What Charlie did was despicable, but he’s grieving on his own. Nancy’s basically said that he should put his own feelings aside and be there for Ella as if he’s not just as hurt
Can't believe Charlie. He supposed to support Ella not be against her. I do feel sorry for her. Nobody should go through this.
Hes just hurting and grieving himself, he's lost a baby too its not all about Ella! I think in this situation no one is supposed to do anything (least of all because of their gender) - trust me theres no script when it comes to mourning the death of someone
He's grieving too. You can't expect him to be able to fully support her whilst trying to keep himself in one piece too. He's also really young, so of course he can't do that.
What shocks me is Nancy's attitude - she's supposed to be his step-mother and she cares more about Ella and actually calls Charlie Stupid just because he has feelings over the loss of his baby. Nancy's attitude is just pure toxic here

Its not anyones fault hes just mad so he's taking it out on ella and for Nancy to call him stupid isnt right he hurting too but all she cares about is ella feeling i understand she hurting alot. How is he the worst. It's our fault as women too when we want men to be fathers it's on our terms. When we don't want them involved at the start to keep or abort we don't give them that right. Is seems like from sex to the child death all rights on Tue child is for the mother. Now when fathers don't want anything to do with them we blame them too. If we humans just give rights to both parents then everyone good be happier.

I’d (controversially) say it is harder nowadays for men than it is for women, as it’s men that have to meet the harsh stereotypes and regulations that are set for them, yet they are wrong if they break away from those stereotypes

Ella told Charlie she temporarily considered a termination but changed her mind very shortly after. Charlie could’ve deducted that Cleo’s mention of abortion to him was outdated info and should’ve trusted his girlfriend to keep him informed, bc she’s literally always been a reliable and good character to him. I’m very disappointed with Charlie in this scene. Trashing a memorial is absolutely sickening, but I think he’s just angry at the moment. He’s angry the baby’s gone so he’s looking for someone to blame and I know it’s not Ella’s fault….at all. But people deal with grief in different ways and sometimes it’s very hard for some people to come to terms with. I do hope at some point that Charlie sees the error of his ways and apologises.

I never had a miscarriage myself but my 40 year old daughter had a miscarriage one child and 10 years later became pregnant to everyone joy sadly she miscarried. Looking forward to being a new granny again I cried buckets not to mention the years of my daughter and her family. That's the upset miscarriage causes in real life. Not who should be with who in Hollyoaks
E Oh my OA I’m so sorry to hear that. How did the Father of your Daughter’s Baby take it when that happened? Also our older Half-Sister Lindsey never had a miscarriage but she had a stillborn with her first Son after she was booted out of the Marine core. She got married to our oldest Half-Brother-In-Law Joseph and had another Son named Korban and now a three Year old Daughter named Aelin. Blessings, love and support from my Country!!!! ☺️

You know what I was like Elle I was looking at all my opinions too then I found out my baby was gone I blame myself I blame the baby dad for the stress I still do grieve is hard to deal with

Kirsty Ison OA exactly! It’s also no one’s fault that a Mother had a stillborn as well! Our older Half-Sister Lindsey had a Son Years ago back when she got booted out of the Marine core but when nature gave it’s course he was a stillborn. Years later she got married to Joseph (who was in the Navy core) and had a Son named Korban and now they have a Daughter named Aelin. I don’t think they told them about their deceased Half-Brother yet though plus they still haven’t told them about my soulmate Father’s death as well. I don’t know anyone who’s had a miscarriage in my Family but like I said our older Half-Sister Lindsey had a stillborn. Apparently I don’t know which one is more sadder!!!! 😔

After losing 6 babies myself, in both a marriage that became abusive over time - and a very abusive relationship from the start. I had hysterectomy in 2018 4 years after my last baby loss, my ex husband refused to let me talk about the baby, at first I thought it was because he was hurting to. But he eventually said that I should "get on with my life, stop moping about "baby" because it's gone" - nice guy right!?
I have since been told by my sisters in law that when I was in hospital, they rang him to see if he was ok, and he said "yeah I'm good, never wanted it anyway" - now I'll just add that I have infertility problems, and the whole time I was married to him, and before we married minus baby Barton as I call him/her we were not "careful" at all.
And my last pregnancy/miscarriage was with my ex boyfriend who isn't even worthy of a name! He's referred to as "arse*ole" (- put the * in case I'm told off for swearing!😂)
And he alienated me from all my friends, I was a size 12 when we started our relationship and by the time we hit a year, I was a size 18. Always made me feel stupid in front of our group of friends. But when I fell pregnant for the 1st time! (There's more once!) He automatically told me what to do - abortion.
But after I went to the clinic and had a scan, the woman accidentally said "he's a bit small" so that was it. I knew my baby was a boy. I knew I couldn't go through with it anyway, but knowing what sex my baby was, made it all more real. Only thing now, was to tell arse*ole that I was keeping my son!
We were going to take our mate and his girlfriend to the airport on 24th july, 2005 I woke up in agony, and bleeding - it soon became clear that I was losing my boy, I rang the maternity ward, sadly they could only give me advice at time, so that day I was told to just (by arse*hole) shut and take paracetamol! I lost Tommy, then 4 more babies before the very last one, he wanted to go out with the lads, and I told him to go, is just call an ambulance (yes I'd finally gained strength to talk back to him! 💪) in the middle of my conversation with the 999 disbatcher, he to my phone hung up! Effing and jeffing, he drove me to the hospital, once there I told him exactly how I felt, which made him really mad, but being at the hospital he knew he couldn't blow up like he usually did, so I called my mum, she was the one giving me support, bearing in mind at this point, I was now 21, and he was 22. After that day I got my things from his parents and I went back home. Sadly not know that worse relationship was round the corner. But from 21 up until 27 I was single, but once I'd met my soon to be husband, we weren't careful like his said so I'd not expected to fall pregnant, I was over the moon, but also petrified because of my past, and little while I was aware of baby Barton I was so happy, and my ex husband even suggested names so I thought he was happy too!
I know I've gone on a really really long history lesson haha but I wanted to show that just because Charlie's a teenager doesn't excuse his behaviour, he needs some to talk to properly. It was inexcusable blaming Ella, and using "he's only a teenager" isn't right either. Because guys have used those exact same words no matter what age they are.
( I know it's only a programme 😁 but when they use certain subjects I just want to get my point across)

@@ChelseyLinden I can live with a error in a text but not in a letter or in my teaching job. When writing a text I have only one eye on it as I'm most likely doing something else at the same time. I'm retired from full time teaching now but take students in for grinds in the evenings. So pretty busy so a error in a short text is the least of my worries.

I think the way nancy was pushing him didn't help not that what he said to ella was ok, but they were all acting like she was the only one to loose the baby, people always say guys don't show emotions etc but then when things like this happen it's the guy whose always having to be the strong one so you can see why that is... Always found them dating and stuff wierd their practically step siblings..... :S
I know Ella is young, but she knows other women go through it. She’s got social media. No one can be that ignorant. I know it’s devastating, I’ve been through it myself. I find this bad though, Charlie hasn’t really been taken to the side and had someone ask how he feels. It’s crushing for both parents. Not just women. We may carry the baby, but without a man’s help we can’t make a baby 😳
