    L.O.N.S. T.I.M.E. is a Dope album. I still play it to this day. I remember watching Fab 5 interview them and this going down back then. The look on Milo's face when Brown said "learning about myself and my capabilities" was like"Yo WTF is this dude on?" lol

    Busta was the real standout star of the group, his energy was unparalleled, if the LONS album didn’t work, didn’t sell and no hype, it’d have been a waste of investment for a third album budget. Bus was right to listen to Dante Ross, because if he stayed with LONS and the album performed poorly then they would’ve gotten dropped and written off

      Yeah because Busta Rhymes was loyal and show love to the rest of L.O.N.S., when the hip-hop world didn't show them no love at all !.

      Yeah but in Dincos defense, At that time Hip Hop was still fairly new and not Near as a popular and lucrative genre as it is now! A lot of talented rappers back then Especially New York knew felt that Rap was more of a hobby and if you blow up you BLOW UP. So once leaders broke up he probably just said Forget it

      True, but also Busta had love for them! I'm pretty sure that Busta learned from groups like NWA even Brand Nubian! Busta didn't wanna do that to his friends in his crew he looked at as brothers. Charlie Brown should've put his pride to the side as they all are committed to the group! It was all about the fight for the leader position smh. I'm sure that haunted C.Brown for years.

    LONS was a hip hop -pilot group that was a like a lot of hip hop coming of age groups and artists at that time. They were the offspring of the likes of ATCQ Jungle Brothers, De La just to name a few. From their very first appearance and song “Case of the PTA,” you could easily hear that Busta was the most talented lyricist. His unique rambunctious wordplay -rhyme style, delivery and voice to a C Brown’s more chaotic-choppy with lil screams here and there that appeared a bit disjointed and out of sync at times was unequal and unmatched in energy to Bustas. And while Dinco D’s style was more mellowed and smooth flowing, he and C Brown’s lyrics had no major sustenance that made their rhymes enjoyable nor memorable. You can hear in all of their songs from their first album and even in their second album “ The Inner Minds Eye” which I like more so, that Busta overshadowed his group mates with lyrical creativity and style. Yes Busta may have been loyal to the group at first, ( especially on the come up), but when others in the industry only notice the sheer raw talent of his to who’s the weakest link of that LONS group, it’s easy to say that Busta stood out and spit fire on anything he touched like a dungeon dragon 🐉 literally, it burn-branded his name and guaranteed his solo success. In fact an honorable mention, it really wasn’t until Busta’s appearance on ATCQ’s -Scenario that really sealed the deal and foundation towards his solo career and success. In hindsight Busta was already a solo artist waiting for his chance and opportunity in a group that wasn’t unfortunately substantial enough to last long anyway, due to lack of creativity and talent. And C Brown hated that so much of fact that Busta was just better than him lyrically no matter how hard he tried and Dinco D knowing this wasn’t gonna last forever but seemed just appreciative to be a part of hip hop history at a time when Hip Hop was at its best!

    • @91Definite
      @91Definite 3 месяца назад

      I feel sad that instead of C.Brown being jealous of Busta? Why couldn't he be happy for him? Busta loved his group but C.Brown made that shit difficult for him, they would fist fight and all? Busta had to be really depressed about that, he wanted to be about unity of something he loved. I'm sure the others felt the same way too but C.Brown was a problem! If you look at certain pictures of them especially one in a limo? You can tell C.Brown mind was just somewhere else! This obviously reminded me of Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers and Busta's Frankie! Everybody just saw Frankie but not the group as a whole, that's when Frankie and Herman Santiago fought maybe more than one time. But luckily Busta wasn't on heavy drugs and career didn't went spiral like Frankie's but I'm saying that Busta was the star of the group.

      Wait a second they had a third unreleased album? When they made that? Cause I'm sure without Busta it wouldn't had made alot of noise! Busta can shine on his own? But the group I believe could shine as well, but Busta is the glue to them like Dirty to Wu Tang! Imagine if Busta didn't live long enough to see the potential he had? That would've ended LONS permanently

    I once saw Charlie Brown walking holding a box of pizza in Uniondale, NY around the time when Busta was first making big time money records. Sad. No car, just walked to the pizzeria and I'm assuming back home. Busta is a poser, he went to the same junior high & high school I went to in Uniondale (Turtle Hook & Uniondale High School). It's written on the back of the first song's vinyl cover. The first few videos were filmed in Uniondale. Busta's family lived on Birch Street in Uniondale until he got signed and maybe graduated, but his parents eventually sold the house to my friends parents. His younger brother Paul was like the black sheep of the family cause he was left behind to continue living in Uniondale and going to Uniondale High School. Paul lived a normal life while his brother was a star. Sad shit. Last time I saw Paul was at a small bar in Baldwin, Ny in 2012 sitting in the booth behind me drinking with some woman. Obviously he wasn't rich, he was just another local guy spending a few bucks on a regular weekend. Why doesn't Busta ever mention Paul?
