- House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) compared college campuses in Nazi Germany to college campuses today. He said that campuses have succumbed to an "antisemitic virus" and continued to say, "Students who were known for producing academic papers are now known for stabbing their Jewish peers in the eyes with Palestinian flags." Speaker Johnson continued before saying, " Now is a time for moral clarity and we must put an end to this madness." He also vividly described images of the Holocaust and compared them to images of the Oct. 7th attack in Israel by Hamas.

What you are stating is an extremely lazy version of blood libel and is the result of propaganda. They have made you believe that you don't know your own name because someone is saying your name wrong. It's extremely effective it seems and that makes it so scary to watch. You confidently believe in extreme lies and that makes dealing with you basically impossible. There is no genocide. Jews also do not drink the bl**d of babies. They do not commit human sacrifice. Listening to the speech a few minutes after it had started, i almost thought the speaker was describing the glorious state of Israel. Its so funny how the Nazi regime is so similar to Zionist regime. You could easily use similar verbs and nouns to describe the two.
Schools for some reason are always the first place to go. It is certainly the best target to cause havoc in a society, but it should also intuitively be extremely well defended against idiotic ideas and ideologies. Teachers truly seem to consist of people who do anything they are told with very little digestion. Most students will be like that by default since they are young.
I might be able to buy your argument for lower education-- but higher education is the front line of free speech. Throughout history they have been ideological battle grounds. If you're an American, that's a good thing. Most large student protests in our past are remembered because they were correct in hindsight and had similar crackdowns and media smears at the time.
Seeing crackdowns and media smears on these protests should be red flags to everyone. Don't take the bait. If you're ever not clear on who owns you, be sure to examine who and what you can't criticize.
