Mark Thomas! Love these videos! Hit the Like button around 8 seconds into the video! 😆
Congrats on that beautiful Framing gun!
Senco, a great old name in Pneumatic nail guns! When I worked as a Custom Casework installer, and Trim Carpenter, the Company I worked for, supplied the old all metal Senco brad nailers. They didn’t even have the padding around the handles at that time. Great little nailers, limited to 1&5/8 inch brads however. So I invested in a P/C nailer that would shoot 2 inch brads. That was a good little nailer, despite being cheap.
In the shop they used those burly staple guns. They were bulletproof. I have used just about all of the stuff Senco made. I still have the same 15 gauge Finish nailer you pulled out in your video. LOVE that gun. A few years ago I was in the market for a new brad nailer, and settled on the Red Senco, from Home
Depot. Didn’t care for it at first, but once I got used to the nose, and the fastener placement, it is one of my favs. Not made here however. Glad to see the framing nailer is made here. I didn’t know they still did?
Bought into Hitachi nailers a few years back, and am quite pleased. I have the finish nailer that will blow out air and act as a ‘duster’ by pressing a button. Nice gun, but I still prefer my Made In USA all metal 15 gauge finish nailer. I’m sure you feel the same about yours. Looks like you have gotten a lot of use out of it! Love my little Hitachi 23 gauge PIN Nailer. I was able to get good deals on a few guns, when my local Lowe’s didn’t know what to do with them, as they were being switched over to Metabo/HPT!
Comment is long enough, so take care. Great Video Mark! 👍👍 👍 ✌ 😊
Thanks for sharing your insights, George. You description of bulletproof is what I think of with my old Senco SN70 Framing Nailer. It's heavy and built like a tank. I've heard good things about Hitachi roofing nailers. I've used one on a all-day roof project and it worked well.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Senco made a really good roofing nailer if i recall? Yeah, I forgot to comment on your SN70, what a gun! I loved seeing you pull out those old tools. I am glad to see your new Senco was made here in the USA, and in Ohio like in the past!
Best!
I bought a Senco roofing nailer about 12 years and it worked fairly well, but seemed a little stubborn at times and would jam on occasion.
I tried a Hitachi around that time and liked it better. I decided to sell mine but never bought another one yet. Someday, I'd like to try Senco's new RoofPro 445XP.
Porter Cable from ‘92, several decks thousands of harden ring shanks. Same orings, I use synco superlube pneumatic oil.
Now own a dewalt 20v brushless framer.
Interesting, I haven't ever tried a Porter Cable nailer. The DeWalt one comes in handy, I've tested that one.
No fun with a single shot shooting sheething on houses, go bump fire. I own several framing nailers, Senco sn325, got it for free and rebuilt it, new o rings, new cylinder sleeve seal and new bottom bumper, it works great. Also have 3 paslode 5300 Plus nailers and rebuilt 2 of them this winter. I don't get to excited about cordless nailers, batteries and fuel cells get expensive. and the gas ones need to be kept very clean. I was laughing at your video using a Senco nail gun and seeing your Milwaukee laden clothes logo everywhere. Thanks much.
Senco was very popular in the factory built housing market. When I used to tour some home factories in Indiana, they had full automatic nailers putting on the osb sheathing. I've always associated them as heavy duty commercial grade nailers.
Single sequential is my preferred mode.
Same here when framing.
U need to review the Metabo 36 volt framing nailer. I hear it’s a beast.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into that.
Where do you buy the nailer
Timely review. I am looking to replace an older Metabo nailer. Made in USA is important to how I purchase these days. Thank you.
That's cool, glad this was helpful. I think you'll be happy with this nailer.
It’s just hard to go back to a hose and tank when I have both the millwalkeee and dewalt cordless nailers.
Battery powered nail guns are impressive as well. I remember years ago looking at a Paslode with a fuel cell. I never bought one, but thought about it for those job sites without power.
What's your favorite framing nailer up to this point?
Oooh, coz I’m an idiot these days, I neglected to answer your question: I love my Hitachi Framing nailer.
It shoots the plastic collated full head fasteners. Other than leaving the annoying little bits of plastic to clean up, they wont come apart in wet situations, like the paper ones, and full headed makes it easier to bang home a fastener that was left proud, with your hammer. Knowing the Senco is made here, and that awesome color, I would buy it! Paslode makes a good nailer as well. Take care!
That a good point comparing the 2 styles of framing guns. It's nice to have more nails in the magazine with clipped heads, but I've also heard a discussion of some building inspectors having issues when they're not round head nails. The issue you brought up about the paper ones getting wet is a good point.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Thanks for the replies Mark. All good points all way round. Some guys wouldn’t have the plastic full headed nails, due to the difference in capacity like you mentioned, and the angle in degrees. And some would not want the other, so to each their own i guess? Always enjoy your videos and replies. Best!
I like SENCO 👍, but get the SNOW JOE ready ☃️
Haha, hard to believe cold weather is moving in, right after we had a record warm day yesterday. People were out mowing, golfing, etc.
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Can i shoot hitachi nails through this gun ..
Yes
I really really hate this framing nailer. Very heavy, bump fire takes a lot of effort just to push the safety in, and a few of them that I’ve used quit shooting right even if pressure settings are correct. Hitachi, Paslode, Metabo, anything is better than this gun
Interesting, I didn't notice the bump fire issue. This nailer is a couple pounds lighter than my old Senco, so it seems like a decent weight in comparison.
I'd be curious to see how it compares to a Metabo.
slowest nailer ive ever seen there....does it not have a bump mode? framing guns suck in single fire mode...i can hand drive a 16 penny faster....switch that trigger out asap...
Haha yes, I planned to make a YT shorts video today showing the new trigger.
I just switched out the trigger, here's the link to the shorts video... ruclips.net/user/shorts-DjaA71SIQ0?feature=share
