Listening to this, it really makes me wonder just how much of Kraftwerk's initial double LP credited to Ralf Hutter is in fact Ralf at all. NEU! were so ahead of their time.
he used an array of effects on his flute but the main two that got it to sound like that were something to lower the sound of the flute and give it a bassier sound (dont kno if this was something he himself made or a pedal) and then a wah wah pedal. you can hear the effects of the wah wah very clearly in this video which is what sorta gives ot the duck quack sound. sounds kinda similar to when miles davis used a wah wah on his trumpet too around the same time.
@@videostak I don't think it's a wha pedal. He has an EMS synthesizer over there, through which you could channel external sounds or instruments via an input jack as Brian Eno famously also did in Roxy Music. You can barely see it in this clip, but it's clearly visible in other videos of performances from this era. So, I'm pretty sure it was the synth's envelope filter creating that effect.
@@VuotoPneumaNN ah that explains it! tho i think hes also using a wah pedal over that too right? in the video of rucktoss gondoliere 2nd version around the 6:48 mark u can see him pressing down a wah wah pedal while playing. i guess its a mixture of the two that creates that distinct sound but my first thought is always wah pedal since it reminds me so much of miles davis' playing from the 70s lol

NEU! ft. Florian Schneider sounds really great!
incredible document! in hindsight this could almost be more accurately described as Florian sitting in with Neu!
Still, thr band was called Kraftwerk
NEU! was started after the duo (actually only Dinger) was dumped from Kraftwerk by the control freak Hutter,
Agreed.
What an incredible piece of music history. Thank you for preserving it for us!
Holy hell, Dinger was an animal.
For real!
Dingo
Saw this on WDR or ARD in 1971, I was 10 years old . Later on we had rockpalast and it were all very long sessions 😊
Love it! Love early Kraftwerk/NEU!
Incredible video quality.
Kraftwerk rocked in their early days. Too bad they didn’t stay like this for a bit longer.
These are Kraftwerk with Dinger and Rother, so they are practically Neu! with Florian. If you like this you'll love Neu!
Yes I miss that idea however without the electronic keyboard sound it would've never been as influential
This is Neu!
I found in comments to another version of this video that there was recorded a full album of such material. Probably forever locked in archive
Klaus is still looking for his sunglasses!
I could listen to this all day. Simply stunning.
Brilliant piece
Listening to this, it really makes me wonder just how much of Kraftwerk's initial double LP credited to Ralf Hutter is in fact Ralf at all. NEU! were so ahead of their time.
Facts cause he splattered himself as the everything man on that double LP, most likely to not give them credit
I’m so glad Ralf took a sabbatical. The music without him at that time sounded so much better for his absence.
Ralf was great composer/chanteur, but I couldn't agree more here.
Here's a certain rawness and power!
Thanks for the effort, I am thrilled with your posts 😃
Thanks a lot for this ... Great Track and picture quality .... always thankful for new old Kraftwerk stuff :)
Great!
Klaus Dinger has always worn overalls. It's like NEU! I was impressed by the tight drums like.
thank you!
Overalls look super badass on a drummer, Bill Bruford proves this.
They're good lads.
Dinger looks like he has the day of his life, while Florian looks like he’s about to throw up.
Alucinante.
very weird how this group transformed itself
Awesome!
Thanks for the upload!
RIP Klaus
Epic!
I had no idea Florian Schneider actually invented the mullet
Nice video! Have you any footage of early Triumvirat?
👏👏👏
💃💃💃❤️💕💕
Hi,
This song is fantastic.
Between SISTER RAY et JOY DIVISION.
Do you know if it's possible to find in CD version ?
Thanks a lot...
Not between, before ...
How did Florian get his flute to sound like that?
I suspect that he has a microphone going into a mixing desk, which has a mountain of effects.

Wahnsinnsdrummer. Aaaber Sandalen bei Rother????
Die Sandalen wären ok. Aber Socken, eh Socken geht ja garnicht.
i get the impression the sound man didn't like the flute. 🤣
Fan fucking tastic

This sounds more like Nue.
Neu! emerged a year later from the aches of Kraftwerk.
What is this song 🤯 ?????
Trans Europe Express
@@coldacre Thanks but that definitely is not Trans Europe Express 😆
autobahn? :) lol
「Hallogallo」
