I’ve been binging your content lately and finding all sorts of gems I wanna take time to watch! I usually don’t like getting all my recommendations for movies/music from RUclipsrs, but your opinions are always concise and never feel pretentious. Thanks for the great videos dude, keep it up!

this is one of my favorite movies by Miike and Ito's presence and charisma is purely amazing.
i also like the reoccuring song "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer" aus der "Dreigroschenoper" - it fits perfectly =)

Ito is a joy to watch, he really deserves to be the lead in more films.

    I'm a Miike fan.
My husband does not watch foreign movies, let alone horror. One day he said "let's lay in bed and I'll nap" and I said "okay, I'm going to re watch a movie".
I fell asleep, and he watched Lesson of Evil. He was so confused/astonished that there was no solid ending. He's never truly trusted my movie suggestions of any kind since. 😂💕

Its pedantic, but its worth noting Patric Bateman is perceived by the audience as swuave, but in the reality of the book and movie is imcriminating and sloppy.
Hes already wealthy, barely works, has all the money to make beauty easy and gets away with everything because of who he is. He can literally tell people hes a killer and get away scott free. Hes not cunning, hes a parody of how much people like him can just get away with.

Valid points and worth noting for sure! I could do a whole essay on American Psycho alone... but it wouldn't fit this channel!
Definitely my point of comparison comes more from how audiences tend to respond to characters like Hasumi, Bateman, and Hannibal. Though it's not lost on me that Hasumi sort of lacks the satire that Bateman has, making them similar but definitely different types of characters.

Amazing stuff like always miike is one of the only directors I watch in which half the time i love his moves and the other half of the time they are just so bad happy to know this is a good one. His adaptations of more edgy manga seem to be some of his better work.

OMG I have seen this movie so many times! Each time it never fails to give me chills. I loved seeing the comparisons you made to the movie :) I didnt know there was a manga and novel, but I still enjoy the movie haha

5:30 I know nobody likes having their language criticized so I apologize in advance, and I don't say this with any sort of hostility because I know your intentions aren't malicious, but you really shouldn't say "psychotic" when you mean "psychopathic." People suffering from psychosis don't deserve to be associated with that sort of thing. Great video as usual other than that

Sorry of my choice in words, I'll try to be more careful with that distinction in the future!
