Microsoft Azure Dashboard in Grafana - Tutorial

  • Grafana is a great product for data visualization and custom dashboards. Azure has it's own monitoring tools and Azure monitor, but to be honest it is not very convenient to operate with all that data inside the Azure portal. Grafana has a native data source for the Azure monitor which can be configured in a few minutes.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I still struggled getting it setup, but managed to in the end with a couple of enhancements. 1) App registration -> Authentication -> Allow public client flows. 2) Azure CLI to assign role for Application ID (as not showing up in my list)

      Both grafana and azure are rapidly growing projects, so this video might be not up to date. But I'm glad that you sorted it out

    How can we query on resultDescription? Like we do for AppService console logs in azure portal

    In my case granting role "Monitoring Reader" to Grafana app was required instead of "Contributor". Otherwise Grafana could not connect to Azure.
