There are a lot of tv shows that are all about the glamour and excitement of building projects, living the dream and all that bollocks, this shows the true reality, a lot of hard dirty filthy work that involves a lot of land fill and difficult to dispose of building materials, it is the very reason to have good buildings codes / regulations so that jobs are completed professionally and also so that people cherish the buildings they have and make them last .
Thank you. When everyone knows what to expect during a roof replacement the process becomes a lot less stressful for the homeowner. We're proud of our work and would like everyone to know what to expect.

That roof was only about 10 years old! It didn't last nearly as long as it should have due to poor drainage. We were able to resolve that issue during the installation by getting better water flow to existing drains and adding a few more in areas where they were needed. We went to great lengths to ensure that water wouldn't pool on this roof again. The new roof should last much, much longer. Thanks for the question.
This was great, been searching for "how do you calculate rafter length?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Beybigail Nonpareil Breakthrough - (do a search on google ) ? It is a great one off guide for discovering how to create better sheds and improve your woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my partner got great success with it.
I am doing my roof alone 1 versus 20 men in the video. Will take me longer but hey I save $$$$. I would be about $8000.00 because of the row home and the layers of mess that I cleared. Now I am sweeping and cleaning the roof to put down rubber bitumen material. My total cost will be appx $1500.00 and 5 vac days from work.
Not one to follow people, may work in dry countries, anywhere else that it may rain, sounds stupid, but ask your felt distributer if they can recommend and to lay the felt. Higher prices but longer life
One-ply of cap? Not on my house! Torch base, torch cap at a minimum over a living space, and I still would not put rubber on my house, Mop 4, mop cap if you prefer the cap. Pea gravel is better than the cap, The cap has a 10-20 year life span depending on conditions, the same as rubber cap, rock lasts forever! But the mop cap has a mop 4 ply under it, this torched cap does not. Mop 4 with pea gravel and you will have a 50+year roof with proper drainage and maintenance.
@@sampep Hi Sam, There are lots of videos here on RUclips on the deferent roofing system, and yes a 50 year roof system cost more than a 10 year roof system. 4 ply or fiberglass hot mop down requires a minimum $30.000 worth of equipment and skilled hot roofers. Don't let anybody go near your house with a torch until they prove to you they have insurance. Torch roofing insurance is very expensive! they tend to burn things down. Get lots of quotes from different companies on different roof systems, Tell them to give you multiple quotes on two or three or four different roof systems. start with the most reputable company in your area and work your way down. Thanks a lot, guys. This is a great video and we love that it will help our customers learn more about our flat roof replacement process.
Great video 👍 I love installing torch on.. playing with 🔥
How much would be the average price/sq for a roof like that without the foam insulation? I need to do a flat roof that is about 1800sqft.

Great video. I have a flat roof house here in Florida. The roof was replaced in 2016 by the prior owners and I was curious of the process.
This is really well done. It was great to see the whole process of replacing the roof and all of the work that goes into it. Thanks!

Flashings not chased into the wall! That won’t take long to leak.
What does that mean? What does chasing flashings into walls mean

That's what was thinking maybe they didn't have a grinder to cut into the mortar that day

its wild to see the shoty practices companies record and put out into the world for peopel too see. its kinda funy
It's freaking hilarious 😅. What shoddy work.
wait, did they just melt the rubber straight over the drip edge?
you removed plywood and added aspanite? why not the ply wood again? why cheepen it as it gains in structurial foundation.
And what actual system is this?
Looks like a pretty solid crew to me. These guys seem really attentive to their work. Nice video.
Thank you! We stand by our crew. Our guys are really top notch and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have such a hard working team.
the way they did caulking hurt my heart
Nice!

Torching to the Brick ?? No primer
3:13: Red fasteners. Does that mean this is a Firestone roof?
This is mineral felt and has nothing to do with firestone.. they make rubber roofing materials

Asbestos in the silver paint, penetrations, and flashing
We use cdx plywood not osb
I agree 5-ply CDX plywood
Good
I still can’t belive it 2 years later😂
You need a kicker around that chimney it's code and it wouldn't look so ugly
caulk is useless for flashing...
youre wrapping your corners almost like you would a single ply corner... wrong
20 grand roof.?
Hey Juan, we're not sure the exact cost of this roof installation. Do you do roofing work?
Easily that
This roof leaks within 2 years. Do not take notes from this.

Those chimney flashings are horrendous and why on earth would you use that colour felt
That is easily an 80,000$ dollar Roof.
Flat roofer lots of Dinero $$

Tax Slave what is the cost difference for gravel with 4 ply vs this then?
Probably need beefier roof too.

You use a hook rod and pull the roll
You dont walk on what you torched down
The lack of jobsite safety, specifically fall protection is a major concern. Definitely not an example to follow!
hmmm,,,
torching from the wrong side !!!
