I experiment with retrobrighting to see if the daylight technique is still useful when there is no sunshine and the days are short
BECAUSE WHAT RUclips REALLY NEEDS IS ANOTHER RETROBRIGHTING VIDEO

Ahh.. that 80s computer beige. it never looked clean, even new. There is something immensely satisfying about cleaning stuff that is old and grimy. I think I must sub. oh, and your voice is sublime. ❤
Thanks KK, I must admit cleaning stuff up is the most rewarding part for me. Thanks for your kind words one of my other subs suggested I should do some AMSR vids LoL. Thanks for the sub.
6 years later and its a bit whiter,, just discovered your channel, great stuff love it, thanks
Yeah... the coco is still a bit yellow but much better than it was I think to get it perfect would take a long time. Glad you are enjoying the channel. Thanks so much for your comments.
Happy holidays, loved the video on Vince's page.
A great way to remove stickers and glue residue is lighter fluid and it evaporates quickly.
Thanks TNT Flips. Glad you enjoyed the Christmas special on Vince's You tube fixers.... gets a little more exposure over there, what with him having 750,000 more subs that I do! Thanks for the lighter fluid tip.
You've given hope to this Buffalonian's retro computer collection
Thanks Nathan. Is that Buffalo NY? I have been there a few times (I lived in pittsburgh PA for 13 years). This included one time in a snow storm on a flight from Philly when they closed pittsburghs runways, but somehow kept Buffalo's open. Wish you could send me some wings.
@@RetroTechRepair it is indeed Buffalo, NY! Surprised you managed to spend some time out this way. And yes, it is heavenly to be almost literally surrounded by quality wing joints.
@@natethefighter oh the wings! Nice to have a stateside sub. Thanks
i admire your optimism, at this time of year i've had snes shells sat in liquid peroxide for 3 weeks to get them to an agreeable shade again!
That's odd, no trickery here 1-3 days in the sun on the shortest day of the year. I just watched an "8-bit guy" where he claimed it was too overcast in Texas to retrobrite. Perhaps my hair bleach is super potent or the plastics of the TRS80 different. In fairness I've seen some VERY yellowed sness shells. I'd really like to try to repair one of those some day. Anyway. Thanks for you comments. Much appreciated.
@@RetroTechRepair oh yeah this shell was practically brown, much more severe than yours, plus a major factor in all of this is heat. even with the winter sun if it's pretty bitter outside it's going to take forever.
Impressive results considering the light, the before and after shots show a huge improvement. A but risky leaving them on your front step this time of year, your postie might have thought they were his random retro Christmas tip 😁🎄
I think postie knows better than to think I would tip him.. humbug! Thanks as always for the feedback. Tricky vid to put together that one, but I needed to retrobrite the stuff so I thought why not? Hope you had a great Christmas.
Great seaview there....I have similar but in Devon!
Thanks, the view is nice this time of year (when we can see through the trees without leaves). Living where I do has its pros and cons, it doesn't always attract nice people. Devon is lovely though we took the van down to Woolacombe earlier in the year. Absolutely gorgeous.
@@RetroTechRepair North Devon is great, I leave my touring caravan over in Bude.
I am in East Devon between Sidmouth and Exmouth and run a campsite so feel free to pop along next year and see this very laid back part of Devon!
@@BluejuiceT4 hi might do that I've been to Bude and Sidmouth but not since I was in my teens. Have good memories of both. Thanks again for your comments
1st up early having tea and toast and watching my favourite channel
Nice one ManCave Thanks for the comment. So glad that you enjoyed the video. Hope you had a great Christmas
I think you have discovered retro-dull 😂
LoL perhaps I have. I have to admit it was a surprise to me how well it did. I'm wondering whether the overnight in my nice warm flat was the reason it lightened. I sense a follow-up at some date. Thanks for the comments!
Excellent results! I’m very surprised at how well they turned out. Personally I would be happy to leave items out in the back garden for days on end if it gets the job done. I need to try this sometime, it’s something I’ve thought about.
Where abouts in North Yorkshire are you? I’m in Leeds. For some reason I thought you lived in Scarborough or somewhere near.
Anyway, thanks again for a very enjoyable video!
Hi Jase. I was pleasantly surprised too, like you I don't see value in building an expensive blue light box if with some patience you can get decent results. You are correct I'm in scarborough. Glad you enjoyed the video, its not been a roaring success. Perhaps too many retrovrite vids out there. Anyhow thanks for your comments. Very much appreciated!
British daylight??? Lol.. I live not far from you lad and I can clearly say that daylight list quite scarce.. the fact that you manage to get it more white than before must of come off the zenon headlights driving past.. good effort tho.
P.s good vid.
Glad you liked the vid... I think must have some special extra strength northern-strength hair bleach! I admit the result surprised me and I wonder if keeping it wrapped up in the warm room the night before was what did the work? Anyhow thanks for your comments. Much appreciated!
