I'll never understand why Japanese commercials have English thrown in at random. There is no way that every Japanese person can read or understand English. I mean it's like if you are watching tv and suddenly a commercial is in Swahili.
Many Japanese people speak English or at least understand a little but of it and even if they didn't they would still understand English brand names or album titles, it's just the same as English speakers saying "adios" or "taco."

Since everyone is asking, the girl in the commercial around 1:36 is Kuroshima Yuina or 黒島結菜 in kanji and the guy is Hayama Shono or 葉山奨之 in kanji.

It makes me sad to see all the CMs with the dumb foreigners in them - I wish they wouldn't reinforce this stereotype of them being bad at Japanese.
sadly, it's just like how the West stereotypes N.E. Asians too.. it's very rampant still :(
Though really, it's no different to Western stereotypes of foreigners either. It happens everywhere.
Alyssa-Jayne Galea az talal I don't know much about America but in Germany (where I live) and Britain (where I'm from) we would never put such stereotypes in the media like this. If people think a certain way, then of course no one can make them think differently, but it would be a huge deal if something as insulting as the above adverts were shown. I write video games for a living and we spend so much time making sure nothing can be hurtful to others.
Yeah, most of the media we're exposed to in Australia is from the US and it's packed full of negative stereotypes about people from other countries - Japanese, Mexicans, Germans, Australians, just about every other country cops some flak in television. It's almost always lighthearted and meant to be taken as a joke, but it's there nonetheless.
They may be a little strange sometimes,but Japan has the best commercials.
