My son's mother-in-law is quite handicapped by muscular dystrophy and she recently discovered circular knitting machines like the one you feature here. It is wonderful how enthusiastic she has become to be able to make again. I am an avid hand knitter, but our enthusiasms for the craft of knitting and for yarn really connect now and I am so happy and excited for her as she learns her craft! Accessibility is everything so I no longer judge!
Ahhh yes! THIS is an excellent reason why these tools are FABULOUS. If it gets folks making after not having access, then it's golden. So happy for your son's MIL. ❤️
I completely agree that these are wonderful accessibility tools. Not everyone can knit for longer periods of time, or at all, and this is a great way to enjoy the craft/hobby. I also see it being beneficial as a tool to get bulk work done and to save your wrist/hands/back strength for the more fun work like shaping etc.
@@rachellehamilton it’s a huge game changer for us knitters who suffer with hand pain. I even rig mine with an electric screwdriver. About two days after knitting several hats my shoulder feels like I was in a street brawl 😂
If you spend a little time googling; there's an older couple (they're adorable) who make an attachment for the Sentro that makes crank without the need of your hands. You have a little peddle like a sewing machine. It's really cool and absolutely something I want for myself one day! You might want it for your son's MIL as well.
In my opinion, anything that makes crafting more accessible or fun for people is a great thing. Tools that can help with producing knits for charity, or ease stress on hands or the mental stress of time are always valuable.
I made the splurge on the Addi, I also have the 40 pin Sentro. The Addi is much more sturdy and clamps to my TV tray easily. The suction cups on the Sentro do not stick. I do much more than plain stockinette stitches, by wrapping the pegs differently you can achieve patterned knitting. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have days that I cannot hold knitting needles. I knit hats for the homeless in Alaska
I got an Addi Xmas 2021. I went through my stash and pulled out all my thin acrylic yarns. I made stocking hats and donated them. I've donated close to 150 hats. My purpose was to clear my stash of yarns that I wouldn't want to use for myself and to help me organize my studio. I crank about 130 rows for a hat. If I do about twice that & stretch it you can make a scarf.
I’m a machine and hand knitter. The difference to me is akin to sewing something by hand or sewing something using a sewing machine. And, I call both methods knitting. (We don’t call the different methods of sewing by different names.). Final thought - I often combine machine knitting with hand knitting to make things. Both methods are meditative for me.
Could imagine this would be an effective method of making sleeves quickly I know a lot of people loose steam when they get to the sleeves of the project
@@caradanellemcclintock8178 I think it would make wonderful sleeves! I actually put one of my hat tubes on my arm just to see if it would fit, and it was perfect!
I bought my Sentro a couple of weeks ago to make hats for charity because I am a slow knitter and the process of trying to make a bunch of them by hand would be painful. I paid $60 on Amazon and I absolutely LOVE it! Not only have I been making hats for charity, but I've made several for my grandson and husband, and it is so quick, easy, and fun. I've done solid colors, stripes, 2-color...it's sparked my creativity, and did I mention it's FAST?! It is also helping me fly through stash, and I love it!!
Your thought processes were exactly what I went through when I first considered a machine. Right up to the "does it have to be pink?" I do love it. I only use mine for charity hats and I am able to get a bunch out each year while still knitting other fun things by hand. For the top closure, you can also start and end the hat with waste yarn and do a Four Point Close on the top. It looks more polished (tons of RUclips instructions.)
I am considering buying one for my library for kids or adults to use to make hats for our social services department to hand out to people in need! We already have our knitting group that hand knits charity donations, but imagine how many we could crank out if we had this?? (LITERALLY)
Denise, your thoughts on if a 48 needle machine could make baby hats or do you think a 40 needle machine would be better. I do hats for charity and they want baby hats. So your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Omg! It’s totally that hospital plastic pink! 😂 I think it would be fantastic for charity knitting. I have an I-cord mill as well and I use it for drawstrings and even cranked three cakes of Mandala yarn into long I-cords to make a braided rug. These things definitely have a purpose. 💗
Ha! I’ve never had a baby but it did immediately remind me of the color of the posters and models in my gynecologist’s office. There’s something about that shade…
I love that ‘whatever speckles your yarn!’ Machine knitting seems so derisive. I have 7 people in my family to knit for and a full time job. You bet your bottom dollar I used my CSM to knit 18 pairs of ribbed socks this year for Christmas! I am capable of knitting very intricate items, but plain knitting by hand isn’t worth my time. The items are still hand made and made with love!
I bought one of these for my 6 year old grandaughter and ... she figured it out within the first hour and had a hat made by the end of the day. She loves being able to make hats for her friends for birthday gifts, etc.. I have to admit that she onky does the cranking and I take it off of the machine and stitch the tops together for her ,,, but she is learning to do those things herself. I'd say another couple of months and she'll have that down too,
Tayler, that beanie is so stinkin’ cute! I agree with you - the knitting machine has its purpose, and would never replace the meditative process of hand knitting. But for something like charity knitting or that cute beanie? I’d be all over it!
Taylor kudos to you, this episode was done in such a professional way. You highlighted lots of great things and provided great content, without judgment and allowing anyone watching to learn and explore this option. Thank you, excellent job !
I think you hit the nail on the head. It's a fast, easy, amazing way to knit up simple things that you don't want to spend a week or two knitting by hand. The hats all look great. And I agree on buying this over a $300.00 machine. My Mom use to knit on the big fancy knitting machines. She loved them and made so many incredible things. That's a whole different kind of knitting machine!
I have both sizes of knitting machines and have loved using them for gifts and charity. I've made hats scarves and earwarmers. It's fun and doesn't take away from my handknits either. Great episode!!!
I have a family of seven people for whom I'm the sole producer of hand-knitted socks. We live on the Oregon Coast, so we are prone to CTD (Cold Tootsie Disorder) essentially year-round. A circular sock knitting machine is ABSOLUTELY on my list of things I would like to acquire. Will I still knit the heel-flap and gusset, toes and ribbed cuffs? Yes. While I have tried to pry various members of my family away from other hobbies to teach them the Joy of Knitting, I have so far been unsuccessful. I will gladly welcome a little mechanical assistance in my crusade against CTD.
There is a yarn dyer out there who buys what she calls sock blanks. It’s a long tube of sock material similar to tube socks only really nice yarn and very small conventional size stitches. She dyes three mini skeins of solids to go with the variegated yarn that the sock blank comes in. She can get two pair of socks out of one of those long tubes by using her hand dyed yarn for the toes the heel and the cuff. It’s been a long long time since I had knit and this I think a Sentro would be a great way for me to get back into it. But I’ve also thought about doing the sock kits. I can’t remember who it was unfortunately. If I can remember or find it I will come back and link it to this comment. It might be a way for you to combine convenience with handknitting until you can get a machine as they look to be expensive. I can remember back in the early 70s (yes I am that old) knitting for my brothers rainbow colored toe socks because they could not wear sandals to school unless they wore socks with them. This is back when schools actually had dress codes. They were very thrilled with them but I was really really tired of knitting those long tubes. The fun part was all the shaping and the fun little toes.
Oh, another use I saw for yarn dye-ers. You can hold two strands of sock yarn together and make a "sock blank" out of undyed yarn, if you are into that kind of thing.
Thank you Dominika! And ABSOLUTELY NOT in regards to the guilt. If we can make things easier, we're happier. Happier people are nicer. So on and so forth. 😘
I have used this machine for a couple of years. I started for charity knitting. Made so many hats I wore out the machine. I just bought a new one it came just before Christmas, I knit hats for each of my 6 grandkids for Christmas in a couple of days.
After knitting a hat for my dad recently that was miles and miles of stockinette stitch and being bored out of my mind, I can definitely see the appeal of this. I'm not currently in the market for a knitting machine, but it definitely has its uses.
I love to hand knit and crochet and I am predominantly a process knitter. I also quite like the look of plain stockinette for many of my garments and accessories. For that reason, and also because I must limit hand work due to pain, I incorporate both flat and circular machines into my knitting enjoyment. Thank you for this video, I really appreciated your intro.
I have one and use it for charity items such as Hats not Hate. It is fun to be able to crank out those items fast and quick. It is perfect for someone who just wants to have a. It of fun especially for kids.
Absolutely loved this video, I have Arthritis in my hands and wrist, although I still knit and crochet by hand occasionally, I find that my hands start cramping up. So, I have been looking into a knitting machine and you just answered all of my questions. Thank You. I am definitely going to purchase one to help out with my knitting.
I have to say I clicked on this because honestly I thought you were going to destroy it and say hand knitting is sooo much better but you have actually sold me on this and I will get one to knit hats for hospitals and other things. Thanks so much.
I have two sizes of the knitting machines (48 and 22 pins) and they're awesome. You can make so much more than just plain knit hats. Toys, shirts, house goods, Ive even seen pants but haven't tried it myself. They're great when you are going to need to do many things at once (life interruptions) or if you have to crank out a few projects fast. There are some really great groups that share patterns to try.
Wow , love the video and yes love hand knitting as well. A bonus for me machine knitting. I have all the makes and sizes in the Sentro & the two sizes in the Addi. Plus oldie but goodie Bond knitting machine. When storing them turn the machine upside down fibers do collect in those chambers. The weight I was told to use was 3-4 . Last year I purchased cashmere lite and cashmere bulky from Webs and surprisingly everything came out beautiful on the Sentro.. I personally would like to compose all my notes and write a book using these very machines. 😊🧶🧵🙌📚📝❣️
Spot on review. I am a hand knitter and crocheter. I just received this for Christmas. I immediately cranked out 2 hats. I added a fur pom pom to one of them. They look great. I love the idea of being able to create plain hats quickly. This leaves me time to create things by hand that are more intricate or interesting. It definitely won't replace my hand knitting or crochet. It was fun and I definitely will use some of my stash that's been hanging around forever for charity knitting.
I am a crocheter, but have always loved the look of knit, but never learned. This machine has enabled me to make knit items. I got one as a gift, and was surprised how quickly I was able to make a hat. You hit on everything, my son said we can make more to sell. I really enjoyed this video, thank you for your thoughts!
I am not much of a knitter. But i crochet more. I am getting my first sentro mechine this week. I am super excited. I can't stay force on one hat for long but i love to make bigger things with the machine. I believe this machine is good for knitter and crocheter people. I love your honest reviews
I really enjoy using my machines. I also enjoy hand crochet and knitting but life doesn't always allow me the time to produce crochet and knit items as quickly as I'd like. These machines allow you to get a really quick result which can be very motivating and encouraging. This year I had 9 teacher gifts to make, I ended up making them all ear warmers and some fingerless gloves/wrist warmers. I wouldn't have hand knitted or crochet that amount in all honesty, that would take away some of the joy of the hobby xxx
I’ve seen knitting machines on the market and never felt curious enough to research for myself, but I think I’ve been influenced. 😩😩😩 I prefer knitting shawls, socks, and clothes for my daughter and never cast on hats. This would be perfect for gift knits!!!
Thank you. I own the Innovation. It is no longer made but came out before the Sentro. It is because of this machine that I wanted to learn to knit. I use this machine to make hats for my grandkids in the winter cause they are constantly loosing them. Thank you for sharing such a positive experience with this machine.
In my opinion…I would invest in the Addi machine. The fact that you can replace parts is worth it in the long run. I really like that you can anchor the Addi to a surface with the clamps that come with it. All things considered…the Sentro is a good start….but having had my Addi for years….I feel like it was a good investment from the start.
Not bad if one needs to make knitted items fast. The color is cute too. Absolutely agree that it will never replace the process of hand knitting especially the meditative aspect.🌻😊
I totally agree about the color of it. I blew it off for a long time because I thought it really was a child's toy. And yes, I'm getting one because my Mom made things for charity and I want to do the same but I don't know how to knit. Plus I have my mom's huge yarn collection to start with.
Thank you, Taylor. A group of young to older adults with developmental disabilities has been sampling lots of crafts to expand their leisure activity choices. My family members tried the hand “knitting “ looms but they were a little too difficult in skill and dexterity. Their program coordinator is considering purchasing a hand crank knitter that they can use for all of the reasons you suggested. As an aside, I bought a few of the looms in different sizes and gauges and it reignited my love of knitting by hand ( after loom knitting a dozen hats). I even have knitted up hats and gloves for gifting from my highly prized “Taylor “ stash of yarns.
I got my Sentro knitting machine for Christmas and I am really enjoying learning to use it. Thank you for your in depth review! And I love the hats you made with it.
I have the 48 pin and the smaller 40 pin ones. I use the big one for hats and the small one for headbands, great way to work through stash yarn and yes when I had joint pain it was great. It is soooo finicky with what yarn it likes sometimes though. Your review is exactly right!
Oh totally! Joint pain can really get in the way of hand-knitting and this is a solid way to make up for it some. And yes, the finicky nature of the machine in regards to yarn can be sort of annoying, however at least it limits us on choice...lord knows we don't need anymore choices in yarn!! Thank you for watching!! ❤️
i love this!!!! i don't have one, but it's so disheartening to see the attitude that some knitters have toward it. i think it's a fun tool (however toy-like, lol) that could definitely earn a spot on my craft shelf!
I really like the way the hats turned out, they look really good. Thank you for telling us viewers about this machine, it really has been handy. 💖🌹🙂🙋♀️
Loved your review! I just purchased this machine myself and have been playing with it for a few days. I also feel like it will come in so handy for swatching yarns to see how the fabric will look knitted up! I'm going to use it to help me decide on yarns to use in some of my knitting patterns. So I agree! It will give us a way to knit swatches up quickly and leave more time for the designing process.
My knitting machines have opened a whole new way to keep doing my love of knitting. I can make numerous items quickly and they look as good as hand knitting. I have severe shoulder and neck pain which limits me on how long I can knit. I have made over a dozen hats. I crochet, knit, cross stitch and enjoy it very much lately my knitting machine has given me so much joy. I can crank out hats quickly to donate or sell. Thank you for your review.
I have a very cheap ($30ish) also pink, 40 needle knitter and a big Addi. The cheap one only makes child and baby-sized hats, but it is WAAAAY better than the Addi! I've had so much trouble with dropped stitches and not being able to use many types of yarn with the more expensive machine. I love knitting, but I also love knitting cute hats fast in a pinch! Thanks for your review.
I bought the Sentro to see if I'd like knitting machines before I invest in something expensive. I honestly love it and don't have any reason to get the Addi. It's quiet, I've never had snags, and I use it to crank out hats for shelters. I love that you can do a double layer warm hat in about 20 to 30 min. Wish there were more pins and tighter tension, but for $50 it's amazing. Piece of advice, if you get one on Amazon, make sure the seller is Sentro to ensure you don't get a knockoff. Also, I'd love it in navy and gold.
Love how you released this video now. I actually ordered this machine on Christmas Day because I have been wanting one for a long time now. I’m so glad to hear your positive reviews and it makes me more excited to receive mine.
I couldn’t agree with you more. I hand knit a pair of socks for a present and wanted to make a matching hat. Cranked it out in less than 15 minutes and it was loved probably more than the socks. With fingering weight you need to hold it double at least-and I found that fine. Thanks for your review!
I wasn't able to articulate thefrustration I feel with having so many ideas, and not being able to physically able to produce that amount. Yes I am a product knitter. My ideas are about the finished article, and knitting is the medium. I enjoy the knitting, but then start sighing because I am STILL knitting, but I have four other finished articles in my head. Love the hat! Thank you.
I bought this machine for a friend as a thank you gift. I personally own the Addi version before they cost an arm and a leg. I need to spend some time with mine as I see you have nice looking tension and mine looked too loose. I’m glad you did this version. Oh, I also own an Erlbacher sock knitting machine, now that is a hoot! Wishing you all the best in 2023
Awesome video! I bought the Addie few weeks ago on sale! It works very well and had better reviews for the long term use! After watching you today I decided to buy the machine you were using the sentro just to compare the products. I love using lots of different yarns in my patterns. The Addie works best with worsted 4 it seems. I came to the same conclusions it’s rather addictive. I’ve made at least 25 to 30 hats enjoying every moment cranking one out! Your video was very informative and I’m looking forward to trying the Sentro!
Really excellent breakdown of the Sentro knitting machine. Thank you for helping me make up my mind about which machine to buy. Very informative video.
Thank you! I've been considering an Addi for over a year because I have loads of yarn and like to charity knit but also enjoy hand knitting and other crafts but there is only so much time. I wasn't sure about the Addi alternatives and couldn't justify the price of an Addi. I will be purchasing this machine for hats and scarves mainly. I've seen some great tube scarves on the internet. This was so helpful and the hats are great.
I was not interested in this episode and said so on your survey. However, after watching this, the sentro might be very helpful for my charity knit hats. Thanks! 😂
Thank you for this honest and thorough review. I have nerve damage in my hands and forearms but I still love knitting. Right now I use several types of looms because it is easy for me to use one hand at a time and put down projects when I need a break. However ifmy dexterity deteriorates further I may get a knitting machine so I can still enjoy the craft.
What a thorough review. Thanks for sharing your expereice- I was contemplating getting one, and wasn't sure if it was worth it... but after watching this I got one! 🤩
Cranking the handle is what you do, knitting is what the machine does (LOL). The best yarn to use for the Sentro is from DK to worsted weight. Not for heavy bulky yarns. Fingering weight would require at least two strands. The spot noted at 13:17 reminds me of a user error - when joining another yarn end you must tie the two strands together in a knot--will eliminate that issue. I am a flatbed knitter, as well as loving to make something with my circular machines. I make Queen, King and California King blankets with my flatbed knitter; as well as sweaters, scarves, socks, and a wealth of other items. Flatbed machine knitting is a real art, and the process of knitting a beautiful item is quite satisfying. The Addi is a better built machine, and I own both the Addi and a Sentro. Most people who are judgmental about things like knitting machines are not aware of their own ableism, or any perspectives outside of their own. People can enjoy the process of cranking, too. I love to see accessible tools being highlighted. Thank you for sharing 💗😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm not in the market for a knitting machine but I agree with you on the price point. The colour and packaging really limits their market.
I bought my Sentro 48 machine more than a year ago. I have only used it to make blanks for dying. Now I am making hats with a huge stash of yarn my dad sent me lol. Thank you
LOL. I got my machine 3 days ago and have made 31 hats, 1 scarf and a cowl...addictive, definitely. Thanks for your review. I got the Addi and love it but someone mentioned the Sentro 40 is a better size for headbands. I was researching what others thought.
I've always been a hand knitter, but I recently bought the Addi machines for quick hats, sleeves, etc. I even found channels here on YT that teach colorworking on the machines, and lace knitting, patterns... even socks. So I plan to delve into all that soon. I especially like the idea of knitting sleeves faster and easier for cardigans and jackets.
I wish there was something between this and a sock knitting machine that would knit sport or dk weight sleeves. By the time I get to the sleeves on a sweater in these lighter weight yarns I am soooo ready to be done.
I like to use it to knit up a tube, throw it in the wash and then use the yarn to make something by hand. It’s awesome for prewashing your yarn so you can try on as you go and know the yarn isnt going to stretch out on the first wash.
Great point. I knit with a lot of Holst yarn with the machine oil. Woukd be great to wash it first like you mention but wondering if it would be hard to unravel for knitting?
@@Susan-yb3hh I’ve never had any bother but I’ve only ever knit with acrylic and nylon yarns before. The yarn is a little wavy but I find that with all frogged projects.
I splurged on two Addi machines because in the long run I found it to be the better investment. They came through this past holiday for gifts. No one cared that none were hand knitted, they just loved what they got. I even made my mom (myself first then her) an oversized cardigan to wear around the house to be warm & cozy. I still love hand knitting, but for stuff that can be done on my machines I prefer to do that.
I have this I love it and I also have the addi love love them both made many different things on it But I got it because I crochet and did not know how to but I am leaning now and I love it and I give away a lot of my work for hospitals and homeless so it works for me you did great on this video thanks for sharing and being open to something new
After a hand injury I can only knit for very short times befor my hand locks and can't move. Really frustrating as it taks month and moth again to even finish a small hand knitting projekt. Then I got two antique knitting machines, one CSM and one flat bed, and renovated them to working conditions. I absolut love that I am able to knit stuff again. It is not the same as hand knitting but it is sooooooo much better than not being able to knit at all. And my old antique machines has a bit more temperament than your Sentro so it is not as totally smooth ride😜The old machines need oil and a soft hand and I need a lot of coffee😁 It has been a learning curve, but a fun one! And as always it is better to machine knit than not knit at all ❤
I have 2 of those, I plan on doing a tube knit blanket with mine...at the same time I'm crocheting a blanket for my fiance, and knitting my own blanket by hand...I love my machine for making hats, but am going to try making a blanket with mine, saw a youtube video of somebody doing that and it was so pretty
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this machine. I've seen them before but just didn't know if they would be worth having. I have arthritis in my thumbs and am not enjoying knitting as much as I used to because of the pain. I appreciate your opinion and your thoughts on the Sentro. It's on my wish list now! 😁
I might have to get one of those. I drove myself crazy making donation hats last year. I also love double knit hats. Double knitting is super fun for me, but it’s nice to have an option for simplifying the process.
No judgement here…this looks fun! I am a hand knitter for about 45 years and I knit everyday. It is part of my lifestyle. I never understood some hand knitters who take such a strong stance against knitting machines. It is a craft in its own right. I spin yarn with a wheel..not a drop spindle - isn’t this about the same thing? I have an Erlbacher on the way and I can’t wait to start cranking out socks with it. That doesn’t mean I will never handknit intricate, pretty patterned socks again- it means I can crank out plain vanilla socks for my family at mock speed. As long as it is fun, it is totally worth doing. I love your hat and the yarn is beautiful! I will say my first thought was “why is it such a hideous color”! I might pay the $200 more for the Addi just to have it be black 😂.
Thank you, Tayler, for the honest review. I have often thought it would be worth getting one of those machines to use up some of my stash and knit hats for the local pregnancy crisis center here in Houston. Your hat looks great and I can see how it will be a great tool for swatching.
It's my pleasure Maggie! Thank you for watching. And I certainly agree and think that if you have a local charity you like to support with knit goods, this is an excellent option. Almost invaluable. Happy New Year!
Oh my goodness! Your description of the color is spot on. Had I not been watching and just listening, I could have pictured the color in my mind exactly. It is intriguing. Especially since I just watched someone doing the musselburgh hat and thought, like you, I don’t see myself being patient enough to slog through that tube. But I do love the look of the hat, so this just might be an option. At that price point it would be a fun novelty to have on hand. Thanks for the thorough and entertaining review. Love the channel.
Girl, you're rocking that beanie. It's tempting to get it since I'm just now falling down the knitting in the round rabbit hole. Thanks for showing what you made and your thoughts on it.
I love that you hustled the critical thinking skills on the practicality of this little machine! So cool! All of your opinions validate picking one up! Especially using up all that yarn one bought way black when. Thanks!
I made a ton of pumpkins with mine and they turned out so stinking cute! I haven’t made a hat with it yet but I’m definitely going to now. I agree there are so many things I would rather be knitting like a sweater or socks so it serves a purpose and quite frankly it’s kind of fun
I bought mine when I saw it on sale a few months ago and also made several pumpkins, which I gave to friends. I've made a few hats, the videos I'd watched previously recommended dk weight yarn but I'll have to try it with a worsted after seeing the beanies in this video.
Thank you for this. I crochet but am not coordinated enough for knitting (thanks hand issues!). Now I’m gonna ask for this for Christmas so I can give knitting another try.
Love your insight into your projects, I want a knitting machine. No need for the disclaimers, any time whatsoever, your opinions are valuable. Don't cater to people offended by everything. Crank us more swatches, it's such a good tool, since most swatches are swatched flat. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you guys.
I bought one recently and am having so much fun with it! Yes I’m a knitter and crocheter but this is just one more tool in the arsenal. Like you I hate the pukey pink - managed to find one the same in purple.
Good video thank you , I had watched other videos and thought the fabric to be very loose. Having seen your beautiful beanies ,and heard you would buy one yourself ,I have now ordered a Sentra. Arthritis and shoulder problems has sadly limited my lifetime of knitting and I have so much yarn to use up. Hopefully this will be of use 👍
Thank you for your video! I have known for quite awhile that I want to buy a circular knitting machine but was not sure which one. You have just helped me tremendously to decide on the Sentro. Love how nice your hats look!!
OMG! Now you have me wondering if my Mom who has arthritis might enjoy one! Very cool.
Hear hear! Love this comment so much.
Great point! I agree! I think I'll be using both methods now too!
Agree!!!!
Great tip, thanks
I am considering buying one for my library for kids or adults to use to make hats for our social services department to hand out to people in need! We already have our knitting group that hand knits charity donations, but imagine how many we could crank out if we had this?? (LITERALLY)
@@Kpup Great idea!
@@Kpup that would be so great! I know my niece LOVED cranking out a hat the day I took the machine to her house.
Woah i didn't know they made icord mils 🤔 thanks for the info!
Thank you Lisa! And yes. 100%!
Taylor kudos to you, this episode was done in such a professional way. You highlighted lots of great things and provided great content, without judgment and allowing anyone watching to learn and explore this option. Thank you, excellent job !
Thank you so much Mercedes! That means a lot. ❤️
Denise, which size machine would be better to make baby hats - 48 or 40?? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@@kennieprater1555 baby hats on 22 needle.
Your definition of "CTD (Cold Tootsie Disorder)" had me giggling! If only you could run this term past a physician.
I love using my circular knitting machine for stash busting. Made a nice big blanket just by making long tubes and mattress stitching them together
Now I must rabbit hole knitting machine videos. Also those hats are AMAZEBALLS.
Oh, another use I saw for yarn dye-ers. You can hold two strands of sock yarn together and make a "sock blank" out of undyed yarn, if you are into that kind of thing.
This is awesome!!! What a great idea!!!
I love this review. We shouldn't feel guilty for making our life easier 😉.
Thank you Dominika! And ABSOLUTELY NOT in regards to the guilt. If we can make things easier, we're happier. Happier people are nicer. So on and so forth. 😘
I enjoy hand knitting. I think the reason I find a machine appealing is that it would help me get through and feel less guilty about my stash. 😬
Yes! 100% agree.
It seems exciting to be able to bust through stash for a quick stack of hats to donate.
I have used this machine for a couple of years. I started for charity knitting. Made so many hats I wore out the machine. I just bought a new one it came just before Christmas, I knit hats for each of my 6 grandkids for Christmas in a couple of days.
I love that you touched on accessibility and how it's great for making it accessible to all kinds of people.
You've inspired me to drag out my Bond knitting machine and burn some stash!
Thank you I enjoyed your review. I recently bought one of these knitting machines and I just love it.
So glad you reposted this video, so happy to hear pros of this affordable little knitter❤😂🎉
I so appreciate your honest, deep dive into this product. Love it!
The hats are also easily changed into a drawstring bag or two. You only need half the amount and a drawstring on one end and sewn shut on the other.
Great straightforward video!! Love how easy and quick it is for a simple product. 💚 great review.
This was so helpful! Totally buying one, teaching my husband and kids to use it, and cranking out hat swatches for my shop. Thank you!
💖🌹🙂🙋♀️
My hubs ordered one for me for Christmas 🎄 ❤ I’m excited to make my friends and family hats. It hasn’t come yet 😒 darn holidays
I have the same story lol. I’m super excited to get it
Loved your review!
Totally cute and wearable for anyone. Not just charity. I have been wanting one for double layer scrap scarves and for making dyeing blanks.
Love how you released this video now. I actually ordered this machine on Christmas Day because I have been wanting one for a long time now. I’m so glad to hear your positive reviews and it makes me more excited to receive mine.
Love the hats, the panel sounds quite exciting , food for thought
I agree, excellent for swatching your hand dyed yarns to see the effect and result 👌
Wishing you all the best in 2023
Your video is exactly what I was looking for. I am a hand knitter, and have been thinking about this machine for charity knitting.
Thanks! 😂
Hey hey! That’s a win in my book. Thanks for giving the video a chance Janine! ❤️
I love my looms too! I have so many varieties. But for quick work I like the circular machines. 😊
I had a barbie knitter when I was little and used to love making Barbie clothes. Seems like fun to make some adult size things.
Love how objective your critiques are.
Thank you Lucile!
What a thorough review. Thanks for sharing your expereice- I was contemplating getting one, and wasn't sure if it was worth it... but after watching this I got one! 🤩
Cranking the handle is what you do, knitting is what the machine does (LOL). The best yarn to use
for the Sentro is from DK to worsted weight. Not for heavy bulky yarns. Fingering weight would
require at least two strands. The spot noted at 13:17 reminds me of a user error - when joining
another yarn end you must tie the two strands together in a knot--will eliminate that issue. I am a
flatbed knitter, as well as loving to make something with my circular machines. I make Queen, King
and California King blankets with my flatbed knitter; as well as sweaters, scarves, socks, and a
wealth of other items. Flatbed machine knitting is a real art, and the process of knitting a beautiful
item is quite satisfying.

Thank you
I have rheumatoid arthritis, & have ordered a Sentro so that I can start knitting again. I completely agree with you about the weird colour, though.
My husband is 6'4"...I'm currently knitting sleeve #2 and feel like it's taking a thousand years LOL a machine would be so handy!
They have a 22 pin, 36 pin (I think) and 40 pin. Maybe more. Maybe not all this brand, I don't know.
That's a great idea!
This was a very good informational review. I love the hats.
I have this I love it and I also have the addi love love them both made many different things on it But I got it because I crochet and did not know how to but I am leaning now and I love it and I give away a lot of my work for hospitals and homeless so it works for me you did great on this video thanks for sharing and being open to something new
This would be awesome to get for my son, he is on the autism spectrum but this would be a great way for him to try out knitting!
100%--LOVE this comment Hannah. Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you for watching Nanette!
What is a pumpkin? I saw another comment referencing that too. Is it a knit decorative pumpkin )like a fall decoration)or a wearable knit item?
Thank you for this. I crochet but am not coordinated enough for knitting (thanks hand issues!). Now I’m gonna ask for this for Christmas so I can give knitting another try.
Love your insight into your projects, I want a knitting machine. No need for the disclaimers, any time whatsoever, your opinions are valuable. Don't cater to people offended by everything. Crank us more swatches, it's such a good tool, since most swatches are swatched flat. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you guys.
Thank you so much Derek! Happy new year!
I bought one recently and am having so much fun with it! Yes I’m a knitter and crocheter but this is just one more tool in the arsenal.
Like you I hate the pukey pink - managed to find one the same in purple.
The hats you made are adorable 🥰 I can see possibly purchasing one to use up some random balls of yarn in my stash.
