested it myself last night. It works and I think most LED deck owners would love to know about this if they use a official dock. By leveraging the xbox for windows 10 usb controller dongle plugged into the back of the dock, and installing XONE drivers via desktop mode to support it, you can wake an LED deck from sleep despite the LED deck "not having bluetooth wake" limitation. With the new dock update giving HDMI CEC support, this allows the same "wake deck and turn on TV" capability on an LED deck that you get as standard from this update with an OLED deck.
As I have been keeping up with your vids, I couldn't wait for all these updates on stable, so I switched to beta channel some months the ago! Seems to be pretty stable now from when I tried beta a year ago...
I remember a lot of people mentioning installing windows on the deck isnt feasible without bluetooth because they use bluetooth controllers. I think thats a HUGE feature
@@majorgnu I'm unsure, I've never tried Windows on the SD as I don't see a reason to. I could see that working but also not working. You would also have to have a bluetooth dongle connected at all times. So, you wouldn't be able to use a bluetooth headset on the go unless you have a dongle attached which sounds annoying.
8:45 - Yep, that's me, and has been me for about a decade now... infact speaking of which... I still have a few games on my backlog from a decade ago...
I don't wanna see a Steam Deck 2 until I can get my hands on the first one directly from Valve in my country, c'mon even Australia gets the chance now and they're way further away from the US than Brazil is, dammit
Im so glad they are doing this over a deck 2. the PC gaming hardware community doesnt need to go down the Console route with a every 2 year update thats nominal at best.
If I had to guess, I'd say Steam Deck 2 would come in late 2025/early 2026. We already have quite a generational leap in AMD APUs comercially available, and Valve usually goes directly to AMD to get a specific APU done for them, and not using the generally available ones like the ROG Ally X and Lenovo Legion Go
Valve will want steam os working for when windows 10 is killed next year and 60 percent of hardware is forced to landfill even though it's fine. The main problem for my kid will be no fortnite, cod or gta online. Which does force an upgrade.
As awful as this may sound, if its for the kid, get them a console, preferably a PlayStation, instead. Then install Linux on your current PC. Also don't forget about GeForce Now. I'm pretty sure it works for fortnite and call of duty. I used it to play genshin impact on steam deck as well, a game that has no Linux support.
Missing for me is quick user switching. We have a gaming PCs in the living room, homeoffice and a Deck. Users take different devices depending on the situation. Switching users is essentially an almost complete restart of the deck currently.
I doubt we'll see an Nvidia release in the foreseeable future. Too much liability for Valve because of how buggy it is compared to AMD. Hopefully that'll change, especially because my main gaming/VR rig is a 4080 that runs NixOS.
Bro it doesn't even see the internal controller for me II had to switch to the beta channel just to use it, a lot of people have the problem yet no hotfix for a week now
Did that, personnally. I had to put my external screen in safe mode and manually select 1080p resolution, with my JSAUX HB0702. Else, I get a NO SIGNAL message. There is no way to use the automatic resolution detection. 4K doesn't work. No problem with my Ivoler dock. I contacted both Valve and JSAUX.
Sadly I have really low volume speakers since 3.6 on my OLED. I also have experienced this on the beta and preview channel, why I always stayed at stable for the last months.
They don't need to rush SD 2. I think that current generation can be improved even more with drivers and Proton updates. And I think that Valve should reconsider bringing back Steam Machines.
Absolutely. I'm glad they're thinking of their hardware from the perspective of a platform provider. Generational hardware revisions mean you have increased consumer confidence that their purchase will be a worthwhile investment that will be supported for a meaningful amount of time and increased incentive for developers to optimize for that hardware. Also, I think the revitalization of the steam machine concept as standardized generational hardware competitively prices against consoles would go a long way toward keeping PC gaming accessible at a time when discreet GPU's can cost as much as a used car.
Happy prince of persia roguelike is deck ready I got it day one and was kinda disappointed but it was definitely early early access then, like the most true to that term of any game I've bought early access; been waiting to see what they add to it. Dead cells is in my top 10 fav games of all time
What do you mean? The switch gets about 5 hours of Celeste, the LCD deck gets 6, the oled 8 hours. If you mean the next deck will get the same battery life in elden ring as traditional handhelds playing mario kart SNES then it's apples to oranges.
ikr, if they want to compare the switch with the deck we have to change all the setting, reso, fps, even that blurry dynamic reso switch has. The deck can do pretty much the same or even more with their tdp option
I have a pc with a decent card but I’m a console gamer at heart. I love to sit, grab a controller and play. The deck finally fulfills that place for me. Portable if I’m out, and connected to a tv at home. Perfect
All that you had with the desktop. Well cant take it with you outside ofc. But i always wonder why people think they could not connect pc to tv and use controller 😂
I think they should just release a more or less drop in replacement every like 3-5 years taking advantage of efficiency improvements in hardware. That seems to be about the cycle now where you get significant performance increases while at the same time reducing power requirements. Also memory gets cheaper. So double the RAM at some point.
I think the update screwed up my boot animation. It goes "dun dun" like the original default did, before it loads the boot animation. I removed the boot animation and set it back to default, and now it goes "dun dun" pauses for a second, then goes "dun dun" AGAIN then the zoom sound. So how do I fix this? I only want it to do the normal "dun dun..zzzooommm" and not "dun dun....... dun dun..zzzooommmmm"
With the leaks about valve working on an ARM version of proton to run x86 vr games for a potential standalone VR headset, I'm suspecting a Steamdeck 2 will come after that, with an arm chip.
I don't know man, Microsoft and Apple themselves when shifted there laptops to ARM chips they failed to make a translation layer that can run all x86 games and applications in acceptable preference, most of them didn't even lunch, so I'm not sure valve can do it
We are getting closer and closer to that general release of SteamOS and my next build is going to use it. For now, I'll enjoy my Steam Deck. And no, I do not want to use HoloISO or Bazzite.
I wish they would make the steam deck support VR. I really want to play PCVR but I looked into getting a VR ready PC prebuilt I would have to buy a prebuilt because I know nothing about how to build one, but I was looking at them and they were very expensive. Some of them are over $2000 and I am a console gamer and now a PC user with the steam deck so those prices are really expensive for me and a really good graphics card being $500 that’s the same price as much as a PS5 or Xbox series X, but I do understand that you can do more stuff with a PC versus a gaming console
Most people don't chase the most expensive graphics cards or graphics and the Steam Hardware Survey bears this out. Everyone wants to pretend that they are in the market for them but even in the GTX 1080 days you're talking about 2-3% of gamers that coughed up the cash on the premium stuff.
all the older gamers i know are either rocking 5+ year old hardware or just built a new PC after not building one for 5-7 years. Games have flat-lined on performance requirements because everything has to run on consoles for mass appeal... unless its scam citizen then it just doesn't run on anything because its poorly optimized junk
I really do think a 4 core Zen5 and 12 RDNA 3.5/4CUs would be a generational uplift as long as it gets a 192 bit memory bus. This is a custom chip after all, why not give it the bandwidth, and RAM capacity everyone has been wanting. With a 192 bit memory bus they could use the much cooler running DDR5 4800 run everything in 1:1 and still get more bandwith than a 9700G with DDR5 9000 pumping 20w just into memory And, i hear that part of the spec for DDR5 is shutting off some channels when not in use, so maybe you get a 30w mode when docked that uses all 3 channels/192 bit, but when handheld balanced modeit drops down to 15w 128 bit, and then eco mode down to 5w and 64 bit. I do wonder if using 3D packaging Valve, AMD, and TSMC can make a low powered 3D stacked APU Instead of a small cache chiplet, on top of a small compute chiplet, make a monolithic compute chipliet with CPU and GPU cores, then stack that on top of IO paired with LOTS of cache, say 512MB of L4 cache shared between CPU and GPU 32MB of L3 for the CPU, and 192MB of L3 for the GPU then the APU wouldnt have to go out to RAM as often saving power, the question is, how much power, would it be enough to get the same performance as a 192 bit memory bus with just 128bit? Would it allow for a 4000MT/s 192 bit memory bus that just sips power compared to the current 128 bit 5500MT/s OR is the whole think going to use as much power as a 256 bit memory bus, without the benefits
Something on the steam deck that is very annoying and I don’t know if this was a bug or intended, but I saw on RUclips that you can go on desktop mode install your games on steam and then turn the display off and it will continue to download, but the only thing with that Mine even though I have it plugged up to the power adapter when the screen goes black, it disconnects from the Internet and if I was downloading the game, that’s annoying because it stops and then it messes up and I have the OLED so I won’t be able to download games with my screen off because I won’t be playing games when it’s downloading and I also heard from RUclips that OLED screens if they’re left on too long, they can get Berlin if the screen is not moving with a picture or something
honestly i respect valve for not releasing a new steam deck like phones. but they make money out of the store mainly AFAIK The only steam deck I can think of right now that'd make sense is a steam deck slim/mini but that'd suck battery wise!
Updated mine and could not boot withoutt doing the cold boot method (vol up + power, about 6 times and then it could boot), but it happened every time i powered off or sleep. The BIOS is the culprit. Reverted with deck bios manager and it works as before. Valve said i could pay 200€ for them to look at it. f7a132 bios is a dud, the f7a121 works though. Now i have blocked all updates because it would just autoupdate and give the same problem again. Hope the next Bios update fix this, untill then no updates on mine.
Still no racing wheel support, but at least the arch and kernel versions are more recent. I gave up using my Logitech g923 wheel with Steam Deck because the configuration would break after system updates. It works with Windows on my PC, but, you know. Windows. The constant stream of Windows updates and the way they break so many devices is wasting time I'd rather spend playing a racing game.
For now I agree with no steam deck 2 yet... But I expect to see an ally 2 next year as well as other brands with the new chip from AMD and if it performs as expected the gap does get quite big with the original steam deck... Still, plenty of games you can still play on the deck, but personally I might be swayed by an Ally 2 (X)
Dunno what half of this means but I’m happily playing God Of War Rangorok at 30FPS happily on my steam deck that would be considered the “old version” 😂😎

SteamOS Kernel updated to 6.5? The 6.12 is in release candidate and the 6.11 has been released in fedora and ubuntu... :/ I guess the Steamdeck doesn't need it since they seems to cherry pick some and has they proper fixes, but it seems very late on that point. It would be required if they want to expand the availability of steamOS on others machines. Bazzite is really up to date on that point with the kernel 6.11.5 taht will be release tomorrow on stable branch. It will be more compatible for others handheld than steamOS.

Should be buying my SD this week so all useful info, thanks!
Does anyone else have a problem where the controls on Dolphin have stopped working? I also noticed the same happened with Cemu, too.
Thanks for the kind words Oggie!
Oh dang im early. Love the deck gang thanks for keeping me updated
Nice! Deck Gang FTW!
Suggestion as a guide for a future video:
This update allows an OLED Deck to turn on a TV via waking up via controller (I know you already said this in this video).
Can't you just use a Bluetooth USB dongle if you need it so much?
@@majorgnu I'm unsure, I've never tried Windows on the SD as I don't see a reason to. I could see that working but also not working. You would also have to have a bluetooth dongle connected at all times. So, you wouldn't be able to use a bluetooth headset on the go unless you have a dongle attached which sounds annoying.
If you REALLY want to you could sacrifice a USB port for one. Meaning you could solder one in. @@nickcoul699
Im happy with the deck and also the performance - it’s a handheld, so no need to hurry. I don’t won’t to update every 2-3 years.
Im so glad they are doing this over a deck 2. the PC gaming hardware community doesnt need to go down the Console route with a every 2 year update thats nominal at best.
this is why i just love valve… gamers do stuff for gamers! that’s awesome
I mean.. Steam hosts lots of DRM free games as well, they could've easily release Croc with no drm on Steam lmao
Hoping to get an oled model in the coming months I miss having one for sure.
I feel like I need a "Deck Gang" sticker for my Steam Deck...?
No recordings on stable yet though.
And you have almost 100k followers btw. Congratulations Rich !
I usually don’t notice the “battery life improvement” updates, but the reduced battery drain on idle is actually significant
Missing for me is quick user switching. We have a gaming PCs in the living room, homeoffice and a Deck. Users take different devices depending on the situation. Switching users is essentially an almost complete restart of the deck currently.
I was hoping for the long promised easy dual booting Windows and Steam OS.
Perfectly fine on my end. Didn't notice any issue after the update.
No issues here on steamdeck oled with 3.6.19, but i dont play very demanding games on my oled deck most of the time. I need 50-60 fps
The new update has critical bugs, it broke hardware mouse cursor. Diablo 2 is unplayable. Do not update if you play any game with a mouse cursor
Is there a list of critical bugs so far? I'll look up the Diablo 2 issue
@@FanTheDeck just go to the official Steam Deck bug report forum, there's a bunch, and all seem to be related to inputs one way or the other
yo! same here. Been playing D2R also and in game cursor disappeared/invisible. Glad I found a way to roll back to 3.5
Hopefully we can get an official desktop version of steamOS that can control both Nvidia/AMD GPU settings.
I doubt we'll see an Nvidia release in the foreseeable future. Too much liability for Valve because of how buggy it is compared to AMD.
Hopefully that'll change, especially because my main gaming/VR rig is a 4080 that runs NixOS.
This update broke my ability to use my 3rd party dock.
Bro it doesn't even see the internal controller for me II had to switch to the beta channel just to use it, a lot of people have the problem yet no hotfix for a week now
Oof which dock btw? Could be worth submitting a steam support ticket
A dock for what?
@@cezarstefanseghjucan what ELSE is a dock used for..
Sadly I have really low volume speakers since 3.6 on my OLED. I also have experienced this on the beta and preview channel, why I always stayed at stable for the last months.
Still on POPOS for my other gaming rigs while I wait for steamOS for other hardware
They don't need to rush SD 2. I think that current generation can be improved even more with drivers and Proton updates.
And I think that Valve should reconsider bringing back Steam Machines.
This!!
Updated, playing silent hill 2 remake, low settings at stable 30 fps, no dipping surprisingly
Headline: "THIS is the new Steam Deck OS!"
Actual content: "Yeah, it's just a stability update"
thanks! Saved me 20 minutes :D
Yeah I find it frustrating too.
As someone who has both the steam deck and legion go! I really wish we just got the best of both of them it would legit be the perfect device!
@@hornantuutti5157 that’s a question for Valve. Why did they make a consolized version of a pc?. I’m just a user glad they did.
@@marcianoacuerda it is 100% pc that loads pig picture mode as default. Nothing to do with consoles.
Valve’s playing the long game. Having a stable OS available for other hardware means plugging more people directly into their Steam store.
Quest 3 is a good cheap option right now.
Most people don't chase the most expensive graphics cards or graphics and the Steam Hardware Survey bears this out. Everyone wants to pretend that they are in the market for them but even in the GTX 1080 days you're talking about 2-3% of gamers that coughed up the cash on the premium stuff.
I want steam OS released for other handhelds ;-; (specifically some of the GPD Win Max 2 devices)
Still no Ctrl key and no function keys on the virtual keyboard. Huge dislike from average terminal on little screen enjoyers on that one
you don't have to interact with the terminal for steam deck
@thebluegremlin But I want to! :D
Great vid
Steam os 3.6 gave me a performance regression.
Thankfully switch to 1gb of vram and following a.b.t. tweaks solves it.
all the older gamers i know are either rocking 5+ year old hardware or just built a new PC after not building one for 5-7 years.
With a 192 bit memory bus they could use the much cooler running DDR5 4800 run everything in 1:1 and still get more bandwith than a 9700G with DDR5 9000 pumping 20w just into memory
And, i hear that part of the spec for DDR5 is shutting off some channels when not in use, so maybe you get a 30w mode when docked that uses all 3 channels/192 bit, but when handheld balanced modeit drops down to 15w 128 bit, and then eco mode down to 5w and 64 bit.
I do wonder if using 3D packaging Valve, AMD, and TSMC can make a low powered 3D stacked APU
Instead of a small cache chiplet, on top of a small compute chiplet, make a monolithic compute chipliet with CPU and GPU cores, then stack that on top of IO paired with LOTS of cache, say 512MB of L4 cache shared between CPU and GPU 32MB of L3 for the CPU, and 192MB of L3 for the GPU then the APU wouldnt have to go out to RAM as often saving power, the question is, how much power, would it be enough to get the same performance as a 192 bit memory bus with just 128bit? Would it allow for a 4000MT/s 192 bit memory bus that just sips power compared to the current 128 bit 5500MT/s
OR is the whole think going to use as much power as a 256 bit memory bus, without the benefits
Yeah im happy and can wait on SD2
Something on the steam deck that is very annoying and I don’t know if this was a bug or intended, but I saw on RUclips that you can go on desktop mode install your games on steam and then turn the display off and it will continue to download, but the only thing with that Mine even though I have it plugged up to the power adapter when the screen goes black, it disconnects from the Internet and if I was downloading the game, that’s annoying because it stops and then it messes up and I have the OLED so I won’t be able to download games with my screen off because I won’t be playing games when it’s downloading and I also heard from RUclips that OLED screens if they’re left on too long, they can get Berlin if the screen is not moving with a picture or something
honestly i respect valve for not releasing a new steam deck like phones. but they make money out of the store mainly AFAIK
The only steam deck I can think of right now that'd make sense is a steam deck slim/mini but that'd suck battery wise!
God Hand was amazingly quirky
Updated mine and could not boot withoutt doing the cold boot method (vol up + power, about 6 times and then it could boot), but it happened every time i powered off or sleep. The BIOS is the culprit. Reverted with deck bios manager and it works as before. Valve said i could pay 200€ for them to look at it. f7a132 bios is a dud, the f7a121 works though. Now i have blocked all updates because it would just autoupdate and give the same problem again. Hope the next Bios update fix this, untill then no updates on mine.
Is this update beneficial to the OLED model or just the LCD model? I’m talking battery improvements mostly
Thumbnail looks like nickado avacado.
Do you think we will be able to play native game pass games on the steam deck? I feel like that’s the only missing feature for the perfect handheld
Had to roll back because my external USB drive won't mount on the new update (through JSAUX dock).
Steam deck with an 80wh battery would be too good for us mere mortals. 🤩
(11:48) cuz in most of those scenarios you'll DEFINITELY have internet... LOL...
Another hugh Update, atleast for me, just found out that Barrier works in Gamemode, earlier i could not made it work in the Past,
Dunno what half of this means but I’m happily playing God Of War Rangorok at 30FPS happily on my steam deck that would be considered the “old version” 😂😎
He want POWER!! he Want MORE BATTERY LIFE!!,, HE EATS BURGER BUT WANT SPAGHETTI

As expected, even older games aren't immune to soulless AI slop.
I was afraid that this would happen, cheap HD "remasters".
What are you specifically referring to as "AI SLOP"?

SteamOS Kernel updated to 6.5? The 6.12 is in release candidate and the 6.11 has been released in fedora and ubuntu... :/
I guess the Steamdeck doesn't need it since they seems to cherry pick some and has they proper fixes, but it seems very late on that point. It would be required if they want to expand the availability of steamOS on others machines.
Bazzite is really up to date on that point with the kernel 6.11.5 taht will be release tomorrow on stable branch. It will be more compatible for others handheld than steamOS.
GOG Exclusive games seem less like an issue when they're DRM free.
Exclusives just another walled garden consoles crap or similar. On open platform like PC (it is Personal Computer, not MS Windows computer) you should get software direly from dev/publisher and/or distribution site of your choice.
@mindaugasstankus5943 Unlike EA or Ubisoft or even Epic games everything from gog is drm free. Meaning it isn't really a walled garden.
I’m having issues with my lcd 2022. The battery won’t hold a charge at all. So no handheld mode unless it’s plugged in, might aswell be docked at that point.
Ngl im having some issues with turning on my sd with my bluetooth controller. Even in dongle mode it doesn't work and this is with my 8bitdo controller. Ive tried using my dual sense and xbox series x as well but still nothing. Mind you i have an lcd sd but nowhere in the patch notes does it say it was only for oled so your vid was extremely helpful. Id think valve would be on top of this but we'll see :/
This new update made my MicroSD card incompatible. It was working before the update.
Email them about it and hope they release another update
Actually wait you can hold the steam button on booting screen and it will give you an option to go back to the last version I think
What if my issue of struggling to update the steam deck won't let up update it 😂
He like steam,,but he casually say get a ROG ally overALL if you want POWER...WOW FAN OF THE DECK!
