+PSG Wrigglee Well hope you were still able to enjoy some of the other Twins great moments even though most were before your time. They are going to be much better this year I think, not KC Royals good, but still a team Twins fans can really get behind this year.
I was in high school when I watched that game at home with my mom. Felt like the World Series to me even though it wasn't, but this game is forever cemented in not just Twins lore, but Baseball lore, and I got to witness it. I'll never forget the crazy 9th Inning jam and the 10th Inning back and forth scoring and of course, Gomez with the winning run. Beautiful way to cap of the Metrodome for Twins baseball. Here's to hoping for better days.
Beau Ba Fett I was at that game, was up in the right field nosebleeds. I was 9 years old, and it was the most surreal experience of my entire life. The Homer Hankies, the intensity, all of it just blew my mind.
The true test of a sports fan is, even though your team sucks right now, your still in the stands cheering them on. No matter how bad they may get, i will always support the Minnesota Twins.
Great video! Some nastalgia packed in here. I was just about to go to the comments and gripe about using the Jack Buck, Game 6 call over the Gordo but sure enough you nailed by including both! Really enjoyed this, glad it showed up in my feed.
it is watching this game today; longest 9 inning game in Twins history and it still isn't over. Win on the 30th anniversary of the 87 team was awesome last night though.
I’ve always been critical of this fanbase because a large chunk of it overreacts to eve shortcoming. But no one can deny that this fanbase rides or dies for this team. Nothing like being a Twins fan!
Herbie was so pumped when he hit that grand slam in '87 that he fractured that bat boy's hand when he gave a hard high five right before he touched home plate. There are other angles of the bat boy shaking his hand in pain afterward.
A moment I will always remember is the call Dick Bremer made when Jason Kubel hit a grand slam to complete the cycle. It was the last year the Twins played in the Metrodome, but it was a good one!
forgot about that, my buddy who's a huge Twins fan did too. That was the year of the 163rd game. Great year for the Twins, but the stupid Yankees had to go and ruin the Twins post season hopes.
The one constant in my life is my love for the Minnesota Twins. I was born on July 4th 1992. Been a Twins fan my whole life. While my favorite sports may be hockey and wrestling, the Twins have always given me the best memories. I can remember going to so many games at the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome, learning the beauty of the game of baseball and eating Dome dogs! I grew up watching Torii Hunter, Johan Santanna, David Ortiz, Brad Radke, Aj Pierzynski, Justin Mourneau, Joe Mauer and countless others. I can remember TC the bear signing my glove as a kid as well as my first visit to Target field after it opened. I will love the Twins until the day I die. Minnesota is a hell of a fun place to watch America’s past time and I cant wait for us to snag another world series title!!! GO TWINS!!!❤️💙
I started taking my son to the games as a young boy at the Metrodome. He was like you; he loved the Dome dogs and so do I. We both miss them,,,way better than the dog at the new stadium. Twins will have another great team this year again.
Not at the metrodome though, obviously. (couldn't pick up grass stains or dirt in that place). But, at Target field, you guys look great with ruffled uniforms.
Yeah it would be hard to get grass stains when they were playing at the Homerdome. Nobody can say you are a fair weather fan with the year the Twins are having this year.
damn i love the twins since i was a little kid. i still remember when a pitcher was brought in from the bullpen he got to ride to the mound in a new ford. lol
Need Killebrew's 9th-inning, game winning home run against the Yankees in 1965 in the game before the All Star break...many have said that was the clutch victory that propelled the Twins to the AL pennant...
It's been a rough stretch of years lately with some pretty bad baseball, but the Royals were terrible for over 20 years and played in the last 2 World Series so I know the Twins can make it back too!
aww man, my dad got tickets for me and him for his 300th (presuming) and we ended up seeing his 2998......good memories of my late father......he tried
If I remember right Molitor was the only player in MLB history to hit a triple on his 3,000th hit, that would have been awesome if you could have seen that.
@@onrywaymore104 I was at that game. Whether or not Hrbek’s slam really broke the decibel meter or not (at one point in the game I guess they did show a broken meter, but then later on supposedly somebody said that was just made that up) it was so loud in that building I thought my head was going to explode. Looking back, I’m seriously surprised I didn’t get hearing loss from that. The moment the ball came off Hrbek’s bat the entire stadium just exploded.
I assume you are commenting about a post someone made earlier about being at the game and Hrbek hitting the game winning homerun. It was his 1st major league HR and it was a game winner. I think you are confusing a walk off home run or winner with someone being responsible for the game winning run.
I'd like to thank the Minnesota Twins for cutting David Ortiz so that he can go somewhere and bring Not One, Not Two, BUT THREE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS to a city that has not experienced one in 86 years.
Only the Twins or Vikings could do something so stupid, helped break the Curse of the Bambino. Come to think of it; the Twins haven't won the World Series since cutting Ortiz. The helped break the curse of the Bambino, but instead started the Curse of Big Papi.
The Twins built such good fan equity in the 2000s especially in 2009 and again in 2010. But then 4 terrible seasons from 11-14, one bounce back but no playoffs season in 15 and a worse-than-terrible season in 16 have resulted in the Twins seriously regressing. They put out an unwatchable product now.
Yeah, tough year' they make break their record for most losses in a saeson. The starting pitching is terrible and the bullpen is beyond horrible. I remember they were playing the Bluejays and were up 5-2 and it felt like they were behind because you knew the bullpen was going to blow the lead and they did, losing 11-5.
Luke Enno And now they are pretty good again immediately after being terrible, that’s why sports are fun, your team can’t always be good but if you stick with your team they could be good again before expected
I hear ya, but I think they did the right thing. He is having a career year and he was a utility player his whole career before this year. They are so far out of the race and this when you trade a player. Trade a veteran player when they are having a career year, their market value will never be any higher, so getting a top 100 prospect with a good arm is probably a good trade.
Jack Buck was a true legend, a professional in every way. One of the greatest baseball announcers in any book, he most certainly was not a whiner, but most certainly was a winner.
Huge twins fan here but the 91 series will always be tainted because of hrbeks cheating and the refs extremely bad call. Gant tagged 1st base twice before he was pulled off.
I don't think so; I've lived in Minnesota for over 30 years now and everybody thinks this World Series win was well deserved. The 87 Series they were very lucky not having to face the Cards with Jack Clark injured.
Not sure if you are trolling or not, but small market teams will go through down times in baseball. The Twins have a great fan base and they will get better again eventually.
Why does it not surprise me that someone who has a picture of giving the middle finger to the world comments with a negative comment. Which playoff series and play in particular are you asking about?
Jack Morris still throwing smoke in the 10th inning of the World Series game 7! A shutout to boot! I doubt you will ever see such a thing today.
We were at Joe Sensor's Sports Bar watching that night, what a masterpiece he pitched
Dang I remember game 163 like it was yesterday even though I was only 10 I love the twins and I will never stop cheering for them
+PSG Wrigglee Well hope you were still able to enjoy some of the other Twins great moments even though most were before your time. They are going to be much better this year I think, not KC Royals good, but still a team Twins fans can really get behind this year.
+PSG Wrigglee i feel stupid for asking i love baseball but i dont know what a central is?
+SyrupCraft6
No such thing as a stupid question. It's actually AL Central, meaning American League Central.
I was in high school when I watched that game at home with my mom. Felt like the World Series to me even though it wasn't, but this game is forever cemented in not just Twins lore, but Baseball lore, and I got to witness it. Beau Ba Fett I was at that game, was up in the right field nosebleeds. I was 9 years old, and it was the most surreal experience of my entire life. The Homer Hankies, the intensity, all of it just blew my mind.
Well deserved .... Minnesota Twins were warriors that wouldn't give up 👍👍
The true test of a sports fan is, even though your team sucks right now, your still in the stands cheering them on. No matter how bad they may get, i will always support the Minnesota Twins.
Twins have great fans. They kicked the Royals a.....ss yesterday, so they can say they were in 1st place for at least a day this year.
Inuyasha6594 to be fair two decades of suck kinda hurts
Yeah it does, but they are still in 1st place this year and the lineup they have is fun to watch.
On'ry Waymore and the vikings were 5-0.
I know you can't make it up with Vikes; they will always find some way to screw it up.
Fabulous Memories
Most memorable moment for the twins The twins are gonna win the World Series
That was definitely a great moment in Twins history
Great video! Some nastalgia packed in here. I was just about to go to the comments and gripe about using the Jack Buck, Game 6 call over the Gordo but sure enough you nailed by including both!
Really enjoyed this, glad it showed up in my feed.
I still have both of my local news papers from the day after the Twins world series wins in '87, and '91. Great memories. Great bunch of guys.
I still have my Homer Hanky; they were a fun team to watch especially the 91 World Series.
On'ry Waymore Still the only Minnesota team to win a championship in the 4 major sports.
Minnesota has 5 NBA championships. MNLPs Lakers.
I live in Minnesota and I love the twins so much😊
I live in Minnesota also and it has been a tough year this year to watch them; they need bullpen help desperately.
John Gordon's call on Molitor's 3,000th hit is a classic...
Yeah it is; the Twins were very lucky to have Gordo as an announcer. His hall of fame induction was well deserved.
Touch 'em all, Kirby! You'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!
One of the greatest moments in baseball history!
Being Minnesota fan is hard but love the Twins always through thick and thin
it is watching this game today; longest 9 inning game in Twins history and it still isn't over. Win on the 30th anniversary of the 87 team was awesome last night though.
Hrbek hitting home runs is just a thing of ease. He just looks like yawnnnn swing and gone! He was great!
I can't believe the 2 triple plays in one game from 1990 wasn't in this. It's still a standing record today.
And consecutive game with 6 double plays
I’ve always been critical of this fanbase because a large chunk of it overreacts to eve shortcoming. But no one can deny that this fanbase rides or dies for this team. Nothing like being a Twins fan!
6:00 glad they included the decoy play. That saved game 7.
And set up the best double play I've ever seen in my life. Poor Sid Bream - he wasn't even to the sliding pit when the relay throw hit Hrbek's glove!
Herbie was so pumped when he hit that grand slam in '87 that he fractured that bat boy's hand when he gave a hard high five right before he touched home plate. There are other angles of the bat boy shaking his hand in pain afterward.

TwinCityFilms definitely one of the best calls all time. Sometimes I wish we still played in the dome.

Not at the metrodome though, obviously. (couldn't pick up grass stains or dirt in that place). But, at Target field, you guys look great with ruffled uniforms.

Eric Milton god that takes me back
Touch em all Kirby Puckett! Gotta love that..
Kubel's cycle was my all time favorite😍
That was an awesome moment; we were freaking out at the house party we were watching the game at, when he hit that classic HR.
Need Killebrew's 9th-inning, game winning home run against the Yankees in 1965 in the game before the All Star break...many have said that was the clutch victory that propelled the Twins to the AL pennant...
I love in Minnesota wish the twins now was like then
It's been a rough stretch of years lately with some pretty bad baseball, but the Royals were terrible for over 20 years and played in the last 2 World Series so I know the Twins can make it back too!
To this day....in 2021....hearing John Gordon's call of Kirby's Homer, I still get goosebumps
Never gets old does it!
Awesome video, as a huge baseball fan, keep these coming!!
+mandanhusker24 Thank you my friend, I will be posting some more Twins videos in the next week or so.
Great list. I'd add Kirby's 2000th hit and Radke beating the A's to end their record winning streak in 2002. Santana's 15 strikeout game vs Texas too.
Thank you for watching and commenting; those were great moments for sure.
I really enjoyed this video. But what about the Twins upset of the A's in the 2002 ALDS. Doesn't that deserve a spot?
Thanks, maybe I guess, some unknown guy for the Twins named David Ortiz did drive in the game winning run in the series clinching game 5
Puckett was the man!!
Yes he was!!
So was Morris!
Having the Gant pick off play on here is the ultimate troll to the braves 🤣
Great video
Thanks so much for the kind words
Wish this video was longer XD
I think that's a good thing?
Yeah. The Twins need some more World Series wins under their belt
Ok. I got ya. 2 World Series titles aren't bad though, that's a heck of a lot better than the Cubs have done over the last 100 years.
RIP Kirby Puckett
aww man, my dad got tickets for me and him for his 300th (presuming) and we ended up seeing his 2998......good memories of my late father......he tried
Not sure if you are talking about which pitcher for his 300th win or which hitter for his 3,000 hit
oops, typo, i meant paul moliter with his 3000th.....we missed it by 2 hits
If I remember right Molitor was the only player in MLB history to hit a triple on his 3,000th hit, that would have been awesome if you could have seen that.
Boy do I miss John and Herb calling games.
They really did do a great job
Now if only Minnesota could win a cup.
What you want the Stanley Cup, World Cup, Ryder Cup
And a Super Bowl. And an NBA Championship. But, hey, we got the Lynx and their 4 titles!!
Rip Puckett
He was one of the best
Hopefully the Twins can break the Minnesota sports drought.
as of right now twins are #1 in AL Central. I might break my boycott and go to target field for the first time ever
Heck of a lineup they have now; Sano is a beast.
1987 World Series Game 7 ending is the best!
Game 6 ending was even better!
@@onrywaymore104 I was at that game. @@Whoopdido777 Hrbek's grand slam was awesome; the whole state of Minnesota exploded when that happened
what was the announcers name who said"touch em all Kirby?" I remember him
The great John Gordon.
Posting this before the Twins won the World Series in 2019!
I think they will make the playoffs this year that is for sure
Might have to add a couple clips from this season after we win the WS 👀👀
I wish You-tube would let you edit videos already uploaded where you could add new material to videos such as this but you can't.
Where was Gladden's grand slam in game one of the '87 world series?
That was a great play...1st grand slam in the WS in 17 years.
3:09 Most random stat ever lol
Twins have won the World Series 3 times but the last one was in 1991
The franchise has but twins on!y won 2 2-1 there third was when they where the senators in god mid 1920' s I think
I wish you had a video of Tim Tuefel's inside-the-park home run at the dome.
didn't remember that one, the only walk off inside the park home run in Twins history.
I wish he had posted Gagne’s back to back inside the park home runs. Only been done one other time.
The video seems to crap out at around the 1991 mark...
Gordon's call in Game Six was far superior to Buck's.
Touch em' all Kirby Puckett; touch em' all. His signature call and for sure it was a classic call
I always have believed that Jack Buck was peeved, not wanting to have to come back for a game 7, when he made that call.
John Gordon's and Herb Carneal's calls are vastly superior to Jack Buck's.
Rookie Knoblauch faking out Lonnie Smith IS baseball. They wouldn't have won it without that.
heavy hitter
Paul Molitor got a triple? Shocking
Not shocking at all, Molitor was an incredible athlete, he hit over 100 triples in his HOF career, including a career high of 16 in 1979.
I don't think Hrbek hit a game winning homerun...He wasn't mauled at the plate and it looked like the guy on deck was getting ready to bat.
I assume you are commenting about a post someone made earlier about being at the game and Hrbek hitting the game winning homerun. It was his 1st major league HR and it was a game winner. I think you are confusing a walk off home run or winner with someone being responsible for the game winning run.
After all it was a road game they had not won anything yet.The Yankees still had the bottom of the inning.
2:26 😂
Twins WS wins: 1987, 1991, and 2020
Didn’t age well huh?

I want Gene Larkin to have my babies
Where's Carew and Oliva?
Rod carew?
I miss Alexi Casilla and Carlo Gomez on my twins. I hate the Yankees
Sure is easy to hate the Yankees ain't it
Ya but they try there trying
There's always next year, Spring training will come and we will have dreams of winning another pennant.
Great comp, but you just had to end it with that prick Gomez, huh?
sad how long
16 straight losses now, 13 against the stupid Yankees!
Sucks about Nunez

Buck and McCarver, a couple of whiners.
Jack Buck was a true legend, a professional in every way. One of the greatest baseball announcers in any book, he most certainly was not a whiner, but most certainly was a winner.
They have always been a team that was a waste of a playoffs spot
Ah, my favorite kind of people in the world, internet trollers. God bless ya anyway Chris.
Especially in 87 and 91, right?
Huge twins fan here but the 91 series will always be tainted because of hrbeks cheating and the refs extremely bad call. Gant tagged 1st base twice before he was pulled off.

too bad the twins are the worst team in the mlb now
Not sure if you are trolling or not, but small market teams will go through down times in baseball. The Twins have a great fan base and they will get better again eventually.
Revolution Foxx oh really?
Where is their playoff series against the yankees?
Why does it not surprise me that someone who has a picture of giving the middle finger to the world comments with a negative comment. Which playoff series and play in particular are you asking about?
On'ry Waymore Negative comment? Uh, it was more of a teaser comment yo.
Which Yankee series were you inquiring about?
It was a joke. I was referring to the four series the Twins played the Yankees and lost to them in 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2010.
OK gotcha; I'm hearing you now. Being a Royals fan and living in Minnesota; I still have nightmares about the Yankees
