All "Cults" usually point to (James 2) to support their viewpoint in regards to works being needed for salvation, whether it be Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Roman Catholics, etc. That is one way anyone is able to recognize a "Cult".
It's true. And this is just one of the many things that separates Biblical Christianity from Mormonism when they are compared with one another. Mormonism flat out denies that doctrine of Grace, and if anything, completely misrepresents it in it's Biblical context.
Perhaps this could also be the reason as to why they also have a different description within their beliefs. Because according to Mormon Doctrine, their view on the nature of God (The Father), seems to differ even now in their publications even though they also claim to believe in the same God of the Bible.
cont: So essentially, within Mormonism, Jesus Christ is just one among many created beings who existed in heaven, along with us (the supposed spirit children) who lived along with him. There are a lot of other strange teachings besides this that the majority of Mormons (believe it or not) aren't even aware of, like for example, the "Adam God" Doctrine.
*"Did Brigham Young teach that a person could sin beyond the power of the blood of Jesus Christ forgiving them?"* There is no such thing as a "blood atonement" doctrine in the LDS church. Never has been. There is absolutely _no sin_ that Christ's grace cannot forgive. "And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." (Book of Mormon: Mosiah 3:17)
Well, as far as I can tell, Mormons no longer practice the "Blood Atonement" ritual anymore. But however, due to it's past usage of it in history, it would be wise to avoid Mormonism altogether. And also, another reason as to why Mormonism should be avoided, is due to it's downgrading of the divinity of Jesus Christ. They don't believe that Jesus is the creator, but rather, they believe that he was one among many spirit children. cont
That crap is such a contradiction of the Lord's word.. Just because they make something up doesn't meant it's true and doesn't mean if you don't believe it all you're not worthy of God's love and that you're going to hell.. and why was it told to me by a Mormon that all sins are forgiven and everyone goes to heaven? Does that mean he wasn't Mormon?
That's awesome to here Sis. May the grace of God richly bless you, and keep you close to him at all times. Blessings to you.
