The mainstream media and met office could learn a lot from your forecasts. Absolutely spot on pretty much all the time. Brilliant and thank you from Upminster.
Agreed, Met Office in particular have been very poor over the last few winters often getting the forecasts completely wrong especially for Snow. It makes me question is this why BBC stopped using them for majority of their data.
@@gabixu93 Yes but the Met Office have their own models. Sure they make some charts and models available such as the UKV but I presume they have other discretionary information that is not shared. When issuing forecasts Met Office may look at GFS and ICON etc just as WeatherWatcher does, but Met Office tends to base their forecasts primarily on their own Models such as UKV. For example the recent UK cold spell and todays snow in England, Met Office favoured their own models over GFS and ICON etc last weekend and predicted snow much further North which turned out to be completely wrong and not for the first time. So yes WeatherWatcher is also using these models but he ellaborates on all possible scenarios and trends without favouring one particular model.
Yep, I think it;s very useful...I don;t know why more people don;t invest in a boat of some kind. Ive seen Waterworld with Kevin Costner.....................
Yorkshire, doG's county. Loads of snow in my home city of Sheffield. Meanwhile here in South Lanarkshire it's been frost af and really nice. Sniw followed by rain next weekend 😮😢 Good report Chris!
As usual...here's southeast Bavaria reporting: Dog walk at 4 p m this afternoon at 11C° with strong gusts of wind (we were warned about 55km/h - 70km/h) Beautiful though ...fast moving clouds and patches of sunshine. Now at 7 pm still +9C°, but local forecast says snow after midnight and temperature shall drop to 2C° Thank you for your great work. Best weather channel! 👍
Thankyou for this. Here where i live on the east coast of the UK we got heavy snow from 10.30pm to around 2am.It settled on the grass and cars but thankfully not the roads.
Thanks for the forecasts and videos. I'm clinging on to the hope this storm system 3 over the UK stops upon the blocking and fails too spread the mild air in. Thus slipping back South giving more widespread Snow, probably wishful thinking 😂.
Many thanks. We had a lot of rain yesterday through into evening where I am south UK. To be honest my garden pot plants needed it! More rain today but thats alright.
Always fascinating......As is your accent. I can't quite pinpoint it's derivation, aside from American. Meteo France is predicting temps of 19c here on Sunday....Weather is a little bizarre at the moment.
You were spot on with us getting snow in England. In the senior school behind me in Chipping Sodbury the children had great fun having snowball fights today. 😂
I wasn't among those that commented on not being able to make out the countries, but the colors are definitely much better. It's going to be cold during the day and hitting freezing and below for a few days here in south/central Tennessee U.S. That's not the norm for this time of year. I sure hope that people are preparing as best as they can. They certainly are without excuse as far as being warned.
Thank You for new great video, I like that we can see the state borders on the precipitation map now, it's much easier, I'm looking forward to the snow in the mountainous area of Croatia, this morning there were mini tornadoes and local floods on the Adriatic, Abundant snow arrives especially in Bosnia and the higher regions of the Western Balkans, especially the Alps
I was in Estonia on the weekend. The winds were fierce on Saturday and it rained almost all the time. I crossed the Gulf of Finland on a cruise ship and people were seasick and vomiting everywhere. Some said that this kind of storm hasn't happened before. Now the Finnish map is full of yellow, tan and even red warnings.
Buckeling up for 30 cm of snow! I’m in Sweden, North of Stockholm in an area notorious for intense snowing. Longing for the Winters light a k a snow😃☃️🌨️
On November 17th, in Saint-Petersburg, rus, we had heavy storm and a lot of incoming water from Baltic sea, up to 200 centimetres above the average level. If we hadn't a damp, which protects the city, we would have the flooding. The westerly wind was up to 32 meters per second. And tomorrow we are expecting the heavy snowfall, yes.
Well, there was snow in southern Norway yesterday. And it has not melted either. Salted roads from here on and out I head there was insane floods in Bosnia, so trains are kind of cancelled. It's not looking good for Balkans onwards either.
Weather Services did not predict any UK wintry weather in advance, also reluctant to give correct low temperatures readings, yet always eager to exaggerate summertime maximums. Scottish temperatures fell below minus ten Celsius, last night....UK Met Office say minus three. which is untrue.
Leicester got snow, but Monday evening near midnight, it was sleet and some flakes. 7 to 10 miles north in Loughborough got a good covering while my area was 1cm. Further up the hill it was around 1 inch. 30 miles north of me in Nottingham, there was 12cm (about 4.5 inches of snow) I was not happy with the snow as I was expecting much more like everyone else! I have no clue to what led it to be sleet rather than snow........
A layer of warmer air in the atmosphere melted the snowflakes and caused them to refreeze into ice pellets/sleet in your area… it’s the unfortunate reality of winter weather events working with marginally cold air
@@WeatherWatcher14 it was very weird. uphill areas up the road had 2 to 5cm, especially in 2 parts of Leicester. i remember the temperature here was between 1c and 0.5c at the air temperature. i got really unlucky hopefully next snow event in proper winter will be good
