nobody has to produce stuff like this again, its already been produced in an era im glad i lived in. no phone cams, dark night clubs and really good music. Every generation says the same but all envy the 90s trance scene
haven't heard this in many years. it just brought tears to my eyes. reminds me so much of my youth and the days of glorious anthem trance and the giant outdoor raves and all the incredible lights and thousands of people bouncing in rhythmic synchronization. the nights that never ended. the weekends that never ended. pounding trance taking the longest trip through the hallways of my mind.
+Heath Ward Check out a mix that i made consisting of Ferry Corsten's glorious trance anthems. It will certainly take you back to your youth ;-). Mix is uploaded on mixcloud, i have many trance sets from the late 90s era www.mixcloud.com/andy-b-jones2/trance-classics-by-ferry-corstern/
@djleeb Searching for the answers, searching for your smile, searching for your voice, talk to me.... where are you now... ...trust me, these are the lyrics :)
I lost this mix on my Napster CD in 2001 .. I have looked for this song for over 16 years and found it today. It has brought so many memories of when times where perfect, of times before social media, driving around with friends listing to music. Going to music festivals and clubs with out a care in the world. Those feeling shot back when this song came on. Life is good, music makes it better through the music we live
I could not agree more with every single one of you. Anyone who was clubbing in the UK between 96-03 will totally get it. This period in my life although it was a haze of wild 😜 weekends of total madness and debauchery I would not change it for the world it’s made me who I am today and I cemented amazing friendships with people in these clubs who are still close friends with me today some sadly are no longer here you know who they are ❤️The Trance era and generation got to experience something that only happens once in a lifetime any kids reading this won’t understand. We were like one big family every weekend filling the likes of Gatecrasher,Cream,Gods Kitchen,Passion and those who were hard core enough would then go on to Sundissential to continue the Madness until Monday morning it was just epic times and I feel blessed to have been a part of it I am 42 next month and still feel all different emotions when I hear these tunes because they still take you back to where you were and who you were with it would be so amazing to just go back in time and relive it again just for one night mind you it would take me a month to get over the come down haha 😂 stay safe my fellow Trance generation from Coronavirus 😷 x
I still, searching for the answer, searching for your smile, searching for your voice, talk to me. Where are you now? Where are you now, now, now, where are you now?
I had this on vinyl. And cd. This is one of the first tracks i came up onto trance with. As i grew into trance. I left it behind. As per my taste changed . But i hear it again now nearly 20 years later. And its a bangeras always.
Remember listening to this in so many parties and good clubs back in Newcastle and Leeds;a massive tune that needs a great soundsystem to appreciate how epic it is.Quality from Tidytrax.
Oh Man, when the rush hour is just a minute away and this dropped, surrounded by your circle of best friends, all on the same vibe, all on the same party favors, all lost in the happiness and love of it all... HELLO OKLAHOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so miss the raves at The Electric Workshop in Johannesburg...such a great time and scene to have been a part of in the 90`s...
39 years old.... Still utterly SPEECHLESS at this magical era of my youth.... It doesn't even seem real that it's been that long ago now but....these days stay still SO close to me as if I were hanging onto both my past and my future.... We went through a very temporary time rift or warp into a place that was so very special if for only a little while. When I die I hope to regain the happiness of these blissful days.
***** I wondered the same thing for years. This track is one of my all-time favorites, so I asked Robert Smit (The Generator) and he was kind enough to respond: "Searching for the answer, searching for your smile, searching for your voice, talk to me. Where are you now (x2) now (x2)"
Jonathan King yeah like 16 years. i miss those days. the golden days of dance music- what they have now doesn't compare. but then i would say that i guess. no fuck it- there's nothing like this, cafe,la,addagio, komodo, communication etc not forgetting silence and all the faithless classics from that era.
thestickmalone Thank you so much for the lyrics! Trauma has been added to the lineup for the Tidy event on New Year's Day, which reminded me of this track (as he did one of the remixes). After 15 or more years of wondering what the lyrics are, now I know. Would never have figured them out, but I can hear them now!
thestickmalone Thanks but since I never could understand it it’ll always be for me ‘slim shit was the answer..slim shit why u smell..slim shit bring ur florest back to me..where are you now!’ Lmaoo fml
2020 and this song is still pure bliss to hear, and I will still be enjoying it forever more.❤️ thank you to the almighty DJ gods for the tracks and tunes that are made past, present, and future ❤️
And what a club that was!!!! Unbelievable. I'm so glad I was able experience such amazing music and people. Omg remanising gives me great feelings 😁😁😁😁
Used to ho there nearly every week. Donny warehouse, onto gatecrasher and then insomniacs. Good times. Boxing day 1999 was the last time I'd end up going to gatecrashers. I heard the place burned down. Don't know how true it is.
Mitch Lee But Ferry Corsten is back under his Gouryella alias with his oldschool trance sound with a 2016 flavour! Check out his releases Anahera and Neba!
+Tekstyler no offence if you like it but dubstep is possibly the STUPIDEST noise I've ever heard... but yeah I agree Ferry is back. I try to listen to his weekly podcast
Mitch Lee I listen all kinds of electronic (dance) music like trance, eurodance, house, UK garage, rave, hardstyle, ambient, techno, EDM, .. and dubstep also a little bit sometimes.. But I prefer classic uplifting trance music. That's my real love and passion!
Funny how you could go raving all over the country, back in the day, but there are certain tunes that will always remind you of one particular club. Well, this tune here will forever remind me of the Doncaster warehouse in 1999. Everyone would get up for this one. I close my eyes and I'm stood on that dancefloor. The smoke machine is in full effect and I can hardly see the person in front of me, but I can hear hundreds of feet stomping on the floor in unison. MAGIC!
For a long while I've been listening to this oldschool trance and all I can say is that I envy to the lot who used to rave on this...I was born in '92 and my dad used to listen to this and some old club/dance from the early '00 so I really grew up with this music, have really nothing but pure love for this music and electronic in general...
@RobertSmiter Thanx a million for providing the lyrics ! Now the mystery has been solved, it took me many years to find it out! And trust me, I've heard it 6 million times :) Best song ever!!!!!
Reminds me of Strawberry Sundae, Sunnyside Up/Mind Over Matter and Freedom in London back then. I'd love to return to one of those Saturday nights just once more. It's amazing just how wonderful the sounds were back then - the best ever IMHO. 1996-2003 never to be repeated.
Still the best remix of this. One of the best trance songs ever, original is good and the tidy revamps are awesome. Wid and Ben remix but technikal remix probably tops the modern remixes. Still this version brings back so many memories for me and still adore it
The Gold Standard Of 90`s Trance Music - Sadly nobody is ever gonna produce music like this ever again - Its absolutely Glorious !!
nobody has to produce stuff like this again, its already been produced in an era im glad i lived in. no phone cams, dark night clubs and really good music. Every generation says the same but all envy the 90s trance scene

Absolute monster of a track..Robert what was your inspiration behind this track and in particular the lyrics ?
Been trying to work out for 20 years what the lyrics were !!
Just found this here after losing it on vinyl 10+ years ago & not hearing it since. Straight to the heart. Tears. Thank you so much for this music.
A masterpiece, Robert.

without argument the best period for trance of that calibre. ...take me back...!!

Gives me tingles without E
Where would you put 2020?😅
Agree 100%

Still a massive Choooooon!!! Here in September 2021
Still lifts the hairs on the back of my neck. Amazing track.
Who’s listening in 2021 :-D
When Trance is in your blood, the year that you are listening becomes irrelevant 😀
True!
Amen sir
I still, searching for the answer, searching for your smile, searching for your voice, talk to me.
Where are you now? Where are you now, now, now, where are you now?
This is still number 1 for me after all these years

Timeless uplifting track!
I have listened to this hundreds of times. Hundreds!!
What a tune! Brings back so many memories!!! Dancing to this on the dancefloor @gatecrasher ❤❤❤
Been hunting for this tune for years. Couldn't even remember the name of it but had it plying in my head. So glad I found it

I recently did an interview with Robert Smit, the producer of this track, about "Where Are You Now?". You can find it on my channel now. Enjoy!
This Ferry Corsten's remix 🤘
@@DJDonkeytron
Yep, but The Generator is Robert Smit. Robert and Ferry were both at Tsunami records by then.
@@candesco which is true, but again this is the Ferry Corsten Moonman remix! The original is ok, but this is a monster remix 😎
this song will never grow old. 90's trance will never be beaten
Craig Thompson No it will not slip into obscurity. It will live strong amongst us like Classical Music.
20+ years on, still blowing my mind.
Solid gold... This takes me back to when the seeds of love were planted in my mind for this music. Can't believe it was released 20 years ago.
Miss this oldschool sound so much. the nostalgia!
In the beginning there was trance, and it was good. Music from the 90's and 00's was so much better than todays...
+tr4nc3f0rm3r producers have no soul these days. They just churn out complete rubbish to EDM kids that love it
Yes 😢

Trance was the BEST sound to play to a big crowd. Nothing else even came close to how well the people reacted.

Still spinning on vinyl. What an up-lifter :-)

Emotions into you so ...powerful and magic

This tune was my introduction to hard house. Well this and Bexta but hands down one for my all time
Always has ticked every box for me. The pump of the bass the arp melody and vocoder voice. Moonman mixes are brilliant
This takes me way back!! Been searching for this track since I lost it on cassette tape for many many years! Classic!
unbelievable trance anthems in 98, 99, 00.. but awesome tunes till 2006. then electro house took over... but trance is where it's at for me
