Not really. Don't take what's going on in Ukraine as the new status of warfare. Drones are what happens when both sides are too inept to win on the battlefield.
Even if tanks in Ukraine are vulnerable to drones, then there will be countermeasures made in the future to combat these drones to decrease their effectiveness against armored vehicles and personnel.
@@RocketPal Exactly. You don’t need fancy APS systems because the projectile is traveling so slow. You don’t need fancy IR dazzlers because they don’t have laser-designators. You only need an antenna running a continuous command through multiple frequencies that just says “disarm motors”, and just like that, the so-called “end of tanks” are no longer a problem.
The problem with sending commands over a radio is that the enemy can jam them or take them over completely and order them to attack you. The US military has been working on drones for several decades and this is a problem they keep running into.

It's not. It's one OF the best tanks in the world. Leopard 2 , K2 panther, M1. Type 10 as a honorable mention. As far generation 3 tanks go. There just isn't alot of information (for the public) on Chinese MBT's VT4 for example to draw a conclusion. The lack of information on "modern MBT's" extends to most countries however. Leopard 2a8, M1A2.v3, challenger 3, T-14, leclerc's, M1E3, T-90M/T-72/T-80 mod 2020's. We just don't know.
In a war where no one owns the skies, sure... but the joint warfare the US employs, and their dominance in the skies, means these guys won't be as big a target to those drones
The K2 Black Panther is a great tank all things considered. But it is constructed with mountainous Korean terrain in mind, it is substantially lighter, which is an advantage. But the M1A2 SEPv3 is the superior tank in my opinion, tougher armor and new advanced multipurpose rounds can make the Abrams ever more dangerous, however it is built to operate in the more open fields of Western Europe. Both are great.

Also, the loss of tank in the single digits after months of use is decent, especially against significantly larger Russian tank losses. Sure the vehicle is heavy and the terrain is an issue, but it has proven to be able to take more punishment than Russian tanks, the blowout panels work and save crews from ammo detonations, allowing some Abrams to be repaired and returned to the field in the future. The M1A2 SEPv3 is substantially improved over the M1A1SA, with increased protection and the ability to mount an active protection system, it should be much more survivable than the tanks currently deployed in Ukraine.
